The Weaver's Geasa

From The Final Challenge Wiki

During the giving of Trials of Triat Mastery to Ink, Aoide and Vale (Three Acolytes Seek Mastery), Cordir asked the three Initiates to grant her a Geas upon their completion of the Trial. Ink and Vale failed their quests, so Cordir sought out others to give one in their stead, who equally represented that aspect of the Triat to her: Wish, for the Wyrm, and Katrana for the Wyld. Wish's Geas: 04/09/13

### Wish: Entered Game
Elf [ Demigod ] Wish, Lost in Nashite Alchemy

Cordir: good morning, Wish.

Wish: good morning!

Cordir: .. interesting title.

Wish: I am honoring Star

Cordir: *dryly* And what has she done to be honored?

Wish: She, and her followers, have been dedicated friends to both me, and Alchemy.

Cordir: Well. That's certainly a good reason.

Wish: I know of no better reason.

Cordir: I suppose not.

Wish: I would like an audience, please...to speak privately.

Cordir: certainly.

Wish: My place or yours?

Cordir: Mine.

Wish appears suddenly, his luminescent, unblinking eyes emerging from the ether like two bloodless moons.

Cordir: since you said you wanted an audience.... which seems a bit formal.

Wish: Well, it is a formal thing I wish to discuss.

Wish: *chuckle* this is not your place!

Cordir: er, where am I?

The Pit
[Exits: east up]
A grand staircase leads to the temples above.
(Moderate magic) A pair of chain mail gloves has been left here.
(Moderate magic) A dagger has been dropped here.
A pit for donations dominates the room.
(Intense Dark Red Aura) Wish is here.
(Dark Cyan Aura) Mnaramenth is here.

Cordir: .. oh.

Wish: at the pit

A Midnight Garden
[Exits: south]
(White Aura) A distressingly large, shiny black spider weaves webs here.

Cordir: my bad.

Wish appears suddenly, his luminescent, unblinking eyes emerging from the ether like two bloodless moons.
Wish smiles happily.
Wish bows before you.

Cordir says, 'my apologies.'.

Wish smiles at you.

Cordir says, 'I am.. distracted.. this morning.'.
Cordir says, 'What can I do for you, Wish?'.

Wish says, 'no need to apologize'.
Wish says, 'I have spoken with Aoide about your request.'.
Wish smiles happily.

Cordir clasps her hands before her, regarding you quietly.

Wish says, 'I understand the request more fully now.'.

Cordir nods, murmuring, 'Very good. Thank you for taking it seriously.'

Wish says, 'but I do have a few more questions for you, if you do not mind.'.

Cordir makes a graceful gesture of invitation to continue.

Wish smiles happily.

Wish says, 'First, one clarification, please'.

Cordir nods.

Wish says, 'Why must you receive three geas, when only one (Aoide) achieved her Triat Mastery?'.

Cordir says, 'It is the symmetry of the thing. The rightness of it. I offered it to the Triat Initiates as a gesture of how deeply sacred Triat Mastery is to me.'.

Wish nods.
Wish says, 'Okay, so next question. Although you offered as a gesture to the initiates, what is it that you personally hope to gain from accepting the geas?'.
Wish says, 'What change, what power, what mastery over yourself'.

Cordir says, 'The restoration of personal balance, a renewed connection to the Triat Faith, and the required discipline of geasa.'.

Wish says, 'As to the first...in what way do you feel personally out of balance?'.

Cordir says, 'Losing one's following is an excruciating thing. The lack of any geasa added to that sense of loss and discordency. '.
Cordir says, 'when there is nothing else to fall back on for inner strength, there are geasa.'.

Wish says, 'a very personal question coming next...based on that response.'.
Wish says, 'Please excuse my...forwardness.'.

Cordir remains still and quiet, hands clasped, and nods.

Wish says, 'Cordir...are you lonely?'.

Cordir does not answer for a long moment.
Cordir says, 'I do not allow myself to worry about such things.'.

Wish looks at Cordir with surprise...unable to hide a deep sense of concern.
Wish says, 'But...Cordir...did not your following...serve as your friends? Emotional support?'.

Cordir nods.
Cordir says, '..very much so. As I said. I do not allow myself to think about their loss.'.

Wish says, 'But if you do not think about their loss, then you cannot recover from their loss. You cannot...move on and become open to new friends...new support..and...new love.'.

