Current Description:

July 23, 2002:
Before you stands a lean elf, clad in black robes that seem to swirl about him like the shadows collecting at the setting of the sun. His hair matches the color of his robes, also being of stark, raven-black color. His skin is smooth and of a pale gray in color, a sharp contrast to his dark hair. His nose resembles a hawk in some strange manner that you can't quite put your finger on, but this does not seem to detract from the overall portrait of this elf. Outwardly he seems somewhat frail, prone to the harshness of the world. Perhaps what is most strange about him, is the look of his eyes. As you look at them, you see a flame, flaring and burning, embodying the very essence of the sphere it serves. His skin is relatively unmarked, but you can tell that he is one that has fought the harshness of the world, and embraced it. Tattoos mark the palms of his hands, twining about his thin wrists and ending halfway up the arm. They are also of a black color, yet they seem to writhe and burn as if they are made of pure fire themselves, sometimes seeming to change to an angry red... Kaldred is in perfect health.

Character History:

Kaldred Kandrelle was born on Jawiliea the 5th, the month of Celebration in a quaint little town by the name of Lloth Llorien. Kaldred's parents were the well known Refier and Mildred Kandrelle. Owning and running a weaponry shop, Kaldred grew up with good knowledge of the blade. He was never too fond of the shield, hence his development in his ranger ways. The Dark Thieves of Lloth Llorien kept him on his feet as a child and gave him the experience he needed to move on in the Realm.

Kaldred was never a boy to have his mind set straight. He (as most children) dreamed of being in such a powerful following as the Conclave. He knew of the battles and celebrations the Conclave had, and didn't fully disagree with the Nashite way, but didn't fully understand it(which he would come to realize). Kaldred's childhood was rather typical..but with a few attempts on his life. He learned from them, and was/is able to avoid an attempt on his life.
As fond of mystics and magic as he was, Kaldred decided to take up the arts of the Mage. Combined with his Ranger physiciality, he thought he would have a fighting chance in the Realm. He developed quite well and soon into a young man eager for a God/Goddess to follow. His childhood dream of the Conclave had not faded, and he seeked admission. Upon wandering around the City of Midgaard one fine day, Kaldred ran into a rather small, but obviously powerful human named Mordith. Mordith of the Black Conclave. Kaldred used his recent skill of identify to unveil the effects of a few potions for Mordith. He and Mordith conversed for a while and soon became good friends. After a while of friendship and trust, Mordith decided that he would quest Kaldred for the Conclave. With amazing speed and skill, Kaldred obtained the items necessary for his quest and was admitted to the Black Conclave.

As a member of the Conclave, Kaldred was frowned upon by the members of his hometown and his parents were very displeased. His outlook on his new following was slightly fogged by these reactions. Kaldred decided to remain loyal to his following nonetheless. He spent much of his time gaining experience and identifying objects for his following members. Kaldred never quite realized how brutal some members of the Conclave actually were. They were totally based on killing other people.. Innocent people. People who have committed no offense. Though he disagreed with this, he remained silent and respectful to his followers. As a member, he had counted on the following to socially accept him and help him along the way. There were only a handful out of the following that Kaldred respected and was friendly with. The rest, were rude, cruel, and short with him. This was NOT what Kaldred wanted/needed. He was unfortunatly... trapped by his loyalty. He knew he had made a mistake, but knew not how to escape this horror he had shown himself. His guilt kept him in his place.

One day, Kaldred decided to speak to a few others...in different followings. He was obviously not like the rest of the Conclave, and didn't have the heart to hurt..only help. Kaldred knew he needed to escape no matter what the cost. Upon talking to a man named Tien, Kaldred learned of a following known as Fate. A following that intrigued him greatly. He knew that the Conclave had made an imprint on his reputation, but he had decided that he'd rather die than to stay in such constant bloodlust. With much felt shame, Kaldred apostatized from his following, leaving a very respectful note emphasizing his appologies. Standing threatened and haunted by his bitter followers, Kaldred now realizes his path in life, and is ready to move beyond his Childhood dreams(which turned out to be nightmares). He is ready for whatever consequences he may have to pay in the future and will accept them with luck, as one of fate.. the following in which he should have tried for in the first place. If ever a lesson in Kaldred's life, it is, "Learn from your mistakes, but make them..as you need them to mature."

