The Baths
[Exits: north]
You are in a spacious chamber. Marble benches surround the room, facing in
toward the large bathing pool that fills its center. Steam curls up from its
waters, and you are aware of the warm humidity that fills the air. Water
flows forth from a statue in the center of the pool, keeping it hot
and fresh. A marble archway leads out to the north.

You sleep.

Samiyah sits bolt upright, gasping from a nightmare.
Samiyah catches her breath, her heart beating fast.
Samiyah resettles the blankets around her.

You sleep.

You wake and stand up.
Samiyah gasps, clutching her chest.
Samiyah wraps her arms around her thin frame, hugging herself to still the shivers that shudder through her.

You tell DarkClaw (in common), '*groggily* Sayyida.. I cannot.. stop.. dreaming...'.

Cresom gossips (in common), 'quiet night'.
Cresom gossips (in common), 'or maybe it is because I started drinking early people are staying away'.

DarkClaw tells you, 'What are you dreaming about, Sami?'.

You gossip (in common), '(ooc: your poor sister was commanded by two immortals to sleep and now she can't wake up. :( )'.

You sleep.

Samiyah whimpers, caught in the grip of another nightmare.

DarkClaw tells you, '(*blink* Heck of a state to be in.  :-( )'.
You tell DarkClaw (in common), 'Seraph ordered it, and so did Wish'.

You wake.

Samiyah gasps for breath.
Samiyah slips back unconscious.

You sleep.

Someone tells you, 'wake up'.

You wake and stand up.
Samiyah struggles to wake, rubbing her eyes to chase away the dreams.

Someone says, 'hello, Samiyah'.

Samiyah takes a few breaths to still her racing heart.

You say (in common), 'Hello..?'.

Someone’s wings fold about his body.

You smile happily.
You say (in common), 'Seraph... Hello.'.

Someone smiles happily.
Someone says, 'how do you feel?'.

You say (in common), 'Better, but...'.
Samiyah frowns slightly. 'Haunted.'

Someone says, 'how so?'.

You say (in common), 'Dreams, every time I close my eyes. Bloody, horrible dreams.'.

Someone nods slowly.
Someone says, 'you will get use to them'.

You say (in common), 'They are like ... like quicksand... They pull me in and I cannot seem to escape. Always, I am bearing Similus, and wearing armor, and fighting.'.

Someone says, 'something you don’t want then?'.

You say (in common), ‘I hope it is just a lingering effect from my actions.. Perhaps it will fade in time.'.

Someone says, ‘I told you it would be harsh'.

Samiyah nods. 'You did, Sahib. It was my choice.'
Samiyah says quietly, ‘I needed to know.'

Someone says, 'now you do....with regrets?'.

Samiyah folds her shaking hands and looks in the direction of your voice. "No. No regrets. Though I know how close to death I came. To.. brokenness."

Someone sits down and thinks deeply.

You say (in common), ‘I feel.. I feel different inside. It's hard to describe.'.

Someone sighs loudly.

You say (in common), ‘I can almost feel ..'.

Samiyah blushes a little. 'It sometimes feels like I have wings.'

Someone walks over to you, wrapping his wings around you.

Samiyah pushes her braids back from her bare face and looks up at you.

Cresom gossips (in common), ‘I forgot I had Champas hunting me along with Sendres '.

Someone kisses your forehead then whispers: I am sorry.

More gossips (in common), '*chuckle*'.

DarkClaw gossips, 'Er....'.

You say (in common), 'Why are You sorry?'.
You say (in common), 'You have done nothing wrong - you brought me back from the brink.'.

Cresom gossips (in common), 'and one thing that sucks is I killed Sendres with Champas in the room'.

You tell Cresom (in common), ‘I am awake, brother.'.
He can't hear you.

Someone steps back.

DarkClaw gossips, 'Don't go getting yourself killed. Your sister needs you. She's going through some rough times.'.

Cresom gossips (in common), 'so I only got 6k for killing him while another mob was beating the hell of out of me'.

You say (in common), 'You healed me - and without any souls to strengthen you.'.

Someone says, 'Samiyah....dear one… your soul was shattered'.

You say (in common), 'my... what? I don't...'.
Samiyah looks confused.

Cresom gossips (in common), ‘I have been to see her she just sleep's '.
Cresom gossips (in common), ‘I mark her make sure she is ok but other than that it is nothing'.

Someone starts to speak: I had to.... I had no choice.

Samiyah's brow furrows as she frowns, looking troubled.

You say (in common), 'What did You do?'.

Someone takes a deep breath.

DarkClaw gossips, 'Hmmm. Have you tried cold water? I know it's not exactly kosher, but...'.

You tell DarkClaw (in common), '(softly) I am awake. Sahib woke me.'.

Someone says, 'your soul was shattered and you were dying so I took it and......'.
Someone smashes the wall with his fist.

Samiyah startles, her eyes going wide.
You say (in common), 'What?! '.

Someone whispers: I used my soul to fix yours.

You say (in common), 'Why are you angry about that?'.

Samiyah goes pale, one hand pressing in a fist against her chest.
You say (in common), 'Did it hurt you?'.

Someone says, 'no but you did not want my soul before to entwine with yours, and now they are'.

Samiyah says practically, 'Before, you terrified me and you were threatening my friends, and I denied you as the god of my people.'

You say (in common), ‘I think... if it is not over bold to say... we are well past that point, are we not, Sahib?'.

Someone says, ‘I would agree'.

Samiyah says simply, 'You saved me. My life.. my sanity... is because of You. I will live. I will sing. Because of You.'.

More tells you (in common), 'You awake yet?'.
You tell More (in common), '(softly) I am.'.

You say (in common), 'And it explains so much -- why I feel your wings, and my dreams are of your life.'.

More tells you (in common), 'oh good......how was your nap?'.
You tell More (in common), ‘I am... recovering, but much better.'.

Someone says, 'you will be connected to me in ways that you will never be connected to another person – blood, love, marriage. For that I am sorry'.

You say (in common), ‘I do not think I would want any husband to know what I was thinking. I might think he needed a bath, and he would take offense and beat me.'.

Someone says, 'no husband will ever harm you'.

You say (in common), 'Tribal law would give them the right, Sahib.'.

Samiyah bites her lower lip contemplatively, thinking.
Samiyah says, ‘I think this'... she gestures at her chest, tapping her breastbone, as if to indicate your spirit inside her, 'Will help me understand my brother better. You and he are so much alike, though you both do not see it.'.

You tell Cresom (in common), ‘I am awake, brother.'.
He can't hear you.

Someone says, ‘I make the law remember'.

Samiyah smiles slightly and bows her head. 'Yes, Sahib. You do. I think I should rather like it if you changed that one.'

Someone says, 'a lot will be changed. No husband shall harm you for speaking your mind and you may marry whoever you wish to'.

Samiyah quotes you, 'Those with the spirit shall lead' - then asks, 'What does 'the spirit' mean, exactly, Sahib?'

Someone says, 'wisdom, knowledge, strength, and power. Harness them all and you have the spirit'.

Samiyah chuckles softly. 'Well, that certainly doesn't include me... I am not wise or powerful or strong. Though I have knowledge, and always seek more.'

Someone says, 'you are wise to know your weakness and learn from it. Your songs and poems are powerful. You have the strength to seek the unknown'.

Samiyah smiles faintly. 'You make me seem quite capable, Sahib.' She bows her head in acknowledgement.

Someone says, 'you have gained all them. You hold the spirit in your hands. Now it’s your choice to decide what to do with it'.

Samiyah turns her palms up, the patterns of henna faded upon them.

Someone says, ‘I told you before: strength and power do not come from combat'.

Samiyah asks softly, 'Seraph, why...' She stops, and bows her head. ‘I am sorry. Never mind. I have asked it already. Forgive me.'

Someone says, 'ask me next time. Something is not right with an elder. I am sorry, Samiyah, I must depart'.

You nod.
You say (in common), 'of course, Sahib. Thank you again.'.

Someone leaps into the sky and flies off.

Samiyah says softly, ‘I will not waste the life you have gifted me with'.

You tell Cresom (in common), ‘I am awake, brother.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'CHEER everything ok?'.

You tell Cresom (in common), '*evasively* I am ... better.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'that doesn't make me feel better. I came and checked on you a couple times. It didn't mean better'.

Cresom arrives from the north.
Cresom makes a complicated-looking gesture.
Cresom draws a funny looking rune on you.

You tell Cresom (in common), 'The Gods commanded me to sleep and heal... a long time... but I am awake now, and should be able to remain so.'.

Cresom says (in common), 'which gods?'.

You say (in common), 'Wish and Seraph'.

Cresom grumbles.
Cresom says (in common), 'why not just .. not talk to them? That I know sounds like a crazy idea… but how about take bad things out of your life'.

Cresom says (in common), 'ok I must sleep some I feel like killing something evil'.
Cresom sleeps.

You tell Cresom (in common), '(I missed everything after me telling you that Wish and Seraph told me to sleep - Hubby was working on our internet router)'.

You tell Wish (in common), '*bowing* Sahib... Did we speak, or was that another of my fever dreams?'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'All I had to say is - why do you let evils tell you what to do? Why not let people that are good in your life tell you what to do?'.

You tell Cresom (in common), '*shocked* I obey the commands of the Gods, Brother! I do not 'do what evil people tell me to do… I obey Immortals, as we all should. If.. if Belgarion was to tell me to dance a jig, I would tell him to jump off the Fastwater bridge'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'Those are two evil gods and they have been having you do things that didn't make you better'.

You tell Cresom (in common), 'They are _IMMORTAL_...'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'they are but there are other immortals you could appeal to'.

You tell Cresom (in common), 'If Pharuin commanded me to sing lewd songs in Market Square, I would not do it. It is not the aura that commands me. It is the Immortality. We must do as we are told. It is Tynian's Law. Not seek away around it, but obey. Simply. Immediately.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'it is … but even Tynian said you can appeal if something isn't right'.

You tell Cresom (in common), '... Do you think that sleeping, so as to heal from grievous harm, is not right? Brother... I nearly died. Seraph says that my soul shattered when I touched Similus... and I will tell you - that weapon, it is _alive_ and _aware_ and it ... it hates everything. So yes -- my healing took time. And Divine intervention. I am lucky that Seraph did what he did to save me or I would be a corpse.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'No! He is the reason you are searching! I just tried to kill chemosh because I am upset at evil things right now . I was lucky I didn't win because I hate to hurt those of the Lost'.

You tell Cresom (in common), 'No one forced you to hurt him... if you want so badly to hurt someone, come hit me... I am who you are angry with'.

Cresom tells you (in common), ‘I would never hurt you '.

You tell Cresom (in common), 'Better me than a friend who does not deserve it...'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'He is no friend of mine. He is evil'.

You tell Cresom (in common), '*quietly* There are those of evil who you like. Who you are friends with.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), ‘I just don't normally kill people but something now makes me want to'.

You tell Cresom (in common), 'Ink, you swore you would never harm, is as evil as the sun is bright. I will spar with you if you feel like fighting.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'nod ink goes back a long long time but I feel like a fight'.

> c 'protection good'
You make the gesture necessary to invoke your spell.
You feel protected.

> c absorb
You make the gesture necessary to invoke your spell.
You now absorb directed magic.

> c shield
You make the gesture necessary to invoke your spell.
You lost your concentration.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'a spar isn't a fight '.

You tell Cresom (in common), 'Come to temple courtyard.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'You keep hurting yourself , so I will start hurting other people till you stop'.
Cresom arrives from below.
Cresom hugs you.

You tell Cresom (in common), 'That is as bad as what Seraph did when first I met him'.

You say (in common), 'If you want to spar, I will spar you. Though I cannot say I will be very entertaining.'.

You wear an ornamented black linen headdress and veil on your head.

Cresom says (in common), 'sister, I don't want to hurt you'.

You say (in common), 'You are saying you will hurt others to make me do something? Is that not what Seraph said? That he would take your soul if I did not sing of him?’

Cresom nods.
Cresom says (in common), 'but that seems to be the only thing you listen to '.

You say (in common), 'He is a GOD, Cresom!'.

Cresom says (in common), ‘I understand that '.

You say (in common), 'if Wish, at this moment, told me to fetch him a fresh fish, I would have to do it. Even if the Tempest itself was awaiting me at the dock.'.

Cresom says (in common), 'but I have Gods on my side'.

You say (in common), '... I don't, Cresom. I must obey.'.
You poke him in the ribs.
You say (in common), 'and so should you.'.
You say (in common), 'People are too disrespectful.'.

You say (in common), 'down'.

Entrance to Temple Courtyard
[Exits: west up]
You stand before a very ornate staircase. The solid marble steps and
polished oak railing lend strength to the temple atmosphere. At the
top of the stairs you can see the beginning of the courtyard.

Cresom arrives from above.
Cresom says (in common), ‘I am not . I have never really been scolded by a immortal '.

You say (in common), 'Perhaps I am just trouble on two belled feet, then.'.
You smile happily.

Cresom says (in common), ‘I respect everything I am told and would do so… but no one makes me hurt myself - no god ever'.
Cresom rests.

DarkClaw gossips, 'Welcome, Hadrian.  :-)'.

Cresom sleeps.

Hadrian gossips (in common), 'Hello. And does anyone want to be an id slave?  :)'.

You gossip (in common), ‘I am glad to assist with identifies. Please come to above the pit.'.

Hadrian bows deeply.
Hadrian leaves west.

You tell DarkClaw (in common), 'May I have your permission to enter?'.

Temple of the Lost
[Exits: west]
A large eye hovers in mid-air here, emitting a soft, purple glow.
(Dark Purple Aura) Chemosh is resting here.
(Dark Purple Aura) Pyre is resting here.
(Intense Dark Purple Aura) DarkClaw is here.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

DarkClaw smiles at you.

You give a sturdy wicker apple basket to Pyre.

Northern Avenue
[Exits: north east south]
You stand on the marble walkway that makes up Northern Avenue.
Although many feet have crossed this ground the marble is not worn
in the least. Darkclaw's temple is to the east.
The sky is cloudy and a warm southerly breeze blows.

You tell DarkClaw (in common), '*quietly* Congratulations, Sayyida, on your new bard.'.

You tell DarkClaw (in common), '*abruptly, almost defensively* Sayyida... do you think I am just a tool of evil?'.

DarkClaw tells you, '*looks at you in puzzlement for a moment* I don't believe so, Sami. What has you asking such a question?'.

You tell DarkClaw (in common), ‘I was accused of it today. *paces restlessly, fidgeting with her veil.*'.

You tell DarkClaw (in common), 'Do I blindly obey you?'.

DarkClaw tells you, 'Blindly? No. But then I haven't commanded you to do very many things.'.

You tell DarkClaw (in common), '...*turns to speak, then stops, and nods, bowing abruptly*'.

DarkClaw tells you, 'In fact, I commanded you to speak to me the other day and you did not. You only responded when your Sahib commanded you.'.

You tell DarkClaw (in common), '(shocked) ...I... disobeyed?!'.
Temple of the Lost
[Exits: west]
A delicious magic mushroom is here.
A large eye hovers in mid-air here, emitting a soft, purple glow.
(Intense Dark Purple Aura) DarkClaw is here.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.
Samiyah rushes in, and pleads, 'Tell me to do something else. Command it.'