Cordir says, 'Wish.. do you know why there are so few Immortals who do not vanish when they give up their people?'.
Cordir answers her own question: "Because the loss of their minds entwined with yours is the greatest wound one can endure. It is enough to drive one mad."

Wish says quietly..."sometimes madness...temporary madness....is necessary."

Cordir says, '...I HAVE gone mad over it. I DID go mad over it. Until I learned to build walls between me and that loss.'.
Cordir turns her head, the gesture instinctive: was her hair yet long, it would hide her face.

Wish says, 'At what price, Cordir? To become cold and dim, like a world without pain? Without love?'.

Cordir smiles briefly. "I have always been cold. And I do not need love. And the world yet has pain."

Wish shakes his head.
Wish says, 'Everyone needs love. The love of friends...family...lovers. You asked why I honor Star. She is my friend. I care for her deeply. I love her as a friend. And I am strengthened by that friendship. Far more than I would be weakened by its loss.'.

Cordir gestures somewhat vaguely. 'I have friends, Wish. I consider you a friend.'

Wish smiles at Cordir.

Wish says, 'Yes. I am your friend. But do you love me?'.

cordir blinks.
Cordir says, '.. I do not use that term for friends. '.

Wish says, 'no...you do not...because of the wall you have built. That is my perception, at least'.

Cordir smiles briefly.

Wish says, 'You keep your friends at arms length, for fear a brick might fall...and the pain of loss might return. Based on my questioning, do you know how I am leaning in the giving of your requested Geas?'.

Cordir looks you full on, her eyes on yours. '..I begin to fear it, honestly.'

Wish laughs.

Cordir says, '..but I will abide it.'.

Wish says, 'Then I will have done my job, have I not? No geas should be a complete pleasure, I gather. Strength is derived from struggle. And successfully overcoming adversity.'.

Cordir says, 'there should be duty, in geasa. Service. Thoughtfulness to others. Effort made and given. No: They should not be easy.'.

Wish says, 'Ahh...but you are forgetting the most important aspect of geasa and of life.'.

Cordir arches an eyebrow inquisitively.

Wish says, 'Service to ones own needs. The greatest service you can give to others is to become whole and healthy in oneself.'.

Cordir hesitates, some inner dialogue causing her struggle. "I am not.. broken.. Wish."

Wish says, 'That is not for me to decide.'.

Cordir says, '..I was.. to deal with the loss of Isolas, on top of all else, I did break myself.. but ...'.
She very carefully composes her expression to one of calm.

((( OOC NOTE: That is the first time that Cordir has spoken his name out loud in a full RL year of RP... ))

Wish feels the tenseness emit from Cordir in waves.

Cordir says, 'Those pieces are back together. My memory is fully restored, I remember all is it was, in truth, and not the illusion.'.

Wish says, 'Cordir, I want you to be satisfied that I have given you a proper geas. My perception of you is colored by my interactions with you. And so my selection of a geas is colored by this interaction, personality, desires, values. This can't be denied.'.

Cordir nods.
Cordir says quietly, 'I trust you, Wish.'

Wish says, 'I also do not believe in commandments. I want you to carefully consider the geas before accepting it. And I will choose another if you feel it is inappropriate or difficult.'.

Cordir says, 'there is nothing wrong with geasa being difficult. Saran and Nyx bound themselves with nine, of great challenge.'.

Wish says, 'My geas, therefore is the following.'.

Cordir goes quite still, listening.

Wish says, 'Begin to take down your wall...carefully...brick by brick. Guard yourself, yet embrace the pain of your loss. Do this by selecting a friend...to love... Share your pain with this friend...who shall support you. Entrust this friend with your pain...so they share it. And finally, embrace this friend, allowing them to take the place of the following you lost. This is what I ask of you.'.

Cordir looks troubled.

Wish says, 'Think on it, Cordir.'.

Cordir opens her mouth to speak, then closes it.
Cordir nods.

Wish says, 'I will not in any way be offended if you request something different..more tangible'.

Cordir says, 'What you spoke of can be crystallized into a single word, in truth: Vulnerability.'.

Wish smiles happily.
Wish bows before you.
Wish says, 'What I say in many you say in one. The sign of a true Bard'.

Cordir glances down at the ground, some embarrassment in her expression.
Cordir says, 'Wish.. I only have one friend.'.

Wish says, 'Who might that be?'.

Cordir says simply, 'You.'

