Lady Cordir An-Shalach, Weaver Incarna, Mistress of Fate,
Thank you for taking the time to read this brief account of my past. My hopes that this will find you well. I am hoping that you will be able to understand my common, as I have not written in this language very much.
I shall begin as far back as I can remember. I was born in War'loov's fortress to a family that had very little in the way of possessions. Growing up was very tough on me. In order to help feed my four younger siblings, I was forced to beg for spare change outside of the restaurant. One time an elderly bull was bending over to put some money in my pan and I noticed his purse was easily accessible. Without so much as a thought I quickly nudged him and grabbed the purse. After counting the gold, I realized that this was a much more effective means of making extra money. Thus I began thieving regularly and actually became quite good at it. After a couple of years, we had enough saved up to provide for the family for quite some time. This allowed me to start off with my true love, whom I had known since I was a young calf.
We were married in a small temple in War'loov. After biding my parents and siblings farewell, we took the long journey to Mithas were we found a home and settled down. It was not as easy for me to thieve in Mithas as there was a lot of competition plus the guards were very good at spotting cut purses. This forced me to travel outside of Mithas to other more naïve cities. During my adventuring, I met a human by the name of Palin. He was a student of the magical arts and the power I saw him wield sparked a desire in me. I decided that learning the ways of a mage would aid in my ability to line my pockets with other people's gold. He introduced me to his Lord, Pyros, God of Fire and I was immediately overwhelmed. I pledged my allegiance to Him and began my travels down the path of Fire.
My mate and I were very happy with our lives and our coffers were full from my expeditions. One night, over dinner, I told him that I was with child. His reaction was more than I hoped for knowing that he was not ready to start a family. The rest of the night we talked about possible names and other future plans. When I woke the next morning, I found him gone. No note, no goodbye, just…gone. I waited home all day hoping that maybe he had just gone out for some provisions. He never returned. My heart broken, I quit adventuring and focused all my time on my pregnancy. After a long and hard term I gave birth to not one but two beautiful calves, one bull and one heifer. Seeing them completely changed the way I viewed the world. I realized that I could not go on following a path of darkness if I wanted my children to lead good and morale lives. I prayed to the God Nayr that he release me from my bond to Pyros and my boon was granted.
I tried to raise my children the best I could. The lack of a father figure was very rough on my son. He constantly was rebelling, getting into trouble at school and with the law. My daughter, on the other hand, was the perfect little heifer. Needless to say, the two of them were always at odds with each other, which made family life very difficult. Now that they are of the age to attend school full time, I am allowed to continue with the development of my skills. Having my children has caused me to realize that I enjoy helping and teaching the young much more than taking advantage of the weak.
I hope that this letter has given you some insight into my life. It would certainly be my pleasure to answer any questions you may have. Again, my thanks to you for taking the time to read about my beginnings. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
With humble regards,