Trivia:

  • Kaldred was extremely active in 2001 - 2003, and is present or mentioned in over 100 logs on the timeline.

a red leather sword belt and scabbard

Long Description: This strong leather belt of dragonhide holds a fine scabbard.

Extra Description: scabbard
This scabbard is crafted of lightweight golden mithril, one of
the rarest of metals and is lined with a soft red silk-velvet.
It connects to the belt by four long loops, formed by the front
legs of an ornamental spider design at the scabbard's top edge.
Ancient elven runes trace down the highly ornate length of the
scabbard. As your curious finger traces their length, light in
shades of crimson and gold flare up from within them. The eyes
of the spider open, and it speaks:
. A price for flesh / A price for blood
. The price that murder makes
. A swift response / Or slow in time
. Yet none escape Eraic
. Each thread is cut / In Wyld's own time
. Re-wove to Lady's will
. But Fate's own blade / Unleashed by Her
. The Eraic's price to fill.

Extra Description: runes name
Finally deciphering the runes upon the scabbard,
you read the name of the blade it was made to house:

. "The Blood Price"

Below it, in smaller letters, is written:

"None escape paying what is due."

(Screaming) the sigil of the Hunter

Long Description: This seal ring bears upon it a strange symbol.

Extra Description: sigil
The Ebon Sigil Odegra has been placed upon the surface of this ring,
surrounded and enclosed by a deeply engraved band of briar thorns.
A strange, wailing scream emits from the ring: it is the howl of the
Washer at the Ford, the baying cry of the hunting hound... the sound
of Death impending.

a golden mithril-weave gorget

Extra Description: gorget
Golden mithril is the rarest of all metals, and is only used for the
garb of kings, nobles, and the chosen of the Immortals. Fortunately,
an ancient friendship between Tindrock, the Master Mithril Smelter of
Kharad-Delving, and the Lady Weaver grants her access to this finest
of crafstmanship and materials.

a thick cloak of dark red velvet

Extra Description: cloak
The snarling fangs of a dragon hold this cloak in place when worn,
a bright and brilliant gold against the deep crimson dragonscales.
Full and billowing, the cloak itself appears to have been made by
a meticulous craftswoman. One can only imagine the work involved
both in its crafting, and slaying the dragon to obtain its hide!!
Each scale is tiny, perfectly smooth and feel warm to the touch,
almost as if the creature from whence it came was still alive...
A glint of gold along the front closure and hem catch your eye,
sparking your curiosity to examine this beautiful cloak further.

Extra Description: Glint
Impossibly, golden thread has been used to actually EMBROIDER the
dragonscale hide in a repeating pattern of feathers which flow in
beautiful arcs along the front closure and the entire hem of the
cloak.

Extra Description: Tygift
Given as a gift from Flapper to the Elfie on this day (12-1-02)
as a token of friendship and affection.

(Roaring) an angry ebon flame

Long Description: Black flames taken from an ancient temple ground consume everything around them.

Extra Description: angry ebon flame
Like the pillars of blackflame that once supported the holy grounds of the
Ebon Hand, these holy fires mark the one for whom they were ensorcelled as
one who is a pillar of strength for the Lady and people he serves with his
very life-blood. Sworn oaths upon blood and soul mark him as indelibly as
do these fires... for the responsibilities of the Eraic Dhan endure always.

Extra Description: ebon
You feel as though you have stepped into the infinite Void, ebon oblivion
surrounding you in all directions. It is not cool here, however. Instead,
the darkness here is the searing calm at the center of Hell. You stand on
a circular floor comprised of obsidian panels, suspended in the void. Six
pits form a hexagon on the floor, an altar at their center. Six fires of
midnight black flow out of the pits, flaring to the ceiling.

Flowing from the floor, a misshapen lump of obsidian reaches out like an
ebon hand.

'Extra Description: angry
No sweat breaks out upon your brow, no red haze fills your vision, but suddenly,
and with a powerful force, rage and anger fill you... consume you... burning all
away but an overwhelming need for vengeance, retribution, and punishment...

the Eraic's binding oath

Long Description: The Eraic Dhan swears an oath to reveal to all the blood price for harming Fate.

Extra Description: oath
The one named Eraic Dhan is an individual trusted with the lives and
sacred honor of those he defends. Standing between them and any harm,
he is like a living blade raised to protect and by his very presence
dissuade others from even considering the possibility of violence.
The Eraic is a heavy weight to bear, and can only be shouldered by a
man of integrity, strength, and courage.
