Speaking of Keller

From The Final Challenge Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Backstory: Years earlier, Cordir was wed to Keller Amberlin D'Augustine, which.. well.. didn't go very well. The destruction of their relationship had ripples for years, and in one of her more bloodthirsty moments, Cordir hired Alecto of the Black Conclave to murder Keller's new wife, Kylera. (Alecto was unsuccessful, but committed repeated offenses upon Kylera's person.) Eventually, Keller and Kylera had twin girls - one of which was Natalie Rose D'Augustine... who was entirely curious about the relationship that had once existed between her father and the Lady of Fate. Included here, because RP doesn't have to be big and complex - it can simply be a discussion about the past. 8/29/99

Within The Tapestry of Fate [Exits: north]
( 4) A delicious magic mushroom is here.
The Loom of the Weaver is here, coruscating with an unearthly radiance.
(Purple Aura) Natalie is here.
(Purple Aura) Mireya is here.
(Purple Aura) Talmud is resting here.

Natalie says (in common), 'oh...that reminds me. I was supposed to ask you a question, but you darted off.'

Cordir arches an eyebrow inquiringly. 'I?.'

Natalie nods. 'Yesterday when I was speaking to my father, I was to ask you if you pitied him, and if you thought of him as...' She pauses in thought a moment.

Arching an eyebrow inquiringly, Cordir asks, 'bloodthirsty?.'

Natalie says (in common), 'a bloodlaiden...bloodthirsty... something like that.'

Cordir says, 'I overheard his comment. His voice carries far.'

Natalie says (in common), 'a bloodthirsty ....something or other.'
Natalie raises an eyebrow. 'Do you?.'

The Lady of Fate smiles quietly. 'If your father wishes to know what I think of him... He should ask me himself.'

'That's the problem,' Natalie chuckles. 'He thinks he knows.'

'But he inevitably ascribes the worst to me.'

Natalie says (in common), 'he wanted to prove it by me asking you.'

Cordir smiles sadly. 'He is convinced that I am going to hurt you, and no words I say will convince him otherwise.'

Natalie says (in common), 'well he also wanted me to relay this to you.'
She pauses, thinking of how to word it.

Mireya says (in common), 'Nod, he was telling me stories of...um...your not so good days.'

Natalie raises an eyebrow.

Natalie says (in common), 'I only have one not so good day that I can remember.'

Mireya says (in common), 'not yours, my mother's.'

Cordir says, 'I do not speak to his kin of his sins..'

Natalie says (in common), 'oh.'

Cordir says, 'And I do not appreciate him telling tales of my past to you, Mireya. If you wish to know, you can either ask me, read the Tapestries, or call the fires.'

Natalie takes a step back into a shadow and waits for the heaviness of the room to lift.

Mireya says (in common), 'He said he was a friend, I just talked to him about his relationship....he kinda took it too far.'

Cordir says, 'Natalie, I think it is fair to say your father thinks little of me.'

Natalie shakes her head.

Mireya says (in common), 'I think he still hurts.'

Cordir says, 'No matter my own views of him, he believes... what he wishes to believe.'

Natalie says (in common), 'not exactly M'lady.'
Natalie says (in common), 'that's what I was just about to tell you.'

Natalie drinks water from a water jug.
Natalie nods in recognition to Mireya.

Mireya smiles happily.

Natalie says (in common), 'he does still hurt....about a lot of things, that is true. he blames himself for every bad thing that has happened to someone he loves. But that's not what I was supposed to say.' She smiles down at Cordir.

'Well... he and I are similar in that respect.' Cordir smiles sadly.

Natalie says (in common), 'I am supposed to say that he knows you have changed from the person he knew long ago, you have grown....... he hasn't, he dwells in the past, and he can't seem to pull himself out. He's fighting ghosts that aren't rightly his.'

Mireya nods.

Cordir clasps her hands before her, and looks down at them.

Natalie says (in common), 'I guess you could say he has an eternal haunt spell cast on him.'

