Isolas

Isolas is a Demi God and leads the Nashite Magi.

Current Description:

Icy tendrils of unease cascade down your spine - a primitive and wholly instinctive, unthinking reaction to the being which has manifested before you. The air stirs around him as if uneasy at his mere presence. Upon the breeze is carried the still air of places of power best left undisturbed, where sorcerous rites taint the very bones of the earth. His demeanor is detached and inhuman, as uncaring for the struggles of the mortal realm as a storm for the landscape it ravages. Cold light glows in his ancient, knowing eyes, within them whispers of countless secrets and unholy knowledge. He looks deeply into your heart and soul with a single glance, judge and jury all in one. You are measured, balanced, and found wanting.

When he speaks, his voice is as quiet and colorless as a graveyard at midnight, but is still touched with a slight elven accent despite the centuries. 'If you have found the grace of Lord Nash, your soul will be at peace. If not, everlasting torments will be yours.'

Past Immortal Description:
The elf that stands before you radiates an intense light. His aura flows around him, swirling in time with the pulsing energies of Magic itself. His eyes are grave, and they look deeply into your heart and soul, judge and jury all in one, staggering in their weight. He bears a tome under one arm, ancient and full of secrets known only to the Magi. Upon its surface, runes and sigla appear, shift and move, in a pattern easily recognized as matching His heartbeat. It is said that the core of magic is the innermost depths of the soul - gazing into His eyes once more, it seems clearly a truth He has embraced.

Past Mortal Description:
His hands rise, the magic within him encompassing their expanse, despite the length of his fingers. It flares outwards, a circle of dark depths unknown to those without the gift. He vanishes from sight before you can garner more than a respectable glance of him. That one glance burns itself into your mind. Light auburn hair gently caresses his broad shoulders, turning up at the slightest provocation or breeze. Green eyes that mimic the hearty tones of grass well-watered beneath a bright sun. His lanky form is now nowhere to be seen, but still the memory persists. The eyes possessed a depth that would indicate very intense emotion brewing beneath them, revealed more often by his expression than by his words. Sensitivity, as the magic took him, a shudder and shiver that danced across his frame before he vanished from sight. Decidedly elven, with the aristocratic proportions of his nose, his eyes, his cheekbones...yet the softening of full lips, as the smile of fulfillment with the joining of his magic took over as he disappeared from view. Not easily forgotten, nor easily befriended, this elf remains a mystery.

Character History:

(Written for entry in to the Chosen of Fate in 2003. Does not include history after that point.)

In the year 2569, on Zoardryn the 15th in the month of Apathy at precisely noon, in the great woods surrounding Loth Llorien, born into the realm was one of the most unique people in history. His name? Isolas Starleaf. Older brother to Kylanae Starleaf, Isolas and his brother spent much of their childhood in the tree-city, especially the guild of mages and wizards. The elven wizards were kind to the children, and would often practice their new illusions on the children, much to their delight. When they reached the appropriate age, the two brothers joined the mages' guild themselves, and chose to serve Lord Myronides, God of the Elves. There they learned the spells they had always enjoyed watching as a child. But, that was not enough for the boys. they took on the ranger class, and even later, that of the thieves. Life was good, and Isolas met a young beautiful elf named Rosalind. But as life went on, Kylanae was forced to return to their family homestead to tend to family matters. After that, life became overwhelming for Rosalind, and she ended her life. Isolas felt alone, but had many friends: most notably Natilena, Rone, Silonch, DarkClaw, Marisa, and Lord Tokugawa (I'm undoubtedly leaving out many - *profuse apologies!!*) Then, when he felt nothing could get worse, it did.

Lord Myronides announced that he was leaving the realm, no longer interested in living amongst people he did not know. The week that followed came and went slowly, and alas, he retired. Isolas was crushed. The atmosphere of Tel'Quessir could not be recreated. In an attempt to work off his anger and disappointment, he tried to adventure a bit. Well, he died a few times in the process, simply lowering his morale to unbelievable lows. Then, a glimmer of hope: a friend he had recently made in late night conversations, Wylin the Dwarf. Wylin confided that he would be seeking immortality to attempt to revive the dying community of Goods. On top of being good, Isolas knew Wylin was a fun soul. Isolas vowed he would worship Wylin when he reached an appropriate level. It was then Isolas was referred by many, including close friends Schwartz, Oook, and DarkClaw to the Chosen of Fate. He explored their vast sanctuary and fell in love with the people and atmosphere, but also understood that his promise to Lord Wylin would eventually lead them to parting paths.

6/22/03: Isolas ascends to Ra:15 Ma:15 Th:12. The same day, according to the time line, Isolas decides he "officially dislikes Hunt."

6/30/03: Isolas ascends to Ma:17\Th:15\Ra:15.

09/29/03: Isolas requests release from Cordir and joins Wylin's Enforcers.

10/15/03: Isolas joins Wylin for the second time.

12/05/03: Isolas is rejected from Wylin's following and joins the Darkness of Kerriariadne.

2/6/04: Isolas 'cons' a prize out of Tokugawa. Log by Marisa. <LOG>

2/7/04: Tamar hosts a quest and Isolas is officially encouraged to participate. <LOG>

3/2/04: Isolas notes for the time line that he passed 1mil total xp, took over as Captain of Longship, and got a bottle of rum from Tamar as a present.

4/13/04: Isolas leaves Kerriariadne's Darkness and joins the Chosen of Fate for the second time.

5/4/04: Isolas weds Erian. The wedding is officiated by Cordir. <LOG>

8/18/04: Isolas reaches effective 50th (Th:30 Ra:30 Ma:30)

06/13/05: Isolas celebrates his 1400 year birthday.

08/19/05: Isolas is reformed from Cordir's following as he is granted the Immortal position of Ambassador.

08/21/05: Isolas celebrates his 1600 year birthday.

09/11/05: Isolas becomes Attendant to Cordir. While this is a violation of mud tradition, based on the pantheon at the time, Tynian allows it.

10/10/05: Isolas is promoted to DemiGod. He creates the following of the Nashite Magi. His first worshipper is Drakar.

05/22/06: Isolas grants Ordainment to Cider.

12/14/06: Isolas grants Ordainment to Totec.
