Current Description:

The slender elven woman before you gazes back at you with eyes that are
ancient and wise, yet still hold humor and a bit of impish mischief. An
aura of brilliant light surrounds her like a halo; the manifestation of
her vows to The Weaver, and the magic she wields with practiced ease. A
waterfall of ebon midnight hair falls to midback in cascading waves and
curls, giving her something of a sensual air when combined with a curvy
figure somewhat out of place on an elf of her light build. Snug leather
leggings accentuate the length of her legs, combined with a forest-tone
suede tunic embroidered with gold and silver thread in a pattern of ivy
and roses. She tilts her head to one side and that emerald gaze pierces
you to the core, just as easily as the slim blades sheathed at her hips
might. When she speaks, the musical, slightly husky tone of it comes as
a suprise.
'I am Myst, Blade to the Chosen. If you are friend or ally, all my aid
is yours. If you are enemy, make your peace with the Gods now.'

Myst has a special twinkle in her eye.
Myst is in perfect health.

Character History:

Darkness... Numbing Cold... A Deafening Roar... My first memories seem now but a dream, almost surreal. When I was old enough The Guildmaster revealed to me the truth of my beginnings.

On the morning of Kelir the 24th, The Great Harvest, year 2711 The Guildmaster of the mage guild received info that an elf, barely past adolescence was mortally wounded Under Mysterra Falls. She was studying under The Guildmaster and had been practicing her teleport spell that morning, which presumably led to her situation. Hastily The Guildmaster made her way to the falls in search of the young woman. What she found, however, took her breath away. A young elf, whose name she had never revealed, lay naked on the rocks, freezing cold, on the brink of death. Her body was badly mangled, but she managed to keep herself curled around something wrapped in her own bloody dress. With the last bit life she looked up at The Guildmaster and pleaded for her to help the newborn child, whispering "I had planned to drown myself, but the falls had another fate in store for my child. While Mysterra took my life, it born my daughter's." The young woman looked down and gave a loving smile to the small premature girl, already turning blue from the frigid spray of the falls, exhaled, and died.

The guildmaster took the child back to Loth-Llorien and named her Mysterra. Myst, as she came to be known, advanced quite quickly under The Guildmaster's guidance. However, she had no real family and didn't understand her place in the world. After much pleading she finally learned how she had entered the world and suddenly a void had been opened. Myst left the safety of the trees to explore the world and find some meaning to her life. She found a goddess who introduced to her the idea of 'Fate' and chose to worship Cordir and follow where the strands would lead her...

The character Myst was created with the specific intent of becoming a Blade of Fate. I had created a character at the same time as Myst in hopes of playing the support role, but it quickly became evident that Myst needed no support. She leveled pretty danged quick and took her place as the Chosen ordained. Myst had the best stats I had ever seen on a mortal for her time, especially mana. In fact, I'm pretty sure her stats are still some of the best even with today's standards. Myst is the only person in the realm I trust to take with me on extremely tough adventures (at least with full confidence). Several years ago, I conned Myst into clearing out every high level zone on the MUD, just for fun. Many of the tasks were accomplished with only the two of us, but for the really tricky tasks we recruited Sarai. Myst has managed many big-time PKs, but is perhaps more famous (at least to me) for her lack of ability to carry the corpse following the PK (see also my PPI on Kethran). She is a HUGE packrat and carries many bags filled with things that she will likely never use. From time to time I enjoy getting Myst's bags burnt solely to encourage her to clean out her messy inventory. Myst still comes around every now and then, but at the moment does not intend to make a real comeback :(

Trivia:

  • Myst served as an Ordained of Fate from August 16, 2005 - March 30, 2007. Upon reaching level 30 Ordained, she requested release from the following.
  • Upon Lanfear's retirement, she gave many of her restrings into Myst's keeping.

Geasa:

Myst ftells, 'I, Myst, shall be as my namesake - flowing unnoticed. I swear to always remain obscured from vision.'.
Myst ftells, 'I, Myst, shall be as my namesake - passing silently. I vow never to speak loudly, avoiding gossip, shout, and yell.'.
Myst ftells, 'I, Myst, shall be as my namesake - constantly shifting. I promise to roam the lands avoiding guild and temple safe rooms (excluding Cordir's temple) except for specific functions or at the request of my goddess.'.

Myst ftells, 'I Promise to always aid the following or allies before any personal matters. Drop what I'm doing to assist those in need'. (Added 08/16/2005)