DarkClaw smiles at you.
DarkClaw says, 'Hello, Sami'.
DarkClaw says, 'My apologies.'.

Samiyah blushes, ducking her head and concealing her face in one of the layers of her veil.
You say (in common), 'Sayyida'.
You say (in common), 'Forgive me... that was rude.'.

DarkClaw says, 'No offense taken. You wish to speak more?'.

Samiyah says meekly, this time, ‘I was going to ask if you might command me to do something else. I am trying to understand better...'
You say (in common), 'Why sometimes I must, but once I did not.'.

DarkClaw says, 'You were praying to your Sahib at the time. I would not have even commanded you had your Sahib not asked me to.'.

You blink.
You blink.

DarkClaw looks at you.

Samiyah says quietly, 'The Sahib asked it of you?'

DarkClaw nods once, a lock of her raven hair falling over one eye, "Well...it was more of a command from him."
DarkClaw chuckles, evidently amused.

Samiyah asks, her voice shocked, 'The Sahib ordered you to?'

DarkClaw says, 'You were not responding and I was...eager to find out what was troubling you.'.

Samiyah wrinkles her brow in thought.
You say (in common), 'Perhaps it was because I was seeking Him with all of my heart, that I did not have enough awareness to answer.'.

DarkClaw says, 'He was being quite stubborn and refusing to come to you because...'.
DarkClaw clamps her lips closed tightly and shakes her head.

Samiyah says quietly, "I was not worthy. I was weak. It angered him."

Pyre tells you (in common), 'Think you can get me a water container?'.

You tell Pyre (in common), ‘I can.. give me a moment? I speak with your Sayyida'.

Pyre tells you (in common), 'Of course'.

You say (in common), 'a moment, to go help your little one?'.

DarkClaw scowls at you, not angrily, but with a touch of scorn. "On the contrary, Sami, he feels you are quite worthy."

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

(Sami goes to Wintermeet and fights a Centaur Hunter with limited success, but is eventually able to obtain a waterskin and saddlebag, which she gives to Pyre.)

DarkClaw says, 'Welcome back.'.

You say (in common), 'Thank you, Sayyida'.

You say (in common), 'Pyre asked for some help'.

DarkClaw says, 'Were you able to assist?'.

You say (in common), ‘I did'.

DarkClaw says, 'Thank you.'.

You say (in common), 'though a bit bruised in my pride..'.

DarkClaw blinks.
DarkClaw says, 'Howso?'.

Samiyah rubs her side, where a dark bloodstain blooms.
You say (in common), ‘I expected an easy victory, but the centaur hunter nearly kicked my ribs in.'.

DarkClaw drops her gaze to follow your hand's movements, her eyes flaring briefly, almost unnoticeably, "Sami...there is something I should warn you of."

You say (in common), 'Yes, Sayyida?'.

DarkClaw says, 'It is...not wise to be in my presence when you are bleeding.'.

Samiyah's brow furrows as she frowns, looking troubled.
You say (in common), ‘I do not think you would hurt me.'.

DarkClaw says quietly, "Yet you know that I have hurt others in the past."

You say (in common), 'So the stories said, yes.'.

DarkClaw says, 'You are safe from me at the moment, but it is not always the case.'.

You say (in common), ‘I do not understand you and Ghazkull, Sayyida. If you hunger, why do you not eat?'.

DarkClaw hesitates, trying to find the words, not even knowing how, to explain. "You are aware that I have some good in me, yes? That I am not all evil.'.

You say (in common), 'Yes.'.

DarkClaw says, 'It is that part of me which stops me.'.

Samiyah considers a moment.
You say (in common), 'Should my compassion for the stag prevent me from eating a steak when I am ravenous?'.

DarkClaw scowls and flicks her gaze over the room in mild irritation. "Is it wrong for an immortal to take the life of a babe? How do you justify that?"

You say (in common), 'Must you kill, to be sated? Or can you not simply take .. some?'.

DarkClaw sighs and shakes her head. “No. That was merely said to point out that not everything makes sense.”

Samiyah considers her words carefully. 'Sayyida.. it seems to me that, even should a steak leap upon your very plate, you would refuse it out of nobility, and let yourself starve and weaken, out of love for the deer.'.

DarkClaw slumps backwards to lean against her altar, her voice softening, "Perhaps you are right. I just...am so used to fighting it. Perhaps I fear letting go."

Samiyah again pauses to choose her words carefully. 'When we walk the same path, over and over, Sayyida, it is difficult to see that sometimes, it branches… And there are other roads to take...'.

DarkClaw looks down at the floor in thought, a brief smile touching her lips, "A friend told me recently, in different words, that I had become too soft."

You say (in common), 'of that, I do not know.. but it seems that if you must warn all those around you, that they cannot be weak around you.. because of your own weakness and need... that is a predicament for a leader to be in. For do your people not look to you to be strong for them, when they are weak?'.

DarkClaw says, 'They do. And I guess I needed you to remind me of that.'.

You smile happily.
You say (in common), 'You did say that you thought that perhaps we were destined to meet, that I might help you see what you already know..'.

DarkClaw says, 'Now....as for our earlier discussion....'.

DarkClaw smiles briefly and nods. "You have a very good memory. No wonder you are an excellent bard."

Samiyah searches among her bags for a moment and pulls out a small leather book, it's pages ruffled and well-marked. She extends it gravely.
You say (in common), ‘I write everything down.'.

DarkClaw raises a brow, half-raising a hand in typical response, then thinking better of it. "That is yours and yours alone to see, Sami. Your secrets are in there. Your lessons. Your knowledge."'.

Samiyah nods, and slides the book back into its bag.

DarkClaw says, 'You are so much more than only a bard, though, if you would but see it.'.

Samiyah glances at you quizzically. "It is what I am, Sayyida. Seraph," (his name comes surprisingly easy to her lips, "says I shall lead the tribe one day.. but I am not overly sure of that. We shall see.'.

DarkClaw pushes away from the Eye and walks towards the bookshelves, scanning their contents as she moves down the length of the wall. She says, 'You have strength, determination, the desire to learn, compassion, tact...all great leadership traits.'.

DarkClaw stops abruptly, as if a realization suddenly struck her.

Samiyah asks, 'What is it, Sayyida?

DarkClaw says, ‘I was thinking more of what characteristics you possess...and the thought struck me...'.

Samiyah looks at you curiously, raising one eyebrow.

DarkClaw turns to you, her expression a mixture of emotion. "Perhaps I abstain...because I do not wish to put myself too far above them."

Samiyah blinks, confused. 'Forgive me, Sayyida, but I do not follow. You abstain because you wish to be close to mortals? not distant?'

DarkClaw shakes her head distractedly. "Not exactly...But to lead, sometimes you have to...stand aside and learn from others... And if I just take, whenever I wish, perhaps I fear my compassion will wane and I will start listening less and just take, take, take.'.

You say (in common), 'But now, Sayyida, you do not take at all -- not even when your people would.. I would guess? .. offer..?'.

DarkClaw looks away again, unable to hide her displeasure. "Some would not."

Samiyah takes a breath and releases it.
You say (in common), 'Sayyida.. the ways ... '.
You say (in common), 'In..'.
Samiyah sighs in frustration.
You say (in common), ‘I will not speak ill.'.
You say (in common), 'Forgive me.'.
Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

>w
Northern Avenue
[Exits: north east south]
The sky is cloudy and a cold northern gust blows.

The Kitchen
[Exits: west]
A small white fountain gushes forth here.
(Dark Cyan Aura) Kandan is here.

DarkClaw emerges from a thick layer of mist as it dissipates and seeps into the ground, a soft whisper filling the area.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

DarkClaw stands two feet in front of you, a stubborn look crossing her features, tension visible in her frame.

You say (in common), 'Sayyida?'.

DarkClaw says, 'You are right.'.

You blink.
You say (in common), ‘I am?'.

DarkClaw's lips twitch in half-amusement. "It is I who am being the weak one."

Samiyah says quietly, ‘I did not say so.'
You say (in common), 'Those words of disrespect were not my words, Sayyida.'.

DarkClaw shakes her head and takes in a deep breath, letting it out slowly, "No, you did not. I am just admitting that I am."

Samiyah clasps her hands and looks at you gravely. "What will you do?"

DarkClaw says, 'After I kick myself for letting it take not one, but TWO mortals to convince me?'.

Samiyah blushes, ducking her head and concealing her face in one of the layers of her veil.

You say (in common), ‘I do not know how our conversations turn in to those where you feel I am giving lessons, Sayyida... that is never, ever my intent.'.

Samiyah looks at you earnestly. "I... like you. I see often that you are unhappy. I wish that was different."

Samiyah's brow furrows as she frowns, looking troubled.
You say (in common), 'perhaps 'unhappy' is the wrong word, but..'.
You say (in common), 'there is a .. a .. tension? '.

DarkClaw smiles openly, "Restrained? Reserved?"
DarkClaw says, 'Unsated.'.

Samiyah says softly, 'That of one rejected, who is not being cared for properly.'

You say (in common), 'a Deity should be... full of energy and the love of their people. Resplendent and powerful and sated with their worship... or so they teach it in the desert... which..'.
Samiyah sighs heavily.
You say (in common), 'Is not always right.... but in this...'.
Samiyah looks at you earnestly.
You say (in common), 'Perhaps?'.

DarkClaw's smile fades quickly. "I have their love and their worship. It is my own fault that I am not sated, not theirs."

You say (in common), ‘I spoke to the Sayyida Katrana recently and had told her and Aoide that I had given up part of my spirit to Seraph. Sayyida Katrana was horrified, and bid Aoide never, ever do the same. I said that I had done it, and would do it a thousand times, if my God required it. If I knew of that need, and did not meet it, I would be failing in my duties. They did not understand it...'.
Samiyah frowns, tugging on one of her braids in frustration.

DarkClaw raises a brow. "I do not know Katrana very well. She and I have...for some reason...never really talked. We remain distant from one another."

Samiyah starts to speak, but then falls silent.
You nod.

DarkClaw says, 'But that is beside the point. I understand what you are saying.'.

You say (in common), 'And I will endeavor not to ... to..'.
Samiyah glances down at her bloody shirt.
You say (in common), 'Wave a steak in your face.'.

DarkClaw says, 'And I also understand that, by not opening myself fully to who, and what, I am...I am not giving all of myself to them. I just had not thought of it that way. Perhaps even that is not the exact way to word it.'.

Samiyah says quietly, in an odd way that makes you think she is not saying all: "The Sahib would do anything in his power to strengthen me."

DarkClaw says, 'I'm not being the Goddess I could be to them.'.

Samiyah looks at you sideways from beneath the edge of her veil. Her smile is light, and teasing. "I do not think that sitting on you would work. So I will not offer you a goblet, until you have already had .. well.. many!'. The smile slips off of her lips as she murmurs, 'Though.. to be honest.. it is not proper of me to offer it at all. Forgive me, Sahib.' Samiyah's hand slips up to her eyes, rubbing lightly.

DarkClaw smiles and shakes her head, a soft chuckle escaping her lips, "I would prefer to drink from the source, Sami, but thank you. A goblet would not keep it as warm.'. DarkClaw winks suggestively at you.

You shiver. Brrrrrrrrr.

DarkClaw shrugs, "It is what I am."

Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.
You say (in common), 'It is, Sayyida.'.

DarkClaw says, ‘I must go for now.'.

Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.
You wave.

DarkClaw grins and bares her fangs. Tendrils of fog rise from the ground, twisting their way up and around her form to shroud it from view.

The Warning

You tell Zephyr (in common), 'I need to warn you of something. I am not sure if it was just a dream or not, but....'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'but what lass?'.

You tell Zephyr (in common), 'I think that Sahib Wish said something about trying to destroy the shield.'.

Zephyr laughs.

Samiyah rubs her burning eyes.

You shrug.

Zephyr says (in common), 'he be hard pressed to be getting his hands on dat'.

You say (in common), 'I am not sure.'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'stupid nash god.’. Zephyr pulls out a bottle of rum and takes a sip.
Zephyr says (in common), 'dat nash god be chasing another ghost'.
Samiyah springs up from the bench, pacing.

You say (in common), 'Nash is .. is phooey as far as I am concerned and does not exist but Sahib Wish certainly does. So… I give you fair warning'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'not right in da head if ya be asking me. I no fear them fools she be safe locked away'.
Zephyr nods in recognition to you.
Zephyr leaves east.

Samiyah shifts restlessly, her hand falling to her side to check a weapon that is not there.

Samiyah paces a bit, pausing to rub her eyes.

Zephyr arrives from the west.
You say (in common), 'hello again'.
Zephyr nods in recognition to you.

Samiyah tries to sit and relax on one of the benches.

Zephyr says (in common), 'why are ya be 'stupid stubborn desert lass'.

You say (in common), 'Because Wish said so.'.

You say (in common), 'though it is impudence and I should stop'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'oh da foolish god dat believes in ghosts'. Zephyr takes a drink of rum.

Samiyah shifts and rises, pacing around the fountain.

Zephyr says (in common), 'whatcha be doin’ lass'.

Samiyah's hand slides to her hip as if to check a weapon that is not there.

Zephyr says (in common), 'need a nip lass'. Zephyr holds out the bottle.

Samiyah shakes her head no... Samiyah glances at it despite herself.

You say (in common), 'No.'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'soot yaself'. Zephyr takes a drink.

You say (in common), 'It would be weakness. I will show none.'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'den why ya be walking in here wearing a trail in da floor'. Zephyr looks surprised. Zephyr says (in common), 'da boogieman get ya?'.
Samiyah paces restlessly, shifting her shoulders.
Zephyr says (in common), 'ya be keep wearing dat floor out I needs to pay me dues to the lass downstairs'.

Zephyr stands up. Zephyr leaves west.

Samiyah's hand absently falls to her hip.

You gossip, 'a better buffet?'.

Samiyah gossips (in common), 'I should not have spoken. Your pardon, Sahib.'.

You gossip, 'hmmm....well, since you did not complete your question, I suppose I shan't have to answer it. I am not an easily offended Immortal. Your impudence is amusing, that is all. However, as with all God's, I suppose I am fickle.'.

Cantor arrives from the south.
Cantor bows deeply.

You bow before him.
You say, 'hello Cantor'.

Ebony gossips (in minotaur), 'better then pickled'.

Cantor says (in common), 'just exploring did not mean to intrude'.

Samiyah gossips (in common), 'I am trying to be good and mind my manners. Sometimes with better success than others.'.

You say, 'no intrusion'.

You say, 'All are welcome in my Coral Cave'.
You say, 'if they can get in, of course'.

Cantor says (in common), 'I like the description of temple '.

You say, 'thank you...I apologize for the...typo'.
Wish refers to the last sentence.
Wish points his 5th tentacle with disgust.

Cantor comforts you.

You make a vain attempt to comfort yourself.

You say, 'hmmm, you look a bit incomplete, Cantor'.

Cantor says (in common), 'no one follows you ?'.
Cantor says (in common), 'oh a friend told me I should try here '.

You say, 'Alas, my following is new, and small...but I do have some followers'.

Cantor says (in common), 'he gave me some extra stuff he had'.

You smile at him.
You say, 'If you are new to this realm, then I doubly welcome you'.