Wish steps back, eyes wide with surprise.

Cordir says, 'Mortals are not my friend. Even those who served in the Chosen. That relationship is different. I have only one friend.'.

Wish says, 'I...I...this is not what I expected. I am deeply, profoundly honored.'.

Cordir says, 'Katrana is my sister. DarkClaw.. was a follower... and while I respect her as an Immortal....'.

Cordir shrugs slightly.

Wish says, 'May I sit?'.

Cordir nods.

Wish waves a hand creating a comfortable chair from thin air.
Wish sits down heavily.

Cordir glances at the benches just two steps away and smiles wryly.

Wish says, mostly to himself, "Has my geas been self serving?"

Wish looks up at Cordir, happy...yet confused.

Cordir regards you quietly, letting you process your thoughts.

Wish says, 'Cordir, I did not consider you might consider me your only friend. '.
Wish laughs.

Cordir shrugs awkwardly, "I am not the easiest person to get along with."

Wish smiles happily.

Cordir murmurs, 'just ask Seraph.'

Wish says, 'No, I suppose not. You are...complex.'.
Wish says, 'Which I find enjoyable...compelling...attractive.'.
Wish stands up straight.

Cordir blinks.
Cordir says philosophically, 'well, I am no Jyslin T'Sarran.'

Wish says, '(ooc..will need a 5 minute break soon...on conference call waiting my turn)'.

Cordir says, '(and i need to head out the door to work)'.
Cordir says, '(she said, pulling on her pants.)'.

Wish laughs.
Wish smiles happily.

Wish says, 'My geas still stands, Cordir. More than ever, I suppose. Choose me, or another, new friend. Become vulnerable, as you said. Think on it, and we shall speak more later.'.
Wish bows before you.
Wish says, 'Fair enough?'.

Cordir says, 'I.. accept your Geasa.'.
Cordir shivers.

Cordir pauses a moment, and says, 'I do have one mortal that I would call a friend, but .. she is not within the world much. But I should acknowledge her, even if her presence is as rare as that of snow-lilies on the Guru's mountaintop.'.
Cordir says, 'Corri.'.

Wish smiles happily.
Wish says, 'a mortal'.

You nod.

Wish smiles happily.

Cordir says, 'she was among the Chosen for a time, but she never.. worshiped... if that makes sense. She was the Harbinger of Fate's end.'.

Wish nods.
Wish smiles happily.

Cordir says, 'She chose to stand with me, and to help me through that moment. So: a friend.'.

Wish smiles happily.
Wish nods.

Cordir says, 'I must go.'.

Wish says, 'I am honored to have been selected to give you a geas, Cordir.'.

Cordir bows deeply.

Wish says, 'May you go with calm and peace.'.
Wish bows deeply.

Cordir's lips twitch as she represses a rueful smile.

Wish says, 'And know that I shall support your efforts in any way I can.'.

Cordir says, 'Not much of either, for the moment. This will be challenging.'.

Wish says, 'oh yes, it will be'.

Cordir says, 'I will have to think on it.'.

Wish says, 'More challenging than a vow to speak Ogre forever.'.

You nod.

Wish says, 'That was choice 2'.
Wish winks suggestively.

Cordir says, 'You are a very very silly squidling. '.
Cordir smiles happily.

Wish says, 'indeed I can be!'.
Wish waves happily.

Cordir waves.
Fare thee well!

Beestings and Geasa: 04/20/2013

Corri arrives from the east.
Corri ruffles Aoide's hair playfully.

Cordir scuffs her other foot over the one with the bloodstain.
Cordir says quietly, '.. Corri. Hello.'

Corri smiles at you.
Corri says (in common), '*peers at the bloodstain* How's trouble?'.

Aoide beams a smile at Corri.

You say, 'As always, there is much of it.'.

Aoide smirks.
Aoide says (in common), 'That depends on who you ask, I suppose'.
Aoide says (in common), 'I wouldn't even call this trouble'.
Aoide says (in common), 'Other than making a rotten mess of the Lady Weaver's foot'.

Corri chuckles, evidently amused.

You say, 'A thorn in my side is currently bleeding out in his temple, Star is beside herself with her latest distraction.. and Wish is having odd thoughts about women, and an unusual interest in masonry.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'Masonry?'.

You nod.

Aoide looks skeptical.

Corri glances around the temple area briefly.

You say, 'Though I think that was more to keep from looking at DarkClaw helping me with the bee stings.'.