Cordir says, 'I do not like to speak of Keller. Those are unhealed wounds...'

Natalie nods.

Cordir says, 'But.. I will say this...'

Natalie starts hemming her skirt.
Natalie looks at Cordir.

Cordir says, 'He has my sorrow, but not my pity.'
Cordir says, 'He has my love, but not my heart.'
Cordir says, 'and he has my acceptance, if not my understanding.'

Natalie prays, 'are they wounds that would ever be healed?.'

Cordir says, 'Does that answer all your questions?.'

Natalie nods in recognition to you. Natalie says quietly, 'Yes ma'am.'

Talmud has returned from the void.
Talmud ftells, 'back.'

Mireya says (in common), 'Um...no...no...not on that subject anyway.'

Cordir says, 'and as for whether or not he is bloodthirsty...' She shrugs. 'Aren't we all, when the occasion comes to us?. Your father and I drew each other's blood on many an occasion.'

Cordir says, 'What questions do you have, Mireya? Perhaps its time this was all set straight.'

Mireya says (in common), 'nothing...it's obvious you hurt to speak of it.'

Cordir says, 'I would rather get it all answered… So that this spectre does not keep returning to haunt me. So ask.'

Mireya says (in common), 'You won't get mad again?.'

Cordir says, 'I am not angry, Mireya, at you. Nor at Natalie. And not even at Talmud.' She flashes him a grin.

Talmud raises an eyebrow. Talmud scratches his head.

Natalie stares at the ground. 'But you are angry..' She sighs loudly and curtseys gracefully.

Cordir says, 'Natalie, talking about this HURTS.'

Natalie says (in common), 'I need to go someplace.' Natalie nods in recognition to Cordir.

Mireya says (in common), 'Well, he told me there was a time you were not well mentally, but said he shouldn't have said it and wouldn't talk further of it.'

Natalie says (in common), 'I understan..' Natalie frowns.

Cordir says, 'It is ... difficult.... however.. It seems it is a matter of importance to you both..'

Natalie sits back down and shakes her head. 'All my questions are answered.'

Cordir says, 'You, Natalie, because he is your father… And you, Mireya, because he spoke of it to you and you now have questions about your mother. And yes, for a time, I was not... well... in my mind, that is true enough.'

Cordir says more quietly, 'What other questions do you have?'

Natalie shivers uncomfortably.

Mireya says (in common), 'that is it. He worries about you is all, and I knew that was something you would have a hard time speaking of a time best forgotten.'

Cordir says, 'Keller worries about me because he thinks I will harm those he loves...'

Mireya says (in common), 'but it made me realize there was something about you I didn't know...and...I guess I just wanted to know as much as I could.'

Cordir says, 'Kennet and Natalie.'

Natalie says softly, 'Were there no happy memories?.'

Cordir gives (Flowing) a theologian's cloak to Talmud.
Talmud bows before her.

Cordir says quietly, 'Many.'

Natalie says (in common), 'then why not think of some of those...and not so hard on the bad times.'

Natalie says (in common), 'maybe it won't hurt so much.'

Cordir says, 'In general, I do not think of those times at all, unless prompted by Lord D'Augustine.'

Natalie nods.

Natalie gets a midnight blue bodice from bag made from frost giant hide.

Natalie begins to embroider some flowers on her bodice.

Natalie watches the spiders move from the opening.

Cordir says, 'There is a lot of my life you don't know, sweetling. Any time you want to ask... ask.'

Natalie looks at Cordir.
Natalie looks at Mireya.
Natalie curtseys gracefully.

Cordir says softly, "Natalie... I wouldn't have made that gambeson for you if I didn't have _some_ good memories."

Natalie leaves north.

Mireya says (in common), .'..I wanted to know...but didn't want to know...if that makes any sense.'

Cordir nods.

Natalie prays, 'thank you M'lady.'

Cordir says, 'All right, dearest..'