Cantor says (in common), 'yes that sami lady told me my name was close to another who once was here '.
Cantor says (in common), 'I picked it cause I started cleric'.
Cantor chuckles, evidently amused.

You smile happily.
You nod.
You say, 'Yes, there have been others with like names'.
You say, 'and Sami...she is certainly not all she appears...that much I have personally become aware of'.

You say, 'However, I was speaking of your description'.
You say, 'not necessarily your current garb'.

Cantor says (in common), 'so do you have a rule book or a requirement book of sorts ?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '... we did speak at length, did we not? or was that another fever dream?'.

Cantor says (in common), 'ah I see =D'.

You say, 'even a young human boy like yourself should have...well, something '.

Cantor says (in common), 'just started not much thought into such things yet'.
Cantor looks at Cantor.

You tell Samiyah, 'We spoke, Samiyah, yes. It was not a dream. Although parts of it may have been imagined.'.

You say, 'well, I am sure you will get to it in time'.

Cantor says (in common), 'ah dang i'm ugly'.

Wish looks on curiously.
You say, 'To me, all Humans are ugly.'.

Cantor chuckles, evidently amused.

You say, 'But I am sure, they say the same about me.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*nods slowly* I was sure of it... but then... not as much. Thank you, Sabih. That eases my mind somewhat.'.

You say, 'as for Alchemy rules and requirements, we have none of that'.
You say, 'however, there is an Alchemists' Code'.

Cantor says (in common), 'oh ?'.

Wish points nonchalantly to the north wall with his 2nd tentacle.
A small sea urchin begins crawling towards Cantor from the wall of the Coral Cave.

You tell Samiyah, 'I am glad your mind is at ease.'.
You tell Samiyah, 'However, I would not advise getting used to the feeling.'.
You tell Samiyah, 'You have done damage to yourself. And perhaps to other things in this realm.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*cautiously* I know I am not fully ... well.. the dreams linger.. and a sense that something is missing'.

Cantor says (in common), 'straight forward cannot claim ignorance if you have read them'.

You nod in recognition to him.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'I cannot compose myself enough to meditate.'.

You say, 'That is true. The Alchemists' Code provides freedom...guidance...and a warning.'.

Cantor nods.

You tell Samiyah, 'Something missing, you say? Or something...added..perhaps...'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'Sahib explained .. '.

You say, 'Should have any questions, please let me know'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'I will grow accustomed to them over time...'.
Samiyah tells you (in common), '*quietly* It was worth the price paid.. to understand.'.

Cantor nods in recognition to you.

The sea urchin nearly touches Cantor's foot.

Cantor says (in common), 'aren't those poisonous'.
Cantor chuckles, evidently amused.

You say, 'Do you mean this?'.
Wish points to the sea urchin.

Cantor nods.
Cantor nods.

You tell Samiyah, 'I doubt that very much, Samiyah. Does anyone ever become accustomed to a tumor that presses on the brain?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*blink* a what?'.
Samiyah tells you (in common), 'I do not know that word'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Yes, I suppose you would not.'.
You tell Samiyah, 'Do you have trees or cacti where you are from, desert woman?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'palms, yes'.

Wish grabs the sea urchin with his tentacle.
Wish pops his tentacle into his mouth.

Cantor says (in common), 'good ?'.

You say, 'sometimes my tentacles get messed up.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'have you ever seen strange, unnatural lumps on these palms? As if parts of them were growing out of control?'.

You smile happily.

Wish points to the eastern wall with his 6th tentacle.

Cantor says (in common), 'sorry am looking around'.

You say, 'please, take your time'.
You say, 'I too am in the midst of multiple...conversations...shall we say'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'yes - sometimes there is an... an ailment. It must be cut away else the palm will die'.

You say, 'So, please, do not take any significant pauses as me ignoring you.'.

Cantor says (in common), 'I shall not'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'do you say that there is such a thing in me now?'.

Wish begins to sweep up some darkly discolored sand near the entrance to the Coral Cave.

You tell Samiyah, 'I can only say what I suspect. And that is that these dreams...visions you are having...may not only be because a part of you is missing. Have you considered that something may have been added to you...and it is growing?'.

Cantor says (in common), 'sorry I forgot to wipe my feet'.

You shake your head.
You say, 'oh no, it was not you'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*stammers evasively* I .. er... the Sahib... I ... know why... it.. it will ... '.

You say, 'just some blood stained sand that needed sweeping up'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Did you think the Similus and the other objects of Seraph only take from their victims?'.

Cantor says (in common), 'oh that cannot be good'.

You say, 'oh it was not good...but...the victim did not die...yet'.
You say, 'Of course, some things are worse than death, are they not?'.

Cantor nods.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*evasively* I .. um.. have spoken to Seraph and He explained..'.

You tell Samiyah, 'How long have Seraph's toys been out of his control? Do you honestly believe even he still knows what they are? What they can do?'.

Cantor says (in common), 'I should go and grow and come back when I have '.

You say, 'as you wish, Cantor'.

Cantor bows before you.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*hesitantly* A long time.. but they were made for Him. He would know.'.

You say, 'May the Light of Lord Nash shine upon thee.'.

Cantor leaves south.

You tell Samiyah, 'A cobbler makes you a pair of shoes, Samiyah. You wear them, for a time, your feet molding them to yourself. And then, you hand them down to your younger sibling, or a poor hapless person on the street. And they wear them for a time. Do you honestly believe the shoe remains in the shape of your foot forever'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'You should have been a bard, Sahib.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'That is quite a compliment, Samiyah, and I appreciate it deeply.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'You explain things very.... convincingly.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Change, Samiyah. It is perpetual. It is the foundation of the world. I once said souls were immutable. I was wrong. Even they change all the time.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'It is hard to hold to one's own thoughts when speaking to you.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'That is only because I speak so much, desert woman.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Now, know this: The Similus it has Changed you...It is STILL changing you. But there is a reverse corollary. Tell me what it is!'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'what is 'corollary'?'.
Samiyah tells you (in common), 'the substance of your temple?'.

You tell Samiyah, 'hahaha~'.

You tell Samiyah, 'That is quite a guess, Samiyah, but no, the meaning of "corollary" is "A proposition that follows with little or no proof required from one already proven". The Similus has changed you...it is STILL changing you. What is the reverse of that proposition?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '....'.
Samiyah tells you (in common), '*shakes head* No.. that isn't ... He told me... '.

You tell Samiyah, '*sigh* Samiyah, you will discover the truth...whether you wish to or not, and Seraph has not worn those shoes in a long, long, time.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'You believe that my touch is changing Similus? '.

You tell Samiyah, 'Yes, desert girl. I do. '.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'when no other ever has? You said it yourself... how could such a thing be save for the imaginings of a stupid desert girl!?'.

You tell Samiyah, 'I never called you stupid, Samiyah. I would never do that.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*frown* You did not?'.

You tell Samiyah, 'And I stand by what I said. No, I have only called you "silly" Regardless, If I did call you stupid, then I was deeply mistaken. And please, accept my apology.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*blinks, kerflummoxed* There is no need. You are Immortal. You can speak as you
may.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Now, as for what I DID say...I said that these things happening to you were of your own doing. What I mean by this is that it has been YOU who has empowered the Similus. And, by empower the Similus, it has Changed you...it continues to Change you. And you have Changed it...and it continues to Change due to your empowerment.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'The Similus is its own thing.. I do not think the touch of any desert girl would change it.. any more than it would change a person by shaking their hand..'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Your belief...Did we not agree that belief is more powerful than...well, than almost anything?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'yes .. we did agree on Belief... in personages that exist.. but I did not sing to wake Similus .. it was awake already...'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Oh Samiyah. Everything is Changed in some form by even the smallest of encounters. In the end, it matters not what I think. You will discover the truth or untruth of it in Time.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*softly, troubled* I will speak of it with Seraph. He will understand and know what to do.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'My third stomach is growling now and needs to be filled.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'enjoy your meal, Sahib.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Yes, Seraph will know what to do. I am sure. Thank you, Samihyah. Hopefully it will not squirm so much going down. That gives me heartsburn.'.

=The Nature of the Pattern

The Coral Cave
[Exits: south]

Cordir fades into existence, wreathed in ebon flame and sable shadow.

You say, 'hello, Cordir'.
You say, 'welcome to the Coral Cave'.

Cordir gives you a piece of red volcanic glass.

You smile happily.

Cordir says, 'Hello, Wish.'.

Cordir: Hello Seraph

Seraph: hi

Cordir gets (Limited Edition) a sepoid plushy from (Tattooed) (Writhing) The Covenant of the Chosen.

You laugh.

Cordir gives you (Limited Edition) a sepoid plushy.

Wish hugs the plushy tightly.

Cordir says, 'a gift .'.

Seraph: what's new in the zoo?

You say, 'I shall treasure it!'.

You bow deeply.

Cordir: Wish is happy.

You put (Limited Edition) a sepoid plushy in a piece of red volcanic glass.

Wish: nod, I am

Cordir waves happily.

You wave.

Cordir gathers the shadows around herself, ebon flames outlining her for a moment.

Cordir: I however am irritated.
Cordir: so consider yourselves warned.

Seraph: why

Cordir: a myriad of reasons.

Cordir: I do not wish to discuss it.

Seraph: so I assume wish got the best of you

Wish: Who me?!
Wish: I just saw Cordir for the first time today.

Seraph: well she is mad and you are happy

Cordir: As usual, Seraph, you leap to the wrong conclusion.

Wish: well, if a brief encounter with me is that effective, I am powerful indeed
Wish: I won't kid myself, however
Wish: Cordir has said she does not wish to discuss it, so let us drop it and move to other things

Seraph: doesn't surprise me

Cordir: what doesn't?

Seraph: nothing
Seraph: well enjoy the silence

Cordir: *mutter*

Wish: and people think I am strange...

Cordir: are you speaking of me or of the departed?

Wish: the departed

Wish: You aren't strange, Cordir. You are moody.
Wish: me, I am even keel at most times.

Cordir: Moody?
Cordir: *considers*
Cordir: I prefer what Khore used to use.

Wish: *feels a rift coming on *
Wish: oh? what was that?

Cordir: Tempestuous.

Wish: hmmm... I suppose so. Although I always thought "tempestuous" implies a childishness that I do not associate
with you

Cordir: *wryly* Though before that, it was Mad One.
Cordir: which I will tolerate from none save him.
Cordir: lest anyone get ideas

Wish: I rarely have ideas
Wish: they are fleeting as a good tasting burp

Cordir: careful wish. your ... beak.. will grow if you tell such lies.
Cordir: You forget.
Cordir: I have known you a very long time
Cordir: and that which I did not witness, I have read in the Pattern.

Wish: indeed...and our long association has been to my benefit and pleasure..*bow*

Cordir: *smiles slightly* Only the naming of Rath as Anathema sorrowed me more then the day you were so named.
Cordir: You have a quick and facile mind. I have long enjoyed our conversations.

Wish: As have I. Now, as for my time as Anathema, I suppose it was a necessary Change for me at the time.

Cordir: ... and you are the only soul in this world quite as self-inflictedly broken as I.

You tell Cordir, 'Broken? I am not broken.'.

Wish: I am quite well, thank you, Cordir.

Cordir: *quiet sigh* Of course you are.

Cordir: well - that is.

Wish: Yes. Quite.

Wish: I wonder, Cordir, this Tapestry of yours. Can you read the frayed ends yet to be sewn?

Cordir: No.
Cordir: I can.. influence it.. somewhat.
Cordir: But I do not generally do so.

Wish: I am confused

Wish: I shall have to research this Tapestry of yours more.
Wish: For if you can influence it, then it is more than simply a record of events.

Cordir: *sharply* Neither you or Seraph need do so.

Cordir: It is all that is or has been or will yet be
Cordir: the Weave changes based on Choice
Cordir: that is all you need know.
Cordir: I do not read an unchangeable future. I read all possibilities.

Wish: *surprised* My apologies. I had not realized the Tapestry had an owner.

Cordir: a keeper.
Cordir: not an owner

Cordir: .. I apologize. That was more sharp than necessary
Cordir: Seraph has been ... tampering.
Cordir: and seeking to learn how to do yet more.

Wish: Apology accepted. Your reaction to my curiosity implied that you do not wish me to satisfy it.

Cordir: when you asked, in haste and existing irritation - I assumed the worst.

Wish: That is understandable. Even I, as even keel as I claim to be, am not always obvious in my motivations.
Wish: However, in this case, the source of my curiosity is deeper
Wish: I mentioned about reading the frayed ends
Wish: You say it is Choice that determines the Weave

Cordir: The interweaving of all outcomes yes
Cordir: which can be .. influenced or ...
Cordir: *falls quiet a moment*
Cordir: Threads can be tampered with
Cordir: altered.
Cordir: the Weave tangled.
Cordir: it can be cataclysmic.

Wish: By whom?
Wish: The very nature of the Tapestry begs the question.

Cordir: I can. I have.

Wish: If the Weave of the Tapestry is determined by Choice...must not there have been a First Choice that led to each
subsequent Weaving?
Wish: And, if the Weave can be altered, might not the First Choice be also altered?

Cordir: for the most part yes.
Cordir: Chance also plays a part it the weaving
Cordir: changing the weave of the past is enormously difficult.....
Cordir: and has profound consequences.

Wish: Is Seraph attempting to alter the Weave that has been, or the Weave that will be?

Cordir: that Will be.
Cordir: and what Is

Wish: Then, based on you descriptions, I have to respectfully disagree with you.
Wish: Seraph is not tampering at all.
Wish: He is simply making Choices which affect the Weave. Are not we all doing the same?

Cordir: He is attempting to alter Threads themselves.
Cordir: which in turn changes what will Be
Cordir: and wishes to learn how to manipulate the threads further
Cordir: of course I refused.

Wish: I believe I understand now.
Wish: I am about to say something.
Wish: You will take offense, I suspect.
Wish: But, friends must be plain with each other...and I do call you friend.
Wish: I perceive that you are possessive of the Tapestry. And more importantly, your power to influence it.
Wish: From my point of view, we are all trying to Change the Weave.
Wish: Seraph is no different.

Cordir: it has been my task for six thousand years.

Cordir: If I took your thread
Cordir: and I ripped from you your tentacles
Cordir: altering your thread to that of an elf
Cordir: would that not be upsetting?

Cordir: Transmutation, in your alchemical terms

Wish: What you speak of is not Transmutation, which is a metamorphosis from one thing to another. The first thing
never ceased to exist.

Cordir: Seraph admitted he would change a soul - a Thread - to that degree, did he feel it right to do so

Wish: What you speak of would not be upsetting in the least.

Cordir: Indeed?

Wish: for if you were to change the Weave of what was, then I would have never have had tentacles to be upset about
losing.
Wish: One may not be upset about losing what one never had.

Cordir: no you misunderstand

Wish: Yes, I must.

Cordir: You would know your loss
Cordir: the Thread does not change back through its course - at least.. not as he is doing it...
Cordir: but from that point in time.
Cordir: think of it as a knot or a splice

Wish: I think I understand the discrepancy in our discussion.

Cordir: the Tapestry is .. at its core. a reality and a metaphor.. so a bit hard to describe

Wish: Yes, but one thing you said I am unclear of

Wish: You said there is a Weave that was. A Weave that is. and a Weave that will be....or something like that.
Wish: Are you so sure of that? From my perspective, there is only a Weave that Was. And a Weave that Will be.