Corri says (in common), 'Sudden urge for honey?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'Bee stings? My goodness. The gods have been must busier than the mortals it seems or much more interesting.'.

You say, 'well... I have accepted a Geasa from Wish.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'oh?'.

You say, 'And await yours and my Sister's.'.

You say, 'It involves..'.

Cordir scuffs her foot along the stones. 'Something that is a struggle for me.'

You say, 'as one can imagine.'.

Aoide laughs.
Aoide says (in common), 'that is generally the idea'.

You say, 'yes, well..'.
Cordir looks a little self-concious.

Corri says (in common), 'Everyone else I know picked their own gaesa, except during the mastery quest. What did he choose for you?'.
Corri tilts her head curiously.

Aoide says (in common), 'beekeeping?'.

Cordir says quietly, 'Vulnerability.'

Aoide says (in common), 'Oh.'.

You say, 'Letting people in. Having .. friends. Talking truthfully even when I would rather conceal or be silent.'.

Corri grins mischeviously.

Corri says (in common), 'Oh dear.'.
Corri frowns.

Aoide raises an eyebrow.
Aoide says (in common), 'Isn't that a good thing?'.

Corri says (in common), '.. You've always let people in, though, and had friends.'.

Aoide nods.

Corri says (in common), 'though I admit I've been off wandering for a bit.'.
Corri looks at you.

Aoide says (in common), 'just..selectively'.

You say, 'Wish feels that even though I have named a friend or two, that I still hold them at arm's length.'.
You say, 'That there are still walls erected to keep people from seeing..'.
You say, 'So I am learning to be social and more .. '.
You say, 'friendly. And I am learning to cook.'.

Aoide laughs.
Aoide says (in common), 'Hence the honey?'.

You say, 'because that is apparently a social thing that friends do.'.
You say, 'And he asked for waffles with honey syrup.. and the beekeeper was closed...'.

Corri says (in common), 'who is 'he'?'.

You say, 'Wish wanted waffles.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'Ah, that seems a bit self-serving, doesnt it?'.

Corri says (in common), 'Wish wanted waffles, and gave you a gaesa -'.
Corri snickers softly.

Aoide says (in common), 'to make you swear to be social and be friendly'.
Aoide says (in common), 'and then ask for you to cook for him?'.

Corri nods in recognition to Aoide.

Corri giggles at Aoide's actions.
Corri nods.

You say, '... that may have been a topic of discussion at one point. But apparently the sight of DarkClaw helping me with ointment on the bee stings was nearly painful for him and he tried to be distracted by masonry and gardening.'.

You give a cherry and Bavarian cream pastry, drizzled with chocolate to Corri.
You give a cherry and Bavarian cream pastry, drizzled with chocolate to Aoide.

Corri licks it experimentally.
Corri says (in common), 'Oo.'.
Corri nibbles off one edge.

Aoide says (in common), 'impressive!'.

You say, 'he has an obsession for pastry.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'when you say "learning to cook", you must have a fairly high expectation'.

You say, 'anything sweet, really.'.
You say, 'I used to bake cookies for the Chosen... but it has been seven thousand years and more since I tried anything else.'.

Corri eats a cherry and Bavarian cream pastry, drizzled with chocolate.
Corri licks each finger individually, savoring the last of the chocolate drizzle.

Corri says (in common), 'Cordir, may I ask exactly what your geasa is? I don't imagine Wish would have included baking specifically.'.

You chuckle.

You say, 'it was quite lengthy, involving selecting a friend to trust, to speak to, to allow in within my emotional barriers - it was quite detailed. But it boils down to vulnerability... when was the last time you saw Wish.'.

Corri waves a hand vaguely.
Corri says (in common), 'He had challenged me that he was going to take over my scavenger hunt score...'.
Corri says (in common), 'once he finished working on location quests. Its been a while.'.

You say, 'The food thing is part of his new obsession with exploring the capabilities and senses of his new form.'.
You say, '.. Wish is not a cuttlefish.'.
You say, 'He is an Elf.'.

Corri blinks.
Corri says (in common), 'Was he reborn?'.

You say, 'He was brought low by a bard's truth, from what I have been told.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'well sweets certainly are a good place to start'.
Aoide says (in common), 'has he started to create music?'.
Aoide says (in common), 'elves are generally pretty good at it'.

You say, '.. it is one of his areas of exploration...'.