Cordir: there is the moment of Now.

Wish: I am not so sure there is.
Wish: Since each Now is instantly Was
Wish: either that, or we live in an infinite number of Nows.
Wish: and there is neither Was or Will be.
Wish: I do not see how all Three can simultaneously exist.
Wish: Quite a conundrum, do you not think

Cordir: *quietly* Some see a Tapestry. Some see Nash. Some see Oblivion and void.
Cordir: this is where the line between reality and metaphor blurs.

Unveiled

On the Dock
[Exits: east south west]
Flopping back and forth, a tadpole seeks the safety of the water.
With its gray and white plumage, this gull blends in with the fog.
Flopping back and forth, a tadpole seeks the safety of the water.
Gasping for breath, this fish flops about helplessly, seeking the water.
Gasping for breath, this fish flops about helplessly, seeking the water.
Fishing pole in hand, this half-elf hopes for a good catch.
Oar in hand, this half-elf fisherman heads for the pier.
With its gray and white plumage, this gull blends in with the fog.

The corpse of the fisherman turns its head and winks at you.

You shiver. Brrrrrrrrr.
Samiyah takes a steadying breath.
Samiyah closes her eyes.
Samiyah takes another breath.

The Crest of Took Hill
[Exits: north south up]
The sky is cloudy and a cold northern gust blows.
A statue of Bandobras Took stands by a small fountain.

Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

Bandobras Took bends down to tie his shoe, then straightens up again, solid as rock.

You blink.
Samiyah closes her eyes. Breathes.
Samiyah murmurs, 'No weakness.'
Samiyah opens her eyes.

Samiyah leaves up into the Vortex.

Beginning School Classroom
[Exits: north east]
You are in the middle of a large classroom. There are desks with young
children all around you.

The Crest of Took Hill
[Exits: north south up]
You stand on top of Took Hill, named after the legendary Bandobras Took,
the legendary hero who founded Hovelton. There is a fountain standing here,
dedicated to his honor. Looking around from up here you can see the river
flowing off to the west, with the forest beyond, and some small farms to the
north and east. Past the farms to the east, the Eastern Plains fill the
horizon. A small stone path heads down the hill to the north and south. This
would be a very nice, serene place if not for the strange and ominous grey
vortex swirling above.
The sky is cloudy and a cold northern gust blows.
A statue of Bandobras Took stands by a small fountain.

Someone says, 'ouch'.

You say (in common), '.. Seraph?'.

Someone nods.

You smile happily.

You say (in common), 'Hello...'.

Someone says, 'hello'.

You say (in common), 'What made you say that - 'ouch' ?'.

Someone says, 'watching you kill things'.

Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

You say (in common), 'I.. seem to be getting better at it.'.

Someone nods.

Someone says, 'so it seems'.

You say (in common), 'It's all the lyrical, though. Not really me.'.

Someone says, 'why do you check for a weapon'.

You blink.
You say (in common), 'what do you mean? I don't carry one. Well, I have a rapier I keep for disarming, but I don't have to use it very often.'.

Someone says, 'you keep checking for a weapon'.

You wield a finely crafted rapier.
You stop using a finely crafted rapier.

Samiyah's brow furrows as she frowns, looking troubled.
You say (in common), 'I don't know what you mean...'.

Samiyah spreads her hands wide, showing that she carries no weapons sheathed.

Someone says, 'it is fine'.

Someone says, 'so a lyrical helps you do those things!'.

Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

You say (in common), 'Yes! It is the rarest of them all. There are still a few I do not currently have but Pugilistic allows me to fight without weapons.'.

Someone says, 'and the lyrical is part of you?'.

Samiyah sits down on the grass, so that she can keep the statue in line of sight and still be pointed in the direction of your voice.

You say (in common), 'Until my spirit slips flesh, yes. Then, I will forget its song.'.

Someone says, 'then it is you doing it'.

You say (in common), 'I cannot do it without the Lyrical. Perhaps that's a better way to say it'.

You say (in common), 'May I ask you a question about Similus?'.

Someone nods.

You say (in common), 'When you bore it... Did you ever get the sense that it was alive?'.

Someone nods slowly.

You say (in common), 'Do you feel as if your presence, your connection to it, changed it in any way? '.

Someone says, 'my hate brought it to life I feed off of it and it me'.

Samiyah removes the decorative brooches holding her veil in place.
Samiyah unwinds the dark linen folds of fabric that cowl her hair.
Samiyah lifts the last drape that conceals her face.
You stop using an ornamented black linen headdress and veil.
Samiyah runs one hand distractedly through her braids.

You say (in common), 'So... Could you feel it, even when you were not holding it?'.

Someone sits down and thinks deeply.
Someone says, 'why remove your headdress and veil?'.

You say (in common), 'Because there is no need to be wearing it right now.'.

Someone sits down and thinks deeply.

Samiyah looks up, in the direction of your voice. 'Because I choose not to.'

Someone nods.
Someone smiles at you.

You say (in common), 'You have been clear that I cannot believe the truth of any of what I was told as a child.. So I have decided... after much thought.. I am already a very very bad desert girl. I sing, which is forbidden. And I talk to strangers, which is forbidden and I work magic... I sometimes touch people... all of these things - the Elders would punish me for. So if I do not live in terror and fear of them hunting me down to punish me for those..'.

Someone says, 'touch people?'.

You say (in common), 'why should I also abide the other laws.'.

Someone laughs.
Someone says, 'you live how you see fit'.

You say (in common), 'I will choose the laws I live by. And not simply blindly obey theirs. Ever again. And someday... I will go back, and I will tell Elder Salam exactly that.'.

Someone nods.
Someone says, 'I believe you will'.

Samiyah smiles ruefully, 'He will likely grab me by my braids and drag me to the tent of the Teacher...'

You say (in common), 'and I will kick his shins and tell him I know the Teacher's will better than he! But until that day...'.

Someone laughs.

You say (in common), 'I will choose.'.

Someone says, 'when he drags you to the tent I will be there'.

A shiver flows over her.
Samiyah asks quietly, 'And what will You do?'

Someone says, 'whatever I choose to do'.

Samiyah nods.

You say (in common), 'Sahib Wish and I spoke for a time today... He seems to believe that Similus was awakened by my touch.'.

Someone nods.
Someone says, 'perhaps'.

You say (in common), 'I told him that was not true -- it was awake and aware long before me... But he thinks that perhaps.. There is some part of Similus within me now, and some part of me within Similus. Do you think that is possible?'.

Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

Someone says, 'perhaps'.

You say (in common), 'You told me once, that if our souls were entwined, that you would feel all of my thoughts and emotions. Do you?'.

Someone nods.

Samiyah admits quietly, disappointment touching her voice: "I do not feel yours. But I suppose that is as it should be. Mortals should not know such things."

Someone says, 'in time'.

Samiyah smiles mischievously. 'Perhaps I need not bother talking out loud with you any more, if you can pluck the thoughts out of my head.'

Samiyah says slowly, 'I _do_ still feel your wings, from time to time. Though not as much as when I first woke. But I wasn't sure if it was just my imagination, like the other things I see happen, sometimes.'.

Someone says, 'it will come'.

Samiyah smiles faintly. 'I know someone who says that YOU are a figment of my imagination. An old wives tale to scare children. So perhaps I am truly insane, locked up in the infirmary in Nydia, unknowing this is all in my head.'.

A blinding flash occurs. When you can see again, Dimwit is standing before you.

Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

Someone says, 'oh'.

You say (in common), 'Hello, Dimwit'.

Dimwit grins happily.

You say (in common), 'I do not truly think that. But Wish keeps telling me that my mind is broken. It was a poor jest.'.

(long quiet pause)

Samiyah says quietly, 'I know that you exist. I have felt your wings and my eyes yet burn from when you gave me a part of your soul to save my life.'
Samiyah rubs those bloodshot orbs absentmindedly.

You sigh at the long silence.

(Sami leaves and goes about her tasks)

A Peaceful Glade in the Deepwood
[Exits: north east south west]
This shady glade is pleasantly quiet and peaceful. You can hear the
gentle sounds of flowing water to the north and east. You feel
at rest here.
The sky is cloudy and a cold northern gust blows.

Samiyah glances around, remembering Seraph's memories of this place.

Unveiled Part II

Altar of S'mierc'
[Exits: south west up]
A clearing has been made here. Several large stones make the circumference of a
circle that encompasses a huge tree stump. This looks to be an altar of sorts.
Away from the circle, leaning against a tree, sits a man. Above the circle is
a very strange phenomenon. It appears to be a swirling grey vortex.
The sky is cloudy and a cold northern gust blows.
A large rock has been carefully placed here.
A huge blood-stained tree stump is centered within the rocks.
Jacek rests against a tree, in deep contemplation.

Someone says, 'I am happy you decided to choose your path'.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

You say (in common), 'I am getting my wings. Slowly.'.

Someone nods.
Someone says, 'I always told you, we were one'.

Samiyah unpins her veil once more, having returned it to its place in your absence.
You stop using an ornamented black linen headdress and veil.

Someone gently touches your cheek with his fingers.

Samiyah closes her eyes at the touch, smiling.
Samiyah dips her head slightly in a bow, acknowledging the blessing.

Someone says, 'such beauty hidden away'.

Seraph has granted you the ability to see him when he is invis.

Samiyah ducks her head slightly, unused to compliments.

> l seraph
If Hell itself had a champion, it would look much like the unholy figure
that towers over you. Dressed from head to toe in black plate armor, the
unrelieved sable continues in the inky wings that arch upward. Weapons,
shield, and armor alike bears the evidence of battle - blood dripping in
a steady stream to pool at his feet. Thick shouldered, bearing the signs
of two gods - Kerriariadne and Katrana - worn still around his wrists, a
clearer picture of violence could not be drawn. His multi-hued hair - an
uninteresting brown at the top, fading to a pale white at the ends - has
been braided back, to stay out of his eyes during combat. His eyes seem
unusually dark, shadowed, until he lifts his head with an evil laugh, an
unopposed view granted of the burned holes that are all that remains. It
is a horrifying sight and he laughs at your discomfort. His crossed arms
draw your eye to the holy symbols still worn around his wrists: That of
Katrana and Kerriariadne - the gods that shaped him the most strongly.
As he returns your stare, you feel a strange tugging in your chest - a
sense of emptiness... as if, by his presence alone, he could steal that
which is most precious - your very essence. With a smirk and a flick of
his fingers, he releases his playful tugging on your spirit... For now.
Seraph is bathed in the essence of charisma.
Seraph is in perfect health.

Seraph is using:
<used as light> (Weak magic) a softly glowing blue gemstone
<worn on finger> (Moderate magic) the Ring of Angelic Council
<worn on finger> (Moderate magic) a ring set with desert opal
<worn around neck> (Moderate magic) a black plate gorget

<worn around wrist> (Moderate magic) a black bracer shaped like briars
<worn around wrist> (Moderate magic) a black bracer shaped like a sylph
<wielded> (Moderate magic) an ancient, bloody longsword
<worn with pride> (Artifact magic) (Glowing) (Humming) the Medallion of Godhood
<worn with pride> (Token magic) remnants of a tattoo, burned away

Samiyah does not say anything, but drinks in the sight of you with her eyes.

Seraph says, 'I am still the beast with no eyes'.
Seraph laughs.

You say (in common), 'You could have four heads and I would not care.'.
You say (in common), 'It is simply good to be able to see You again.'.

Seraph says, 'I know you don't believe it but I will witness the day you fall in love'.

You say (in common), 'No, Sahib, I do not believe it.'.

Samiyah smiles faintly.

Seraph says, 'I do'.
Seraph says, 'and when that day comes I will still watch over you'.

You say (in common), 'And yes - without your helm, your lack of eyes is painful to see, but not because it fills me with fear.. but because it makes me sad.'.

Seraph's head tilts and he looks around.
Seraph hisses: What is he doing?

You say (in common), 'Who?'.

Samiyah glances around, confused.

Seraph says, 'I must go '.

Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

You say (in common), 'of course, Sahib'.

Seraph kisses your forehead then leaps to the sky.
Seraph has removed your ability to see him when he is invis.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

Clarity

(Log by Ghazkull)

You tell Samiyah (in common), 'when you have finished your errand with your brother, may I speak with you?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'of course!'.
Samiyah tells you (in common), 'do you need me in person? or does this work?'.

You tell Samiyah (in common), 'in person would be better, I am in the Temple of the Lost, I have asked permission from DarkClaw for you to enter *smile*'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'it will take me a bit of time but I will be there'.

You tell Samiyah (in common), 'that is fine, I am good at waiting *chuckle*'.

Temple of the Lost
[Exits: west]
It is impossible to track here.
A large eye hovers in mid-air here, emitting a soft, purple glow.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'Soon! '.
Samiyah tells you (in common), 'I have but one bat wing left'.

Samiyah arrives from the west.
Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

You bow deeply.
You say (in elven), 'thank you for coming. I spoke with Darkclaw about a conversation you and she had about your recent offer.'.

Ghazkull chuckles to himself and you think you hear him say 'sit on!?'

Samiyah coughs.
Samiyah says (in common), 'well.. She was worried that you might bring me harm.'.

You nod.
You say (in elven), 'and she was right to be worried, from what I understand, I may find it difficult. However: If I understood your offer correctly, you simply wished to offer me a goblet of your blood?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'The Sayyida seemed to distain that idea.. So I do not know if it will do what you need it to do.'.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I do not feel comfortable being .. chewed on...'.

You say (in elven), 'I spoke with her about that'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'But I would be willing to offer what is needed, through a cup, yes.'.

You say (in elven), 'the... change would be complete.'.

Samiyah asks gravely, 'Are you accepting of that?'

You say (in elven), 'but I would need to feed to fully sate myself. I count you as a friend and would never knowingly, or willingly take what wasn't offered'.

Samiyah flashes a quick smile behind her veil.
Samiyah says (in common), 'I must ask my brother first. I.. my actions of late have been upsetting him'.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'and I had not realized how deeply. He attacked one of the Lost, he felt so frustrated. I do not want to upset Cresom further... so if it is a choice.. '.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'May he enter?'.

You ponder the question.
You say (in elven), 'I don't know that he can'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'he is a great mage, my brother'.

You chuckle.

Samiyah leaves west.
Samiyah arrives from the west.

You hear a distinct pop as Cresom's portal closes up.

Samiyah smiles happily.

Cresom makes a complicated-looking gesture.
Cresom draws a funny looking rune on Samiyah.

Temple of the Lost
[Exits: west]
It is impossible to track here.
A large eye hovers in mid-air here, emitting a soft, purple glow.
(Invis) (Dark Cyan Aura) Cresom is here.
Samiyah is here.

You bow before Cresom.

Cresom bows deeply.

look cresom
There isn't much to notice about this person. His clothes are ill-fitting,
and his face hasn't seen a razor since he left his mother's home. Yet...
something about the grace of the way he uses his hands, and a certain
ancient knowledge in his eyes bespeaks to his understanding of the ways
of magic. It would be easy to underestimate him - and many have, to their
peril. His gaze is steadfast, meeting yours without reservation.
Cresom has a special twinkle in his eye.
Cresom is in perfect health.