Aoide grins evilly.

Corri says (in common), 'Seems to me Elf is a good upgrade over fish'.

Aoide says (in common), 'agreed'.

Corri says (in common), 'but I was asking about geasa. Can you tell me what his words were exactly?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'but then, I've never cared much for brill'.

Corri grins wickedly at Aoide.

You say, 'his exact words were, "Begin to take down your wall...carefully...brick by brick. Guard yourself, yet embrace the pain of your loss. Do this by selecting a friend...to love... Share your pain with this friend...who shall support you. Entrust this friend with your pain...so they share it. And finally, embrace this friend, allowing them to take the place of the following you lost. This is what I ask of you."'.

You say, 'and then I told him that other than the scamp here...'.
Cordir indicates Corri.

Aoide laughs.

Corri inclines her eyebrow.
Corri chuckles, evidently amused.
Corri says (in common), 'I still hear 'Palmer' when you say scamp'.

You say, 'That there are not many that I actually name.. 'friend'. . . there are those of closeness, those I watch and guard over, those I care about...'.

Aoide smiles happily.

You say, 'Those I see as .. as similar to my Chosen.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'I am glad he offered such a Geas'.
Aoide says (in common), 'we spoke of it briefly, and I was hoping he would stretch you'.

Cordir murmurs with a touch of humor 'Oh, so you are to blame.'

Aoide laughs.
Aoide says (in common), 'well, I certainly did not give him the idea.'.
Aoide says (in common), 'but the idea of being the only one was stressful to me'.
Aoide says (in common), 'for mine will not be such a stretch perhaps'.
Aoide says (in common), 'maybe more'.

Aoide shrugs.
Aoide says (in common), 'so I am glad someone was ruthless'.
Aoide snickers softly.

Corri says (in common), 'have you figured out any ideas, Aoide?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'Oh yes. I've known since the beginning what mine would be.'.
Aoide says (in common), 'Until I thought it might be the only.'.
Aoide says (in common), 'And then when the Lady Weaver told me she would ask two others, I thought there would be a ceremony of sorts'.

Aoide looks down at her feet, blushing.

You say, 'I thought so as well.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'but apparently I missed it!'.

You say, 'But Wish rather blurted it out.'.

Aoide says (in common), '..Or Wish did not understand the way it is done'.
Aoide says (in common), 'But in that case..would you care to hear it now, my lady?'.

A guardian ant arrives from a puff of smoke.

You frown. What's bothering you?

Aoide laughs.

Your soul rift *** ANNIHILATES *** a guardian ant!
A guardian ant is DEAD!!
A guardian ant hits the ground ... DEAD.
The corpse of a guardian ant contains:
80 gold coins [|1#]

The guardian spider arrives from a puff of smoke.

Corri says (in common), 'Wish talked a lot about the pain of loss, and nGAh'.

The guardian spider rests.

Aoide says (in common), 'It seems a Triat Master would be a good second witness'.

The guardian spider stands up.
The guardian spider rests.

Aoide says (in common), 'just one moment'.

Aoide leaves east.
Aoide arrives from the east.

Aoide smiles happily.

Corri says (in common), 'and not shouldering it alone.'.

You nod in recognition to Corri.

Corri curtseys gracefully to the guardian spider.

Aoide beams a smile at the guardian spider.

The guardian spider hisses grumpily.

Corri says (in common), 'You still miss your following so much, after so long?'.

You say, 'With every single breath.'.
You say, 'And.. other, more recent losses.. compounded that sense of isolation.'.
You say, 'I think, though he did not say it... '.

The guardian spider stands up.
The guardian spider rests.

Cordir bows her head slightly. 'Star said that I was dead inside.'

Aoide scowls.

Corri wrinkles her nose.

Aoide says (in common), 'that was unkind'.

You say, 'She's right, to an extent.'.

Corri says (in common), 'in what sense?'.

You say, 'That I have no physical passion, that I guard myself from hurt, that I do not live closely, intimately, with those around me.'.

The guardian spider stands up.
The guardian spider rests.

You chuckle.
You say, 'that I am, as I have always been.'.

Aoide nods.

Corri says (in common), 'So what has changed, that Wish felt like this geasa was needed?'.

You say, 'I think he takes offense at my reserve. The distance I like to keep. '.
You say, 'He suspects some warm, vibrant, outgoing person lurks within beneath swaths of spidersilk and shadow.'.