Cresom is using:
<used as light> (Moderate magic) (Glowing) a birchwood rod
<worn on finger> (Artifact magic) (Heathen) a simple ring
<worn on finger> (Artifact magic) (Heathen) a Wisdom signet ring
<worn around neck> (Invis) (Moderate magic) a golden medallion
<worn around neck> (Invis) (Moderate magic) a golden medallion
<worn on body> (Moderate magic) a breastplate of hardened leather
<worn on head> (Potent magic) a small striped insect, darting about quickly
<worn on legs> (Powerful magic) a pair of quilted cloth stockings
<worn on feet> (Moderate magic) worn shoes of a philosopher
<worn on hands> (Potent magic) blood drenched gloves
<worn on arms> The Emerald Vambraces
<worn about body> (Artifact magic) (Glowing) a minor globe of invulnerability
<worn about waist> (Moderate magic) (Bloody) a briar-wrapped length of blue chain
<worn around wrist> (Moderate magic) a reinforced leather bracer
<worn around wrist> (Moderate magic) a coiled strip of dauskdraug hide
<wielded> (Powerful magic) (Heathen) a finely crafted rapier
<wielded off-hand> (Moderate magic) a club
<worn with pride> a Pin of Mastery

Samiyah smiles fondly at Cresom. 'Anyone would be lucky to have a brother as protective.'

You nod.

Cresom says (in common), 'found this old stuff in the pit '.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I do not expect that Ghazkull will lose control and harm me.'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'If he does.. perhaps you could sit on him?'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'until he comes to his senses'.

You shake your head.
You say (in elven), 'I am not changed yet'.
You say (in elven), 'and I would wait for DarkClaw before attempting any such thing anyway.'.

Samiyah says (in common), '.. Oh. I thought that is why you needed me here.'.
Samiyah looks puzzled.

You shake your head.
You say (in elven), 'I wanted to clarify your offer'.

Cresom snickers softly.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Oh.'.

Cresom hugs Samiyah.

Samiyah blushes, ducking her head and concealing her face in one of the layers of her veil.

Cresom bows deeply.

Samiyah says (in common), 'well, I am not the brightest girl sometimes.'.

Cresom leaves west.

You chuckle.
You say (in elven), 'it is fine, I think I may have been a little misleading'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I am willing to give blood, to aid you in your Becoming.'.

You bow deeply.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Is it a .. a.. rudeness.. to offer it in a cup and not offer my wrist? I do not know the manners of such a thing.'.

You say (in elven), 'that... I'm not entirely sure. I would not expect you to offer your wrist as you stated earlier, you do not like the idea of being 'chewed on.
You smirk.

Samiyah says (in common), 'No, friends do not bite friends.'.

You say (in elven), 'and in all honesty, I currently am not comfortable with 'chewing on' people. Although I am sure
that will change'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'but.. friends help one another.'.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

Samiyah pauses.
Samiyah says (in common), 'I.. I do not think my spirit will affect my blood'.

You say (in elven), 'I shall speak with Darkclaw when she is next here. She, had some matters of an immortal nature to attend to.'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'but you should know that I was hurt recently, and my spirit is .. is.. different, now. But again -- you would be taking only blood, and not spirit, so..'.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'very well. When your Sayyida is ready.'.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'When you are ready. I stand ready.'.
Samiyah lays a hand across her chest, modestly lowers her eyes, and curtseys.

You say (in elven), 'I will speak with her when she returns'.
You nod.

You bow deeply.
You say (in elven), 'Thank you, Samiyah'.

Samiyah leaves west.

Doing Good

Cresom tells you (in common), 'Hello, Sister how are we today.'.

You tell Cresom (in common), 'I am doing well... and you? are you still angry?'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'not angry I don't get angry just don't like when I don't understand.'.

You tell Cresom (in common), '*nods* I am sorry that I am so difficult and troublesome a sister, making you upset and
worry.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'it is ok it will all fix itself I am sure of it everything always works out for me '.

You tell Cresom (in common), '*smile* My paladin brother. You inspire me, you know.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'think good and good things happen'.

(Cresom and Sami go on a number of adventures, running here and there, but separate for a bit.)

it may just be so. A stairway leads up to another hallway above.

You smile at him.

The Gallery of Wisdom
[Exits: west]
You stand in the holy place of Hutt, Lord of Wisdom. It is clear that this
masterpiece of a temple was built upon the foundations of an older Academy.
The lower sections of the walls are ancient timbers, dark with age. The upper
areas and ceiling are newer wood, carefully joined with the old, making a
beautiful blending of modern and ancient. Display cases of glass and oak
alternate with stunning oil paintings and towering book cases. Proud banners
of deep blue and gold drape down from the ceiling, guiding the eye up to where
a mural of Plato covers the surface.
(Blue Aura) A sword lays across the cover of this large golden book.

Samiyah falters, 'chilling out to kill someone?'

You say (in common), 'your mark faded, brother'.

Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

Cresom makes a complicated-looking gesture.
Cresom draws a funny looking rune on you.

You smile happily.

You thank Cresom heartily.

Cresom says (in common), 'ok I got to run for a bit '.

Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

Cresom hugs someone.
Cresom hugs you.

You say (in common), 'be well, brother'.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I am off to the ghost town.'.
Samiyah leaves south.

(Time passes)

Samiyah tells Aoide (in common), 'I have words that I need shared with the Wyldess... can you help?'.

Aoide tells Samiyah (in common), 'absolutely'.
Aoide tells Samiyah (in common), 'where are you, friend?'.

The Vortex Master grants you admittance.

The Crest of Took Hill
[Exits: north south up]
The sky is cloudy and a cold northern gust blows.

Samiyah tells Aoide (in common), 'took'.

You hear a distinct pop as Aoide's portal closes up.
Aoide makes a complicated-looking gesture.
Aoide draws a funny looking rune in the air.

Aoide looks at Samiyah.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I shared these words with Zephyr.. but he had drunk a great deal of rum and I do not think he will know or care. I spoke to the Wish.. to Wish..'.

Aoide says (in common), 'yes?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'and the last thing he said, was to ask what I thought would happen if the Sahib's things - his weapon, helm, and shield - were destroyed. I think he.. Wish.. is going to try and take the shield and that is what I wished the Sayyida to know.'.
Samiyah smiles happily.
Samiyah says (in common), 'if you would tell her?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'Of course.'.

Samiyah makes a gesture of thanks, bowing slightly over her clasped, henna-dyed hands.
Samiyah rubs absentmindedly at her bloodshot, aching eyes.

Aoide says (in common), 'You believe that the Lord Alchemist will try to destroy these things?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I do.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'and you...'.
Aoide says (in common), 'approve?'.
Aoide says (in common), 'fear?'.
Aoide says (in common), 'could care less?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'No.'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'I do not approve.'.

Aoide nods.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I do not think he can destroy Similus..'.

Aoide says (in common), 'does he have the other two in his possession already? or still only Similus'.

Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Similus is too old. Too wise. Too... alive.'.

Aoide frowns.
Aoide says (in common), 'wise? really, Sami? That is what you think of it?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Wise in the way of an old serpent. Wise in the ways of .. of one of the elders of my Tribe. . . and that is not a compliment.'.

Aoide nods.
Aoide says (in common), 'And what of Sagan's helm? Do you believe that Lord Wish will try to take it as well?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Yes.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'Would you like me to tell her that as well?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Yes. Please'.
Samiyah makes a gesture of thanks, bowing slightly over her clasped, henna-dyed hands.

Aoide says (in common), 'or only warn her about the shield because Z was..impaired'.

Aoide nods.
Aoide says (in common), 'I will'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I meant to tell Sagan directly but have not seen him. Zephyr, I told, but .. yes. Impaired.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'And perhaps you will see him before I, but I will tell him as well'.
Aoide nods.

Samiyah says (in common), 'If I do.. I will.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'Samiyah...'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Yes, Sayyida?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'I know that you have much to accomplish today in the way of mobhunting, but... when was the last time you slept? You look -exhausted-'.

Samiyah shakes her head and says, 'I do not wish to sleep. I slept too long, and could not wake... and fear to sleep again'.

Aoide says (in common), 'I can understand that fear but if you tire yourself to exhaustion, you will burn yourself out'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'oops, mish is going to resell my score...'.

Aoide nods.
Aoide curtseys gracefully.
Aoide waves happily.

Samiyah smiles, slightly evasively.
Samiyah leaves south.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Ghazkull... usually, when people offer to help you.. it is nice to take them up on it within some reasonable time frame.'.

Ghazkull blushes.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I understand, Samiyah'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'If I am not worthy to help you, you and your Sayyida could have just said so.'.

Samiyah rubs absentmindedly at her bloodshot, aching eyes.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'there have been circumstances that have been beyond our control and you yourself have not been... well'.

Samiyah snaps, 'I am FINE!'

Evie tells Samiyah (in common), 'I surely will :-)'.

Samiyah tells Evie (in common), '*nods and frowns* Please do. '.

Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

Samiyah glances at her reflection in the fountain water and grimaces.
Samiyah takes a moment to wash her hands and then bathes her face in the chill water.
Samiyah forces herself to rise and pace the room, so as not to sleep.

Samiyah closes her eyes. Takes a slow breath. Releases it.
Samiyah breathes, the words barely audible: No weakness.
Samiyah whispers a prayer for strength.
Samiyah opens her eyes and squares her shoulders, determined.

DarkClaw raises a brow at Sami, her eyes narrowing slightly.

Samiyah nods, one hand lifting to still the chimes in her veil.
Samiyah says (in common), 'a moment.'.

Samiyah frowns in irritation at the sound.
Samiyah says (in common), 'is there .. a specific ... manner of this thing? A way it should be done?'.

Ghazkull chuckles, evidently amused.

DarkClaw says, 'Samiyah...I know of your displeasure for Belgarion, but he is our ordained and I WILL NOT have him ignored in my presence. He deserves at least that much respect from you.'.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.
Samiyah says (in common), 'He does not, Sayyida.'.
Samiyah leaves west.

Angriff throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!

DarkClaw growls. Grrrrrrrrrr...

Angriff ftells, 'ok belgarion ready?'.

Ghazkull ftells, 'she is definitely a hotheaded one'.

Angriff ftells, 'i should kill her'.

Entrance to Temple Courtyard
[Exits: west up]
Samiyah is here.

Angriff arrives from above.
Angriff leaves west.
Angriff arrives from the west.
Angriff leaves west.

Samiyah gives no bow, simply looks at DarkClaw.

DarkClaw growls, whipping towards you. "I don't care WHAT you do outside of my temple, but in OUR home, that is the least you can do. I have been very understanding, I think, of the tensions between you two.'.

DarkClaw sighs.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I was there for Ghazkull. And out of .. of kindness... to him.... I thought to show him aid.'.

DarkClaw says, 'I know you were, but you made it a point to acknowledge all others BUT him.'.

Samiyah explodes. "Tensions!?! He ATTACKED me! Without provocation! Without reason. Simply ... man-hurt-feelings! He is lucky I did not address it more directly than simply ignoring him.'.

DarkClaw sighs wearily and rubs a hand over her temples.

Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

Samiyah says (in common), 'YOU yourself apologized for his deed - but he never has. Instead, he mocks me. Still, I try and help your people, keep my heart open to the Lost... But I will NOT honor him and I will NOT ...'.
Samiyah shakes in rage.
Samiyah rubs absentmindedly at her bloodshot, aching eyes.

DarkClaw says, 'I am not asking you to honor him. But he IS my ordained AND one of my children. So, please understand...'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'That it is better for me to bow and humble myself before the one who broke our friendship, than for him to apologize?'.

Samiyah looks at DarkClaw curiously, raising one eyebrow.

Belgarion arrives from the west.
Belgarion empowers the aqua crystal sphere.
Belgarion leaves west.

Samiyah says (in common), 'If you command it , Sayyida, it shall be done.'.

DarkClaw says, 'I did not ask you to bow. You did not bow before the others. You simply nodded.'.

Belgarion arrives from the west.
Belgarion empowers the ruddy crystal sphere.
Belgarion leaves up.

Samiyah says (in common), 'If he keeps casting things on me, there will be no kindness.'.

DarkClaw raises an eyebrow.

Belgarion arrives from above.
Belgarion leaves west.

Samiyah says (in common), 'He empowered a sphere and I felt a spell. I do not know what it was. If he casts on me again, I will strike him in return. I will not turn my cheek again.'.

Ghazkull prays, 'the temple is empty now'.
Ghazkull prays, 'except for me'.

DarkClaw sighs. "Do as you see fit. I'm tired of being in the middle."

Samiyah blinks.

DarkClaw says, 'I wouldn't stop you even if I could. He has it coming. I was not aware that he was troubling you beyond the first attack either.'

Samiyah says (in common), 'Lady, you just asked me to honor your Ordained, and twice in as many moments, he sought to cast spells on me in your presence'.

DarkClaw says, 'As I just stated, I wasn't aware of that until now. I was only aware of the one attack.'.

Samiyah repeats herself. "Just. Now." She gestures at you. "Right in front of you."

DarkClaw says, 'I am saying I asked you to acknowledge his presence BEFORE I knew about that.'.

Samiyah says bitterly, 'and yet, witnessed with your own eyes, it changes nothing.'
Samiyah murmurs, 'Seraph was right.'
Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.
Samiyah leaves west.

Samiyah tells Ghazkull (in common), 'I am sorry. But your ... brother... is being aggressive and casting spells and I do not feel safe entering your home.'.

Ghazkull tells Samiyah (in elven), 'my brother is no longer here, however I respect your wishes, where shall I meet you?'.

The Kitchen
[Exits: west]
Any experienced adventurer can tell you that it isn't always easy to
find food. For new adventurers this task is even more difficult.
Originally this room was built to feed those adventurers who could not
do it for themselves. Dues negotiations with guild members forced
cutbacks in the staff and building maintenance so that all that is left
now is a fountain where you can still get a drink.
A small white fountain gushes forth here.

Samiyah sits down on the edge of the fountain, shaking.

Samiyah tells Ghazkull (in common), 'I am in the kitchen.'.

Ghazkull tells Samiyah (in elven), 'one moment'.

DarkClaw tells Samiyah, 'I did not ask you to honor him or even acknowledge him after I learned of it. I'm not sure what you're expecting of me, Sami.'.

Entrance to Temple Courtyard
[Exits: west up]

Ghazkull arrives from above.
Ghazkull comforts DarkClaw.

Ghazkull prays, 'she has asked me to come to the kitchen, are you doing okay?'.

DarkClaw tells Samiyah, 'I am trying to tell you that he did not do that in my presence until after I made the demand. And I have not said anything further about honoring him or acknowledging him.'.

Ghazkull leaves west.

DarkClaw tells Ghazkull, 'Dealing with a stubborn bard!'.

The Kitchen
[Exits: west]

Ghazkull arrives from the west.

Ghazkull bows deeply.

Samiyah gets a delicate emerald crystal goblet from a saddlebag.
Samiyah gives a delicate emerald crystal goblet to Ghazkull.
Samiyah says (in common), 'hold that, if you will.'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'I cannot manage the knife and the goblet and my wrist.'.

Ghazkull puts a small wooden cup overlaid with glyphs in bag made from Belgarion hide.
Ghazkull chuckles, evidently amused.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'of course'.

Samiyah ducks her head and murmurs, 'I practiced. Or tried to.'