The guardian spider stands up.
The guardian spider rests.

You say, 'Guardian, would you settle down, please?'.

Aoide laughs.
Aoide says (in common), 'well, I think a little vulnerability will do good'.
Aoide says (in common), 'but I hope your swaths of spidersilk and shadow remain'.
Aoide says (in common), 'I do not know what we would do if we discovered something new under there'.
Aoide says (in common), 'For that seems to imply there is something wrong with the Weaver we love and fear'.

You nod.

The guardian spider stands up.
The guardian spider rests.

You say, 'So, My Bard..'.
You say, 'Enough of Wish's geasa.'.
You say, 'What is yours?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'would you like me to wait for the scamp?'.

You nod.

Aoide discretely covers something in her hands by placing them behind her back.

Corri peers around Aoide's back.

Aoide smiles happily.
Aoide says (in common), 'welcome back'.

The guardian spider stands up.

Aoide says (in common), 'My Lady Weaver, I have held for some time an item of yours'.

You say, 'You have.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'And since I was a youngling, I have sought in vain to restore your memories'.

Ghazkull gossips (in common), 'Greetings, all'.

You gossip, 'Hello, Heartbringer.'.

Ghazkull arrives from a puff of smoke.
Ghazkull blinks.

You nod in recognition to her.

Corri tilts her head curiously, listening to Aoide as she stands formally.

Aoide says (in common), 'For I feel still that embracing your past will cause less harm than ignoring it'.

You say, 'They are restored.'.

Aoide nods.

Ghazkull blinks at guardian.

Aoide says (in common), 'But though they have been restored, you have not...'.
Aoide says (in common), 'I feel that you should..'.

You say, '.. What do you mean?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'The realm could use...'.

Aoide clears her throat.

Cordir listens.

Aoide says (in common), 'My Lady. I bid you to write.'.

Cordir flinches.

Aoide gives you a small ebon-leather bound book.

Aoide says (in common), 'Your Geas, should you accept, is to write'.

Cordir accepts the book, holding it between her hands, looking down at it.

The guardian spider leaves east.

Aoide says (in common), 'To embrace your past as a poet and your current role as Patroness'.
Aoide says (in common), 'And, to ensure that you do both'.
Aoide says (in common), 'I would bid you to ensure that for each history of the past'.
Aoide says (in common), 'be it tale of the Chosen of Fate or your own personal past,'.
Aoide says (in common), 'There be a poem or song or tale of the present.'.
Aoide says (in common), 'Or, if you prefer this new you'.
Aoide says (in common), 'this honey syrup-making you'.

The guardian spider arrives from the east.
The guardian spider rests.

Aoide says (in common), 'Be sure that for each new poem about vulnerability or friends,'.
Aoide says (in common), 'there is one from your past or the past of this realm.'.

### [Aoide tells Corri (in common), 'thanks!']

You say, '.. and if my desire to write faded from this realm when He did?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'then you will find it again'.
Aoide says (in common), 'for Geasa are not meant to be easy'.

Cordir closes her eyes and sighs quietly. "No. They are not."

Aoide says (in common), 'and if you must write of things less personal, then do so'.
Aoide says (in common), 'You will notice I said nothing of the topic'.
Aoide says (in common), 'or of how or when or if they must be shared'.
Aoide says (in common), 'simply that they must embrace, in equal number, the past and present'.

Cordir nods simply and murmurs, 'I accept.'

Aoide looks relieved and releases the breath she was holding.

The Guardian spider nods sharply, her mind voice biting: *Witnessed*

Aoide says (in common), 'Oh good, because I did not have a second option to give'.
Aoide snickers softly.

You say, '.. then that is two.'.
You say, '.. and both are the same thing.'.
You say, '.. vulnerability.'.

Cordir says lightly, "If I did not know better, I would think it a plot."

Ghazkull snickers softly.

Ghazkull gasps as he realises what he just did.

Corri says (in common), 'To most people, I don't think either of those would translate as vulnerability...'.
Corri smiles at you.

Aoide laughs.

You say, '.. mayhap not.'.

Corri says (in common), 'Geasa always reveal as much as they challenge.'.
Corri says (in common), 'At least the good ones do.'.

Cordir glances down at the book in her grasp.

Corri smiles happily.

Aoide says (in common), 'and in this case, perhaps they also reveal how we view you'.

Cordir murmurs, 'Thank you for keeping it safe.'

Aoide nods.

Aoide says (in common), 'thank you for the trust'.

You say, 'Thank you for witnessing.'.

>l aoide

The guardian spider stands up.
You make the gesture necessary to invoke your spell.
The guardian spider slowly fades out of existence.

Corri says (in common), 'is it normal for her not to eat? You brought that for her, right? *She nudges the ant corpse*'.

You say, 'She prefers elves.'.
You say, 'not animals.'.

Ghazkull lets out a slight breath that he didn't realize he was holding as Guardian disappears.

Aoide laughs.
Aoide says (in common), 'I know'.

Corri says (in common), 'What's the last thing you've written?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'it seems convenient that the Lady Weaver has so many elves around her'.
Aoide says (in common), 'but so far, Guardian has not threatened me'.

You say, 'my good bye to him.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'she still seems to miss the taste of Solaron'.

You nod in recognition to her.

Corri snickers with Aoide about their shared secret.

Corri says (in common), 'your goodbye - to which 'him'?'.

Cordir glances at Corri, her eyes raw with the answer. 'You know which him.'

Aoide says (in common), 'but even before then'.
Aoide says (in common), 'with all respect, my lady'.
Aoide says (in common), 'it had been some time'.

You nod.
You say, 'Ages, yes.'.

You say, 'since the last Bardic circle the Chosen held.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'well, you did also prepare something for Vale'.
Aoide says (in common), 'about the Triat Mastery Quest'.
Aoide says (in common), 'if I recall'.

Cordir pauses a moment, tilting her head to one side, and thinks.

You say, 'I suppose that I did, yes.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'but even that has been...some tiem'.
Aoide says (in common), 'time*'.
Aoide says (in common), 'since we have not even seen him in ages'.

The Wyld's Geasa: 04/23/2013

Katrana says, 'Sister, I was wondering if you have a few moments.'.

Cordir nods.

Katrana nods.
Katrana says, 'To your garden?'.
Katrana raises an eyebrow.

Cordir nods.

A Midnight Garden
[Exits: south]
(White Aura) A distressingly large, shiny black spider weaves webs here.

Katrana steps through an inky black portal with Manatheren close behind.

Katrana sits down and thinks deeply.

The guardian spider dips her thorax in a bow before the Wyldess.

Katrana smiles to the spider, as if meeting an old friend.
Katrana nods to the spider.

Katrana looks to her Sister knowingly.

Katrana says, 'You asked a geas from me Sister...are you ready to hear what I have to say?'.

Cordir says, ‘I am, Sister.'.

Cordir clasps her hands before her, listening.

Katrana's eyes stop their chaotic shifting of hues to stop on a deep amethyst.

Katrana says, 'Dear Sister, The Pattern holds some amazing records of the relationship between you and I. You were my goddess. I was Chosen. One of yours. You watched me grow, protected me...and knew what I was long before any other.'.

Cordir nods.

Katrana says, 'You were there through my becoming. One of the most joyous yet, difficult times of my existence. My friend. You were there through several of my trials and my best times. My enemy. As chaos took the realm, and stability wanted to stand.. You and I, and ours... battled.'.

Cordir nods, Her eyes growing sad.

Katrana says, 'My Sister. Not by blood, but my something more. This bond we have is one that few others will ever know. But always, throughout my years within the realm, you have been a mentor, a teacher. One who has walked the world as a mortal, one who has seen the world from the skies. You have walked the realm for many, many years...you have the experience most dream of obtaining. You are someone who could be trusted, and learned from. A beacon in the darkest of times, and one to listen and provide guidance from the silliest, most simple of problems, to the most difficult and complex. But...there is something to be learned here. You cannot always be the one with the answers'.

Katrana says, 'My geas for you Sister: You must have Three mentors. You must meet with the chosen mentor at least once every Three outworld weeks (so long as time and RL circumstance allows). Each of these mentors MUST embody or represent an aspect of our Triat. These mentors may be mortal or immortal. They may be friend or foe. They may or may not believe in the Triat’.

Katrana eyes shift to a bloody crimson.

The wind blows through the garden leaving goose bumps on your skin.

Katrana says, 'For the Wyld, the individual must be chaotic, thrive off of destruction, or chaotic renewal. They must adore change, be resilient amongst the chaotic dance...they must rebound from the most difficult of situations only to be better than they were. Learn from them that change...while against your nature is required for survival.'.