Ghazkull gasps in astonishment.

Samiyah gets a finely crafted rapier from a sack of ill-gotten loot.
Samiyah wields a finely crafted rapier.

Ghazkull holds the goblet under Samiyah's wrist.

Samiyah slides the rapier along the inside of her arm, catching the veins but not the tendons.

Blood immediately wells forth.

Ghazkull tells DarkClaw (in elven), 'hehe, yeah, we're in kitchen'.

DarkClaw tells Ghazkull, 'She's not speaking to me.'.

Ghazkull tells DarkClaw (in elven), 'she's cut her wrist'.
Ghazkull tells DarkClaw (in elven), 'in kitchen'.

It flows in a strong trickle down the curve of her wrist and falls....
The crimson fluid's scent fills the room.

DarkClaw emerges from a thick layer of mist as it dissipates and seeps into the ground, a soft whisper filling the area.

Ghazkull looks at the fluid trickling from Samiyah's wrist.

The cup slowly fills, droplets flowing freely down her dusky skin.
The heady scent calls to you.

Ghazkull looks hungrily at the goblet.

Samiyah watches the level of blood in the goblet, raising her other hand, ready to put pressure on the wound.

DarkClaw says, 'Wait...'.

Ghazkull's eyes flicker momentarily, acknowledging the presence of DarkClaw.

Samiyah does not continue her movement, frozen, at the Immortal's command.

Blood continues to well forth, spilling over her fingers and into the near-full cup.
The crimson liquid reaches the cup's lip.

DarkClaw looks to Sami, a mixture of emotions on her features, along with a look of questioning.

Samiyah's arm begins to tremble, the droplets splashing.

DarkClaw whispers, "Are you sure, Sami?"

Samiyah says quietly, 'I have said that I would do this thing.'
Samiyah asks quietly, 'May I move?'

DarkClaw says, 'You may, of course.'.

Samiyah lays her hand over the cut, pressing hard to stop the flow.

The cup brims over, blood spilling onto the floor.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'Samiyah'.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I thank you'.

Samiyah wraps a strip of linen around her arm and sits down abruptly on the fountain's edge.
Samiyah says (in common), '.. if you were human, I would make you bread... '.
She shrugs slightly.

Ghazkull glances questioningly up at DarkClaw, 'So it is finally time'

Belgarion tells DarkClaw (in common), 'everything ok?'.

Ghazkull chuckles at his own joke, since none of you would.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'part of me always thought this was a bad dream'.

DarkClaw nods once to Ghazkull. "If you are sure."

Samiyah watches the droplets dance on the edge of the goblet, and then down at the floor where a spattering of droplets marks the stones.

DarkClaw says distractedly, "Sami...I can seal that for you if you wish."

Samiyah says firmly, 'No, Lady.'

DarkClaw tells Belgarion, 'As alright as it's going to be.'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'as a wise bard once said to me, the only way is forward.'.

DarkClaw says, 'Very well.'.

Ghazkull bows before Samiyah.
Ghazkull raises the goblet to his lips.
Ghazkull tips the goblet slowly, grimacing slightly as the liquid reaches his taste buds.
Ghazkull swallows and starts to lower the goblet.

Samiyah smiles crookedly. 'Desert bard. Has a bit of a gamey taste to it. Not a cultured, refined vintage.'

Ghazkull's eyes seem to become even more focused and he raises the goblet to his lips tipping it further this time.
Ghazkull drinks deeply and intensely, emptying the goblet completely.
Ghazkull looks around the room.
Ghazkull blinks.

Samiyah watches more closely, her hand falling to her hip, as if preparing to unclip a weapon, if need be.

Ghazkull runs to the corner of the room and vomits uncontrollably.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'Star...'.
Ghazkull vomits again.

Samiyah blinks in surprise at the vomiting, and dips a bit of linen into the fountain, wetting it. She offers it mutely.

DarkClaw whispers, "That's normal, Ghaz."

Ghazkull nods in recognition to you.
Ghazkull stands up, looking around the room once more.
Ghazkull blushes.

Samiyah again offers the linen, not realizing it is with the hand that was cut.

Ghazkull stares past the linen at the cut on the bard's wrist.

Samiyah gestures with the rag. 'You have .. soil.. on your face..'

Ghazkull raises his hand to his face, brushing the spattered liquid aside, his eyes still intently focused on the bards wrist.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'No!'.

Samiyah blinks.

DarkClaw moves to stand between Ghazkull and Sami. "Focus. You have had all you can have from her."

Ghazkull nods in recognition to you.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I made a promise to her.'.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'but... it is, compelling...'.

DarkClaw searches Ghazkull's face, "It is...overpowering...but you must fight it."

Samiyah says, "I am the baker. Not the bread..." Her tone is wry, at first, but slides off into a mumble as she sits down hard on the floor.

Ghazkull looks at DarkClaw, his face a multitude of emotions. Anger, Hunger, Thirst.

DarkClaw nods once, "You're strong. You can do it. There are...others you can feed from."

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I cannot stay here'.
Samiyah leans back against the fountain's edge, her face pale from blood loss and exhaustion.

DarkClaw says, 'Then go.'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I must go'.
Ghazkull leaves west.

DarkClaw produces a loaf of bread and offers it to Sami.

Samiyah raises a shaking hand in refusal.

DarkClaw raises a brow, "Why do you refuse?"

Samiyah says faintly, 'Because I do not want it.'

DarkClaw says, 'You should eat to regain your strength.'.

Samiyah shakes her head. 'I do not need to eat.'

Ghazkull tells DarkClaw (in elven), 'if you are able, please come to me.'.

DarkClaw sighs and puts the bread down next to the fountain and takes her leave. "As you wish."

DarkClaw grins and bares her fangs. Tendrils of fog rise from the ground, twisting their way up and around her form to shroud it from view.

Samiyah draws her injured arm in against her body, holding it to her chest.
Samiyah lays her head against the cool stones of the fountain, shaking in weariness.
Samiyah get a delicate emerald crystal goblet, tucking it into a pouch.

Samiyah says to herself, through clenched teeth, 'No weakness, girl.'
Samiyah says to herself, through clenched teeth, 'Get. Up. Desert. Girl.'
Samiyah levers herself up into to unsteady legs, using the fountain for support.
Drops of blood from her wrist flow onto the stones and the surface of the water.
Samiyah staggers to the door, and out to the hall.

Samiyah half-falls onto one of the benches near the warmest of the pools, the steam enveloping her.
Samiyah murmurs, 'NOW I can sleep... Ghazkull, I hope helping you was worth having to wait.'

Samiyah sleeps.

On Top Of Cillidellia
[Exits: south west]
(Token magic) A huge loom seems to grow from the floor here.
(Invis) (Dark Purple Aura) Ghazkull is here.

Ghazkull blinks as the smoke clears.

DarkClaw says, 'How're you feeling?'.

Ghazkull walks softly over to the loom, running his hands lightly over it, lost in memories.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I was born here.'.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'not many know that, as I made Loth-Llorien my home from an early age'.

DarkClaw says, 'Why did you move?'.

Ghazkull sits down and thinks deeply.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'it's a very isolated land between here and Safehaven, the only way to get anywhere is by boat unless you can fly. But when things got too much, i'd come up here. Something about this loom used to 'centre' me if you understand my meaning?'.

DarkClaw mumbles distractedly, "I believe so."

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I am truly lost'.

DarkClaw searches your features and shrugs lazily, "Perhaps you are merely just found."

Ghazkull's lips move as he ponders the statement, finally he breathes, 'The Tower'
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'you did indeed find me, at great personal risk to yourself, and you saved me'.

A student arrives from the west.

Ghazkull chuckles, evidently amused.

DarkClaw smiles softly and reaches out to brush her knuckles across your cheek, "I would have done it differently, were I able."

Ghazkull glances at the student, his gaze wandering to the bared throat.

Ghazkull utters the words, 'vampiric touch'.
Ghazkull's vampiric touch devastates a student!

Ghazkull attacks, but a student manages to scramble out of the way.

Ghazkull gets 30 gold coins from the corpse of a student.

Ghazkull sinks his teeth into the students neck biting down hard.

Samiyah tells Pyre (in common), 'little bard'.
Samiyah tells Pyre (in common), 'come to the kitchen'.

Pyre tells Samiyah (in common), 'a few minutes? taking out a little last aggression on some guys in the newbie area.'.

Pyre tells Samiyah (in common), '(just a couple minutes?)'.

Samiyah tells Pyre (in common), '(in char) *sighs* Fine. Yet again, I will wait on the Lost.'.

Pyre ftells, 'Anyone ever heard this one before? Just get better with hailstorm!'.

Pyre ftells, 'You tell Samiyah (in common), 'We're Lost.....it takes us longer to find places.'.'.

DarkClaw watches you quietly, a brief lick of her own lips as she inhales the sweet scent.

DarkClaw ftells, '*snicker* True enough.'.

Pyre ftells, 'she said something about yet again having to wait on Lost.'.
Pyre ftells, 'I responded with that. :)'.

Ghazkull's eyes close and he clutches the student closer to him, knees buckling under the extra weight.

DarkClaw ftells, 'Who is she waiting on?'.

Pyre ftells, 'No idea.'.
Pyre ftells, 'Shall I ask?'.

DarkClaw ftells, 'No'.

Pyre ftells, 'nod'.

Angriff ftells, 'i dunno but i should kill her'.

DarkClaw ftells, 'She and I are...not on good terms at the moment.'.

Ghazkull starts to twitch as the students blood fills his body.

Pyre ftells, '*doh* That's a bummer. Unless it's not?'.

Ghazkull ftells, 'Please do not kill her'.

Angriff ftells, 'i WILL!'.

Ghazkull ftells, 'she has.... helped me greatly today'.

Angriff ftells, 'yes but we be chaotic evil'.

Ghazkull ftells, 'I know, I ask only that you do nothing today, until I have spoken to her once more.'.

DarkClaw reaches out a hand and clamps it around your arm, her voice firm, "Stop, Ghaz. You cannot drink dead blood."

Belgarion ftells, 'you and who are not on good terms?'.

Ghazkull releases the lifeless corpse, slumping to the ground.

Angriff ftells, 'darkclaw you thirsty?'.

DarkClaw ftells, 'Always'.

Angriff ftells, 'good cuz boy i gotta pee bad'.

Ghazkull starts to shiver.

Pyre ftells, '(not right)'.

Angriff ftells, ':P'.

Pyre ftells, 'Anyone ever heard this one before? firestorm of the gods!'.

Ghazkull lips start moving, soundlessly.

Pyre gossips (in common), 'Is Samiyah the only non-Lost on?'.

Angriff ftells, 'either she is laughing......or she is about to rift me'.

Pyre ftells, 'Anyone ever heard this one before? acid blastin' around the christmas tree!'.

Pyre ftells, 'I think maybe she's in shock.'.

Pyre ftells, 'Anyone ever heard this one before? No minotaur is to blame!'.
Pyre ftells, 'Anyone ever heard this one before? The man with all the attunements!'.

Ghazkull goes silent and still.

DarkClaw watches the change, knowing there is nothing she can do but wait it out, a soft sigh escaping her lips.

DarkClaw murmurs, "It will be better soon"

Ghazkull's breathing gets stronger and faster, a rasping noise escaping his lips.
Ghazkull's eyes flicker open and he stands, groggily.
Ghazkull stumbles against the guardrail.

Pyre ftells, 'Ghazkull even, I have an item for you. mind if I pass through you DC?'.

Ghazkull ftells, 'can it wait a few?'.

DarkClaw murmurs, "Easy. Sit for a bit first."

Pyre ftells, 'sure.'.

DarkClaw ftells, 'You can sac it, Pyre. I'll wait before giving it.'.

Pyre ftells, 'Ok.'.

Pyre sacrifices a delicate emerald crystal goblet to you.

Ghazkull sits down, his head resting against a guardrail support.
Ghazkull rests.

DarkClaw reaches down and runs a hand over the loom idly, distant memories taunting her.
DarkClaw murmurs, "How do you feel?"

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'different'.
Ghazkull laughs at himself. Let's all join in!!!
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'what an understatement.'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I feel hungry'.

DarkClaw whispers, "You will always feel that...to an extent."
DarkClaw continues, "It is part of our curse."

Ghazkull shrugs, 'I feel other things, anger still, I feel embarrassed for what happened in the kitchen.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'but the overriding feeling is hunger'.

You nod in recognition to him.

DarkClaw says, 'You have to learn to fight the thirst...to never let it take control of you.'.

Ghazkull looks at DarkClaw, 'How do you manage it?'

DarkClaw smirks and shrugs lightly, "We have no choice. Should we let the thirst take control...we would lose ourselves entirely."

Ghazkull stands up.
Ghazkull steps away from the guardrail, taking a step towards DarkClaw.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I must learn to control something that is this compelling!?'.

Ghazkull looks back at the corpse.

DarkClaw nods once. "Yes. It gets easier...in time."

Ghazkull bends down and reaches into a pocket of the students robe, you hear a chink as though a couple of coins have knocked together.

Ghazkull murmurs softly, 'for your service'

Ghazkull stiffens suddenly, 'She is here'
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I cannot face her, I nearly broke my promise to her'.

DarkClaw shakes her head.
DarkClaw says, 'You ARE strong enough.'.

Samiyah arrives from the south.
Samiyah checks on Ghazkull's health.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

Ghazkull nods slowly, his gaze moving to the bard.
Ghazkull starts to tremble.

DarkClaw whispers, "Her blood will ALWAYS call to you, but you must NOT listen."

The corpse of a student decays into dust.

Samiyah leaves south.

Ghazkull closes his eyes and takes a few deep breaths.

DarkClaw says, 'I will always be here for you, not always at your side.'.

Ghazkull nods.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'Please, Leave me for now, there is much I must contemplate'.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'and... Star?'.

DarkClaw nods, "Yes, Ghaz?"

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'Thank you'.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'for being here'.

DarkClaw shakes her head sadly, "There is nothing to thank me for."

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'for saving me'.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'for giving me a home'.

DarkClaw smiles suddenly, "Okay, for that you can thank me."
DarkClaw winks suggestively at Ghazkull.

Ghazkull laughs.

DarkClaw says, 'Call if you should need me.'.

Ghazkull nods.

DarkClaw gathers the shadows about her and departs.

Ghazkull sits back down and stares into the loom, lost in thought.

Temple of the Lost
[Exits: west]
A large eye hovers in mid-air here, emitting a soft, purple glow.
(Dark Purple Aura) Angriff is resting here.

DarkClaw ftells, 'Mana is full!'.

DarkClaw snuggles Angriff.

Ghazkull ftells, 'in that case'.
Ghazkull prays, 'summon'.
Ghazkull arrives suddenly.

Ghazkull snickers softly.

DarkClaw ftells, 'Oh, Ghaz.'.
DarkClaw ftells, 'I have that thing from Pyre for you.'.

Ghazkull ftells, 'oh'.
Ghazkull ftells, 'cool'.

DarkClaw tells Ghazkull, 'But I think it might be too late? Hehe.'.

DarkClaw gives a delicate emerald crystal goblet to Ghazkull.

Ghazkull tells DarkClaw (in elven), '*laugh*'.

Samiyah tells Angriff (in common), 'I would like to get more scores for Pyre, but I do not have locate. Would you be willing?'.

Samiyah tells Angriff (in common), 'If you can locate them, I can fetch them for him.'.

The Apology

The Kitchen
[Exits: west]
A small white fountain gushes forth here.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'Samiyah'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'yes?'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I... wanted to apologize'.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'for what I nearly did'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Nearly doing, is not doing.'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'Thinking about doing, is not doing.'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'Only action is doing.'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I saw you in Cillidelia, how did you know I would be there?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I looked for elf places. You were not in Loth Lorien. Were I able to go home.. I would, when I am deeply hurt. It is where we all retreat.'.

Ghazkull nods.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I did not wish to intrude. You seemed... '.
Samiyah gestures a bit vaguely. 'Busy. But.. recovering. So...'.

Ghazkull closes his eyes and takes a few deep breaths.

Samiyah says (in common), 'There was scrubbing to do, so I came here to do it.'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'you shouldn't have to do that!'.

Samiyah shrugs and says (in common), 'It needed doing. Such things are women's work.'.

Ghazkull nods.
Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I must go now, I have much learning to do'.

Samiyah nods, one hand stilling the charms in her veil.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'but Thank you once again'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'you are welcome, butterfly.'.

Ghazkull smiles wryly, 'butterfly'

Samiyah blinks. 'I.. did not mean that as an insult.'
Samiyah says (in common), 'I did not mean to use the word at all. It is my term for.. becoming.'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'it just took me by surprise'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'it is my own word for what I seek to become.'.

Ghazkull nods.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I meant nothing bad.'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I took no offense, I was just, surprised. It is something to consider.'.
Ghazkull bows before Samiyah.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Be well, Ghazkull. I am glad that you have Become.'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'and you, Samiyah'.
Ghazkull leaves before he loses what little control he has mustered.

A Warning Heeded=

Samiyah tells Sagan (in common), 'well...'.
Samiyah tells Sagan (in common), 'the Squishy One - Wish'.
Samiyah tells Sagan (in common), 'He and I were speaking'.

Sagan tells Samiyah (in common), 'I see...'.

Sagan tells Samiyah (in common), 'Thank you for the warning. '.

Samiyah tells Sagan (in common), 'of course'.

In The Temple of the Lost: The Ritual

(Log by DarkClaw)

Temple of the Lost
[Exits: west]
A large eye hovers in mid-air here, emitting a soft, purple glow.
(Dark Purple Aura) Belgarion is here.

Ghazkull arrives from the west.
Ghazkull rushes in, 'Is everything okay? Sami said something might be up'

You ftell, 'If anyone would like to join us in the temple for the ceremony to restore Belgarion's sight, it is going to happen now.'.

Evie arrives from the west.
Evie rests.

Pyre arrives from the west.
Pyre smiles happily.
Pyre rests.

You smile happily.

Evie smiles happily.

You say, 'Ghakull, you have the artifacts?'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I do'.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'with the Help of Null'.

You say, 'Shall we begin?'.

Ghazkull nods.

Evie smiles happily.

You say, 'Lost Ones, I have brought you together today... '.
You say, 'to conduct and witness the Summoning Ceremony to restore Belgarion's sight with the aid of the Elements.'.
You say, 'Ghazkull, may I have the Earth artifact, please?'.

Ghazkull gives you the perpetual strength of earth.

DarkClaw takes the perpetual strength of earth from Ghazkull and holds it in her hand.

Ghazkull closes his eyes briefly, taking a few deep breaths as he does so.

As it touches her hands, a large band of brown energy flows from the perpetual strength of earth into the Eye of the Lost.

The earth below your feet begins to rumble and shift, causing you to seek your balance and find your strength.

You say, 'The Wind, Ghazkull, please?'.

Ghazkull opens his eyes, his lips twitching into a faint smile.
Ghazkull gives you the incessant power of wind.

You say, 'Thank you.'.

DarkClaw takes the the incessant power of wind from Ghazkull and holds it in her hand.

A yellow band of light flows from the incessant power of wind into the Eye of the Lost.
A slight breeze blows into the temple and seems to caress your form lovingly, stirring knowledge and memories banked long ago.

Evie's face beams towards the whispering breeze.

You say, 'And the Might of Water next, Ghaz?'.

Ghazkull gives you the crushing might of water.

DarkClaw takes the crushing might of water from Ghazkull and grasps it.

As the energies flow once again to the Eye, this time the colour of blue, you feel drops of mist on any exposed parts of flesh, restoring your well-being.

You say, 'And lastly, the Scarring Touch of Fire, please.'.

Ghazkull pats his pockets.
Ghazkull starts rummaging through his bags.
Ghazkull looks in his pockets again.
Ghazkull gives you the scarring touch of fire.

DarkClaw nods and whispers, "Thank you, Heartbringer."
DarkClaw takes the the scarring touch of fire from Ghazkull and wields it.

Zarathos has entered the game.

A blazing red beam of energy shoots out towards the altar and an oppressive heat fills the room, the Elements seeming to intensify as one.

Evie beams a smile at Zarathos.

Zarathos beams a smile at Evie.

Without warning, there is a sharp CRACK and the Eye of the Lost splits down the middle, an arm reaching out in each of the four cardinal directions.

Ghazkull gasps in astonishment.

Subsequently, brilliant pillars of light explode from the crack in the eye.

Zarathos sits down and thinks deeply.

One red, one blue, one brown, and one white.

Shifting and writhing, the shafts of energy finally begin to coalesce and take on a single, corporeal form.

The room calms and a beautiful, mesmerizing voice fills your head. 'I am Khazri, Goddess of the Winds. Who summons me?'

A gurgliing voice comes from one of the beams at the altar. 'I am Neso, Goddess of Water. Who summons me?'

The ground beneath you rumbles once again and a gravelly voice says, 'I am Temblor, God of the Earth. Who summons me?'

The heat within the temple once more becomes overpowering and a crackeling voice speaks, 'I am Fiamme, Goddess of Fire. Who summons me?'

You say, 'It is I, Sacred Ones, in need of your gifts.'.

The energy spills from the Eye of the Lost and flows across the room towards DarkClaw, coiling around her form and sliding over her curves in a visual display of a caress.

As one they ask, 'Star, why have you called us?'

You say, 'Belgarion has been blinded by a spell that was uncompleted. I would call upon you to heal him.'.

A tendril of the energy lifts and curls as if seeking out the ordained mentioned, then the entire mass breaks away from Star and glides across the floor to Belgarion.

The colors seem to shift and take over dominance as each Element speaks in turn, first being Temblor. 'You called for my powers recently.'

Fiamme's voice follows suit. 'And mine also.'

Belgarion lowers his head and nods.

A small arm of water reaches out and lifts Belgarions head. 'Do not be ashamed, my son. We heeded your call.'

Neso continues, 'We have been watching your progess with Star.'

As one, they address DarkClaw together. 'Yes Star, we have been watching, waiting for the moment you would be in true need of us.'

Khazri's mesmerizing voice takes over. ' We will heal him for you, Star, but we will channel the power by way of you, for he is not only ours, but belongs to us through you.'

DarkClaw crouches down and embeds each of the Elemental artifacts into the floor of the temple, surrounding Belgarion and her, in their appropriate cardinal directions.

The energy from the Gods shifts and moves, creating an unbreakable circle around DarkClaw and their corresponding artifacts.

A radiant, prismatic light suddenly shoots from the cracked eye and turns into a sparkling shower that decends upon Belgarion's shoulders.

In one voice you hear a slight whisper, 'Now Star.'

DarkClaw says, 'Spirits of the North, powers of winter, guardians of earth and stone...'

DarkClaw says, 'ground us with the perpetual strength of the Earth and reforge what was taken!'

The Earth begins to shift and tremble, making it difficult to keep yourself upright, yet your awareness reminds you that you cannot break the circle from either side.

DarkClaw says, 'Spirits of the East, powers of spring and the freedom of flight...'

DarkClaw says, 'guard us with the incessant power of Wind and restore the vision that was once his!'

An unexpected blast of wind tears through the room, winding its way around you, pushing at you mercilessly, forcing you to stand firmer and guard your position.

DarkClaw says, 'Spirits of the South, powers of summer, sprites of the dancing flame and you who teach us courage and the power of truth...'

DarkClaw says, 'protect us with the scarring touch of Fire, the same fire that once burned away his gift of sight!'

Once again, heat begins to rise, gradually building to an almost unbearable temperature.

DarkClaw says, 'Spirits of the West, powers of autum, Lady of the seas and tides of being...heal and shield us with the crushing might of Water!'.

Abruptly, the artifacts within the floor seem to shatter and explode and the circle of energy breaks, suddenly drawing the heat back inward along with the air supply.

Then darkness...

...and rain. A gentle rain, washing over whatever skin you have exposed, soothing you,

Seeping into the floor of the room as if it were completely made of Earth.

Belgarion falls to the ground in a heap.

DarkClaw lets out a cry of distress and crouches down alongside Belgarion, her gaze and hands moving over him slowly, with purpose.

Again, the voices of the Gods speak as one, 'He is fine, Star. He will sleep for a time. There is much power he was still holding within.'

Their voices continue, stronger, firm. 'You must know this though, Star...he is now bound to the Elements.'

'And you...we were never lost to you. You shut us out. Should you do so again...' The warning is evident in their tone.

DarkClaw nods hesitantly and lowers her gaze, acknowledging their words.

The voices seem to surround Belgarion and grow louder, 'Both you, Belgarion, and Star, are beyond the reach of the Fallen One now. As such, Belgarion's soul will never be within reach either.'

Ghazkull gasps in astonishment.

Belgarion awakens and slowly gets to his feet.

Ghazkull claps his hand over his mouth to quiet himself.

Belgarion glances around the room.
Belgarion looks at Evie.
Belgarion looks at Ghazkull.

Evie hugs Belgarion.

Belgarion looks slowly across the room to Darkclaw.

Belgarion hugs Evie.

Evie tugs at Ghazkull's sleeve with a smile.

Ghazkull looks at Belgarion.

Belgarion slowly walks to Darkclaw.

Ghazkull hugs Evie.
Ghazkull snickers softly.
Ghazkull ftells, 'you only had to ask if you wanted a hug evie'.
Ghazkull ftells, 'no need to hint like that :P'.

Evie ftells, '*snicker*'.

Belgarion looks deeply into Darkclaw's eyes.
Belgarion says (in common), 'dear one'.

DarkClaw smile softly at Belgarion, "Yes, love?"

Belgarion kneels before Darkclaw.
Belgarion says (in common), 'I am forever at your service my love'.

DarkClaw blinks at Belgarion and raises a brow, "You always have been. Were you thinking of changing your mind at one point?"

Belgarion grins evilly.
Belgarion says (in common), 'never that'.

You chuckle.

Belgarion wraps his arms around Darkclaw and squeezes.
Belgarion looks to the Gods in the room.
Belgarion says (in common), 'I thank you for your aid in this Sacred Ones'.

The Gods reply as one, 'You are welcome, Belgarion, and your Goddess should be pleased she may call upon us once again.'

The energy breaks apart, each pillar returning to the Eye of the Lost through the crack, the crack sealing up as if it was never even broken.

Zarathos waves happily.

You ftell, 'Take care, Z. *hugs*'.

Evie beams a smile at Zarathos.

Evie waves goodbye to Zarathos.

Zarathos ftells, 'i was saying bye to the elementals'.

Zarathos ftells, 'lol'.

Ghazkull ftells, 'hehe'.

Belgarion ftells, 'lol'.

You ftell, 'ROFL!!!'.

Evie grins evilly.

Ghazkull ftells, 'I got that one!'.

Ghazkull ftells, '*roll*'.

Evie pokes Zarathos in the ribs.

Zarathos grins evilly.

Belgarion hugs Ghazkull.

Belgarion says (in common), 'thank you'.

Belgarion says (in common), 'for all your help'.

Belgarion looks at Zarathos.

Ghazkull shrugs.

Ghazkull says (in elven), 'I promised'.

Belgarion bows before Ghazkull.

Belgarion says (in common), 'i am forever in your debt'.

Ghazkull takes out a quill and some parchment, 'can I get that in writing?'
Ghazkull snickers softly.

Belgarion laughs.

You grin evilly at him.

Zarathos looks at Belgarion.

Evie snickers softly.
Evie whispers "Quick, get it in writing!"
Evie blinks.
Evie looks around innocently.

Ghazkull prays, 'sorry, I don't know why but i'm suddenly in a really jokey mood :P'.

You tell Ghazkull, 'No reason to be sorry!'.

Zarathos leaves west.

Ghazkull prays, 'there's been too much sombreness around here to my mind recently :P'.

Zarathos ftells, 'lol ghost of belg outside temple'.

You ftell, 'Thank you, everyone.'.

The Sahib, Displeased=

Nasha's Home
[Exits: south]
This is the home of Nasha the Weaver. It is furnished simply, with a
small bed, shelves with small trinkets, and a chest of clothes. Though
she weaves for a living, it appears her joy is in providing fabric and
garments for others, rather than herself. The articles found here are
of moderate, modest hue, and simple cut and design. A few bolts of
fabric lean against one wall, providing temporary storage space for the
full shop. The exit to the weaving store lies to the south.

Someone smiles at Samiyah

Samiyah says (in common), 'Hello..'.

Seraph has granted you the ability to see him when he is invis.

Samiyah smiles happily.
Samiyah removes the decorative brooches holding her veil in place.
Samiyah unwinds the dark linen folds of fabric that cowl her hair.
Samiyah lifts the last drape that conceals her face.
Samiyah stops using an ornamented black linen headdress and veil.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Sahib.'.

Seraph says, 'hello dear one'.

Samiyah bows her head respectfully.

> l seraph

Seraph says, 'how are you?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I am ... I am angry and disappointed.'.

Seraph says, 'why?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'with myself, for trusting stupidly.'.

Seraph says, 'trusting who'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'DarkClaw. Who can I no longer name Sayyida.'.

Seraph says, 'oh what happened?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'You were so right, Seraph.'.
Samiyah looks down at her hands, embarrassed.

Seraph says, 'was I?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'She does not lead the Lost.'.

Seraph nods.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I went there to help one of her people. Belgarion - he was there. So .. I simply ignored him and focused on Ghazkull, who I was there to help'.

Seraph nods.

Samiyah says (in common), 'She became angry that I ignored her lover and said that he deserved respect and acknowledgement in his home. I said that he did not, and left. She became angry and followed me. Belgarion twice entered the room, empowering spheres to affect me with spells, while she stood
there and she either did not care or did not understand. I told her I would not turn my cheek again if he cast on me a third time. She kept blathering on about how she did not know what he was doing -- when he was doing it right in front of her. So..'.
You shake your head.
Samiyah says (in common), 'She is not Sayyida.'.

Seraph says, 'your choice'.

Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

Samiyah says (in common), 'but you were right... and I should have listened.'.

Seraph says, 'sometimes you have to learn things for yourself'.

Samiyah sighs.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.
Samiyah stills the chimes, as if the sound irritates her.

Seraph says, 'you do realize her dog and other people will hunt you'.

Samiyah nods.
Samiyah says (in common), 'I do. I expect it.'.

Seraph says, 'its is up to you to run or stand and fight but they are like a pack of wolves'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I cannot fight.... with weapons but I am a bard and I have other tools.'.