Cordir says, ‘For the Wyld, my mentor will be Ink. '.
Cordir says, ‘.. if he will accept.'.

Katrana grins Wyldly.
Katrana says, 'I'm sure he will be honored.'.
Katrana grins Wyldly.

The winds calm, and a gentle breeze stirs through garden.
Katrana eye's shift to a soft blue.

Katrana says, 'For the Wyrm, the individual must be the epitome of self-improvement. This one must strive for the unobtainable, and yet still somehow against the odds, achieve it. They must be constantly pushing themselves to be more. They must drive toward only what the Pattern knows is their limit. Learn from them that reflection of self...while sometimes upsetting will only make you become more.'.

Cordir nods.
Cordir says, ‘My mentor, for the Wyrm, if he will have me, will be Selff.'.

Katrana smiles happily.
Katrana nods.

Katrana steps up and takes your hands.
Katrana says, 'The Weaver...'.
Katrana sighs.

Katrana says, 'Who better to know the Weaver than the Weaver herself. But Sister, you watch the Pattern, you weave it. You are honest...to a fault. Just as I am chaotically passionate...to a fault.'.
Katrana giggles innocently.

Katrana says, 'I still require you to find one who embodies, well, you. Sometimes, just sometimes...Us Incarna...are so busy being what is required of us. That we forget who we were meant- to be. For the Weaver, the individual must be the epitome of honesty, and protection. They must never waiver in their beliefs, and must always tell the truth, despite its consequences. Learn from them of yourself...let them remind you to be honest to yourself and to not hide from the answers. '.

Cordir pauses a moment, tilting her head to one side, and thinks.

Cordir says, ‘There are two I would speak to, of mentorship for the Weaver.. as one is not often in the world. Cresom and Corri.'.

Katrana nods.
Katrana says, 'Do you accept this geas?'.

Katrana eyes return to their chaotic shifting of hues.

Cordir says, ‘Do my Mentors meet with your approval, should they accept? Or do you have other recommendations?'.

Katrana says, 'They do. Very much so.'.

Cordir nods.
Cordir says, ‘Then I accept this Geas.'.

Katrana says, 'Witnessed.'.

The guardian spider says (in old-common), *Witnessed*

Katrana whispers, 'It feels so odd for me to say that.'

Katrana giggles.

Cordir nods.

Katrana says, 'These mentors...Sister, listen to them. Refresh your mind with knowledge that has been tucked away. That maybe, just maybe, you’ll rediscover the parts of you that you forgot were there.'.

Cordir says, ‘It is .. odd.. being the one being given them.'.

Katrana giggles.
Katrana nods.

Cordir says, ‘Are you aware of the other two that have been given?'.

Katrana says, 'I know that our bardling has given the geas to write.'.

Cordir nods.

Katrana says, 'How does that feel, to have the parchment...'.

Cordir says, ‘.. vulnerable. '.

Katrana nods slowly.
Katrana says, 'I can imagine so.'.

Katrana says, 'But that ties into what the one who is not a cuttlefish gave you for a geas yes?'.

Cordir nods.

Katrana says, 'What are your thoughts on the Three geas as a whole?'.

Cordir says, ‘To find a friend and become emotionally open and vulnerable to them. To let that friendship replace the Chosen and heal the wound of their loss. Again: vulnerability'.

Katrana says, 'Sister, your Chosen are always with you.'.

Cordir nods.
Cordir says, ‘Yes... but so many are gone.'.

Katrana nods slowly.

Cordir gazes down at her scarred palm.
Cordir says, ‘I miss their voices, miss being able to help them. I see people injured, and want to help. I see cries for assistance, and instinctively try to act.'.

Katrana nods.
Katrana kicks a pebble in front of her.
Katrana says, 'I understand that pain.'.

Katrana sighs loudly.
Katrana says, 'You want so badly to make them whole. To replace their pain.'.

Cordir nods.
Cordir says, ‘to help. to heal. to mentor.'.

Katrana nods.

Katrana says, 'Especially to mentor...stupid weasel.'.

Katrana grumbles realizing she said that aloud.

Cordir smiles slightly.
Cordir says, ‘speaking of weasels, one of yours is being stubborn and defying my will as expressed in a blinky window.'.

Cordir grumbles.

Katrana laughs.
Katrana says sarcastically, 'My weasels, stubborn? Never..'.

Cordir giggles.