Samiyah rubs absentmindedly at her bloodshot, aching eyes.
Samiyah says (in common), 'How is your strength?'.

> l seraph

Seraph says, 'i am fine'.

Seraph says, 'you must sleep soon'.

Samiyah confesses, 'I am afraid to sleep..

Seraph says, 'why?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I am afraid that I will have bad dreams and be unable to wake. I get no rest. Only... Similus.'.

Seraph says, 'you will always wake. The vision you will adjust to'.

Samiyah says slowly, 'Sometimes, it feels ... As if he hangs at my hip, waiting to be used, thirsty for it.'.

Seraph nods.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Is that because of your spirit, or because my mind is broken?'.

Seraph says, 'your mind is not broken'.

Samiyah closes her eyes in relief. Oddly, she asks, 'Say that again?

Seraph laughs.
Seraph says, 'your mind is not broken'.

A rigid tension leaves her body, as if she had been bracing herself against something.

Seraph says, 'so tell me how did you help the wanna be vampire'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Oh. He was hungry. '.

Seraph says, 'so'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I gave him something to drink. '.

Seraph sits down and thinks deeply.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Like any child on the street - except he doesn't eat bread. I didn't let him bite me. Friends don't bite friends.'.

Seraph asks slowly...what did you give him?

Samiyah says (in common), 'a cup of blood.'.

Seraph's teeth grit together...say again?

The shadows seem to surround Seraph

Samiyah looks alarmed at your tone, and says hesitantly, 'He was trying to Become, and he was hungry and no one would help him... so I offered to. The ..Lady... DarkClaw had made him wait and wait, and I told him I would give him my blood to help him, but only in a cup. No biting..

Seraph screams in a demonic voice.....YOU DID WHAT?

Samiyah drops to her knees, head pressed to the floor, in abject humility and supplication.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I helped him - fed him - like I would anyone who was hungry and in need! His fellows were not helping him... so I did!'.

Darkness starts to take over the room engulfing every bit of light.

Seraph's voices booms from every angle in the room.
Seraph screams ....YOU ARE LINKED TO HIM.

Samiyah sits up, back on her heels, still kneeling, her eyes huge and dark. 'No one said I would be.. in fact, he seemed to fear me afterwards! I do not feel any link to him... I do not sense him, or know where he is..'.

Seraph tries to compose his voice.....your blood he will always want. Your blood flows threw his veins '.

Samiyah says bitterly, 'Then he will be just like the rest of the Lost.'

Seraph gathers himself.

Samiyah forces herself to rise and stand upright before you.

the darkness fades back allowing light to come in

Seraph says, 'it was your choice '.

Samiyah says (in common), 'No one told me it would be a bad thing. Not DarkClaw, not Ghazkull. If it offends you, I apologize - that was not my intent. I just saw a hungry .. boy... and wanted to help.'.

Seraph says, 'do you think they would'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Yes - I did. More the fool I am.'.

Seraph says, 'well it was your choice'.

Samiyah says quietly, 'Yes, Sahib.'

Seraph gasps as he realizes what you did.
Seraph has removed your ability to see him when he is invis.

Samiyah blinks in surprise.

Someone says, 'i must leave'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Seraph?'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'was it something I did?'.

Someone says, 'no'.
Someone steps into the shadows.

Samiyah sighs.
Samiyah runs her hands through her braids in frustration.

Rest

Samiyah tells Aoide (in common), 'where might i find you, Sayyida?'.

Aoide tells Samiyah (in common), 'I am resting in my temple. Do you know where that is?'.

Samiyah tells Aoide (in common), 'May I enter?'.

Aoide tells Samiyah (in common), 'of course'.

Within a Grand Hunting Lodge
[Exits: west]
Massive beams of dark, ancient pine form the walls and ceiling of this enormous
hunting lodge. Trophies hang upon the wall, ranging from a simple twelve point
buck to the scaled head of an ancient red dragon. The chamber is laid out
symmetrically with rows of tressle tables and wide, stone fireplaces to either
side of the main corridor. To either side of the main door, twin staircases
spiral upwards towards the lofts where the hunters who live here take their
rest. The floor is strewn with sweet smelling rushes and fur hide rugs. In the
north-west corner, a small door leads out to the pens and stables. At the far
end of the lodge, a semi-circular raised platform holds the throne of the Lady
Huntress. The scent of a fresh kill and roasting meat fills the air, and the
sound of the hunting-hounds baying causes your blood to rise in your veins,
suffused with an intense joy you cannot explain.
(Red Aura) An enormous, empty black iron cauldron hangs above an unlit firepit.
(Light Red Aura) Lady Aoide, The Grand Finder, is resting here.

Samiyah smiles happily.
Samiyah says (in common), 'Hello'.

Aoide curtseys gracefully for you.
Aoide says (in common), 'Greetings, Samiyah'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Do you have room in a bag?'.

Aoide looks at Samiyah.

Aoide says (in common), 'I do'.
Aoide says (in common), 'what can I hold for you?'.

Samiyah smiles back wearily.

Aoide says (in common), 'my goodness'.

Aoide says (in common), 'have you not slept yet, Sami?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'For a short time. After I .. um.. helped ... Ghazkull.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'helped?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I did not want to sleep until that was done, in case I could not wake. And the dreams..
are getting very bad, so I try not to sleep.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'how did you...help...Ghazkull?'.

Samiyah says simply, 'He was hungry. And his own people would not feed him.'

Aoide purses her lips.

Aoide says (in common), 'would that not make you...one of his kind?'.

Samiyah's brow furrows as she frowns, looking troubled.
Samiyah says (in common), 'NO!'.

Aoide says (in common), 'or not because he is some sort of inbetween? I admit that I do not know the lore'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'No, I cut my wrist and bled into a cup'.

Aoide says (in common), 'ah - let me see'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'and then the Sa...Lady DarkClaw told me to wait and it spilled onto the floor..'.

Aoide gestures for your arm.

Samiyah extends her left arm, a nicely healing wound along the length of it.

Aoide nods.
Aoide says (in common), 'not infected then'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'No.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'very good. I suppose I can have no complaint'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'So then he drank, and then it came back up..'.

Aoide winces. Ouch!

Samiyah wrinkles her nose in both disgust and irritation.
Samiyah says (in common), 'and then he ran away. Now, it makes him uncomfortable to see me.'.

Aoide frowns.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Which ... neither of us knew would happen'.

Aoide says (in common), 'so he is still hungry?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'the Say..Lady.. did not tell him about that part. or tell me.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'but she knew?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'She knew.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'did she say why?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I have not spoken to her directly of it but he has. I do not seek speech with her.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'no?'.

Samiyah says firmly, angrily, 'No.'

Aoide says (in common), 'I do not mean to pry, but..why? You once spoke freely with her it seemed'.

Samiyah breathes a moment, then tries to explain.

Samiyah says (in common), 'You know that her Belgarion attacked me for no reason'.

Aoide nods.
Aoide says (in common), 'Yes, I had heard'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Well, she knows that he was wrong - she apologized for him, but I told her that she could
not as it was his wrongdoing. Since then, there have been no apologies, no overtures and no forgiveness. She told me
he would be present - when I helped ghazkull - but I just ignored him, trying to keep the peace. But ignoring him,
angered her, and she took me to task for it, saying she would not stand for it in her home - that he was Ordained and
beloved and I would acknowledge him.'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I said I would not, and left. It angered her.'.

Aoide frowns.
Aoide says (in common), 'I can imagine... but I do not know that I can say you were wrong'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'As she and I spoke, he twice entered the room, empowering spheres and casting spells on
me. I do not know what they were but even though she was there to see it, to witness him doing it, it did not seem to
matter'.

Aoide frowns.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Seraph told me that she did not control Belgarion.. and I cannot disagree with him on that
any more... for I have seen it. So. I seek her out no longer.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'so... where will you go? The last I spoke to you, your Sahib had left you and now you find
no solace with the Lost Ones'.

Samiyah says softly, 'He heard my prayers. He returned.'.

Aoide nods.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Though He is angry with me for helping Ghazkull, for he knew of the bond that would be
created -- though I had not asked him about it.'.

Aoide nods.
Aoide frowns.
Aoide says (in common), 'well, it is creepy but you help. That is what you do'.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'As I said then, to Ghazkull, and to his Lady, and to the Sahib: If he was starving, and
ate bread, I would buy him bread. But he does not. so... It just upset me so that his own people stood by and watched
and did nothing to help their brother.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'I can see why'.

Aoide says (in common), 'and so you wander and fear sleep'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I do. Though Seraph promised me that I will be able to wake, if I need to rest. Though the
dreams will remain.'.
Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

Aoide says (in common), 'always?'.

Samiyah says carefully, choosing her words. "He has .. helped me.. so that I will not ... not lose track of who I am,
not become entangled in them. And that over time, I will become more accustomed to them. But they will remain.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'and if the items were destroyed?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'and how will he help you? He has already toyed with your soul more than once'.

Samiyah says firmly, 'Similus cannot be destroyed.'

Aoide says (in common), 'I know you trust him but...Does he even *know* who you are in order to preserve it?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'He does.He has held my spirit in his hands, when it slipped from my flesh, kept it safe
until I awoke once more.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'it seems to me that everything created can be destroyed, though maybe not by one weaker than
he who made it'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Similus was created by the Vampire God, Khore.. who exists that is more powerful, save the
Highest Ones? And why would They take any notice of such a plot?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'I do not know. I am no theorist'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Nor I...'.

Aoide says (in common), 'but there is power in three. Perhaps Three gods'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'but that which has a soul cannot truly die... and Similus has a soul.'.
Samiyah shivers slightly. 'I have felt it.'

Aoide says (in common), 'then perhaps it can be contained'.
Aoide comforts you.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Perhaps it could. I do not know. Did you pass along my warning?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'I have not yet seen either my lady or her hound but I will not forget'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Sagan said that he had received a message from the Wyldess so I assumed you told her... He
does not like the idea of the Nashites taking his .. the.. helm.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'no, I imagine he would not. We have not always been friendly with the Nashites'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'They are not entirely friendly folk.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'not always'.

Samiyah's quick giggle is a surprise.

Aoide smiles at you.

Samiyah rubs absentmindedly at her bloodshot, aching eyes.

Aoide says (in common), 'would you care to sleep? While I keep watch?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I am going to go and ...'.

Samiyah blinks in surprise.
Samiyah says (in common), 'You would do that?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'of course. You may pick the place, or you are welcome here. I will play for you if you
like'.

Samiyah smiles happily.

Aoide gets a black laquered ebony and brass clarinet from bag made from Daisy hide.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I would like that very much.'.

Aoide holds a black laquered ebony and brass clarinet in her hands.
Aoide closes the thick iron-bound doors.

Samiyah finds a bit of unoccupied fur rug.

Aoide plays a light, but slow tune.

Samiyah lays down, settling her head on her clasped hands.

Gentle clarinet music floats through the lodge.

Samiyah smiles, loosening her veil for comfort, and settling down.

Aoide peeks subtlely at Samiyah.
Aoide resumes playing, even softer.

Samiyah slides into sleep, her breathing slow and even.

Tension leaves the bard's form like water flowing from a leaky bucket.

Low tones of the instrument echo slightly.

Aoide begins a second song, a slow waltz this time.

She mumbles something softly, shifting in her sleep.
Sami's face twists in distress, her brows lowered, tension returning.

Aoide rests a hand lightly on Samiyah's arm.

The music takes on a lighter tone.

Samiyah sighs quietly, mumbling something sibilant.

Aoide transitions to slow chords, careful to avoid the minor keys.

Samiyah breathes deeply, evenly.

Aoide gets (Polished) Whistler's Flute from bag made from Daisy hide.
Aoide finishes her chords and quickly switches intruments.

Aoide stops using a black laquered ebony and brass clarinet.
Aoide wields (Polished) Whistler's Flute.

Aoide eyes the sleeping bard.

Aoide plays a little jig, but slower and quieter.

Sami's lips curve slightly, and she breathes a little contented sigh.

Aoide sways her feet back and forth with her song.

Samiyah murmurs something inaudible and shifts to her back, her hand falling to rest on her hips, fingers moving
slightly.

Aoide begins to experiment with the trill key.

The flute music stops.

Aoide begins to sing slowly.

Samiyah shifts once more, back to her side, curling up.
Her veil becomes unhooked, the ornaments catching on the fur rug, and the fabric slides down into a pile on the
floor.

Aoide gently repins the veil.

Aoide opens the thick iron-bound doors.

Samiyah startles at the sound.

Aoide sings a bit louder.
Aoide transitions to what she hopes is a desert lullaby.

Samiyah eases back down into sleep.

Strad bows deeply.
Strad gives the radiating scroll to Aoide.
Strad gives a spell score to Aoide.
Aoide thanks Strad heartily.

Aoide holds a finger to her lips.

Strad says (in common), '2 more, hands'.
Strad blushes.

Samiyah startles, sitting up.

Aoide whispers, "she is sleeping"

Samiyah's hand flies to her veil, checking its position.

Aoide says (in common), 'it's okay, Samiyah, it's just Strad'.

Aoide puts the radiating scroll in bag made from Captain Derrick hide.
Aoide puts a spell score in bag made from Captain Derrick hide.

Strad whispers "sorry, I didn't realize."
Strad blushes.

Strad gives a spell crystal to Aoide.
Strad gives a spell crystal to Aoide.

Aoide puts a spell crystal in bag made from Captain Derrick hide.
Aoide puts a spell crystal in bag made from Captain Derrick hide.

Strad bows slightly.

Samiyah lays back down, again pillowing her head on her arms with a weary sigh.

Aoide says (in common), 'know any lullabies, Strad?'.

Aoide sings, "Duermete mi hija"
Aoide sings, "Cabeza de aoyte"
Aoide sings, "Si no te duermes"
Aoide sings, "Te come el coyote"

Samiyah breathes slowly, evenly.

That might possibly have been a snore, and not a sigh or mumble...

Aoide covers a little chuckle with an extra verse.

Aoide closes her own eyes and begins to hum.

Samiyah groans softly, frowning in her sleep, one hand moving to ball into a fist at her chest.

Aoide looks nervously at Samiyah and switches songs.

Samiyah's lips move, as if casting spells, the movements of her arms small, but emphatic.
Samiyah wakes with a gasp, her heart racing.

Aoide says (in common), 'what's the matter?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Fighting...'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'i was fighting... someone... '.
Samiyah searches for a name.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Kethran. '.

Aoide frowns.

Ink gossips (in sahuagin), 'WE LOVE INK AND NATI!'.

Aoide says (in common), 'Kethran would not attack you'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I was ... I was not me.'.

Aoide frowns.
Aoide says (in common), 'well you rested for some time'.
Aoide says (in common), 'I hope that will prove restorative'.

Samiyah struggles to rise, rubbing at her eyes. She nods, flashing you a quick smile.
Samiyah says (in common), 'Thank you for warding my sleep with your song.'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'I should go.'.

Aoide nods.

Aoide says (in common), 'thank you for trusting me'.

Samiyah struggles to her feet, unsteady.

Aoide says (in common), 'please be careful'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'With my very life, Sayyida.'.

Aoide smiles happily.

Samiyah says (in common), 'The only, save my Sahib, I would say that to.'.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.
Samiyah leaves west.
