INTRO

Get a MUD client. I have one here for you. [Note: File not available]
Click here for my tintin++ directory.

I also have the macros for the programs.

I strongly recommend getting tintin++ or other client and then load up the TFCbasic macro [Note: File not available]. Load it by typing #read TFCbasic at the mud prompt while tt++ is running. If you are running another client like zMUD, these macros should be easy to port over.

  1. Start as a Human
  2. As soon as you enter the game for first time run through MG and goto the two gates. Pick up all you can carry, especially the armor of your specific class. Wear all and comp the rest to get the best stuff you can.
  3. Sell the remaining stuff in the shops...
  4. Go back for more till all stuff is gone from floor. Check pit also.
  5. You should now have some fairly good money. Go to weapon shop and buy a good weapon that is compatible to your class

***GENERAL**** strengths:
0. daggers
1. small swords
2. short swords
3. hammer, flail
4. long sword, morning star
5. mace
6. Go to armory or to leathershop and get the best armor in there. Buy the one best you can afford rather than lots of small stuff. Scale Mail stuff from MG armorer is best he has to offer. You may also head South on the GWR to Landru's Keep. Pick up all swords and platemail. Comp all these. Pick out the best. Chuck or sell the rest unless you are a ranger.
7. Go to the Magic Shop in MG and buy a tattered scroll for each weapon you want to use. (i.e Rangers get two for the two swords they picked up in Landrus)
8. You should have enough money from selling stuff to buy the above things... if not, ask for money or kill fidos. The guards will attack you if they see you attacking janitors or beggars so beware. The next few things should be done as LAG and PLAYERS permit
9. You want to get a high level mage of your current alignment to enchant your weapons. Look for a l 25 or higher mage like Syrinx, Kaern, or GrayGhost. Ask them politely to enchant your weapon with the scrolls you bought. An enchant, depending on the level of the caster will add DAM and HIT to your weapon. Most mages at this level will be invis so ask on gossip and let them know you have enchant scrolls.
This is a level-by-level guide to quick levelling. Use it to your hearts content, but beware... this isn't the only way nor is it the safest way nor the most exciting way...
With that in mind lets go get powerful......

LEVEL 1.

Set wimp to 5. Go to the Midgaard park. Kill all there. Occasionally you will get good stuff from mobs. Typically 80 - 150 pts exp per mob , but they don't repop very quickly so move on to mud school. Kill all the monsters, but leave the puddings alone at this point. They are too powerful right now. Go down and buy a skin in the store... they are cheaper than in the general store. Buy some rations also... Go N,open e,E, and N and kill the creature. Get key and go S. Un E,Op E, E. Look at the beast. If he has a weapon don't attempt the kill. Open N and if you feel brave kill the beast. If he has a diploma GET IT. It is very valuable at this time. You open the North gate first so that if you have to flee you do so into the arena. Now go back to the pond and kill all there. By this time you should be VERY close to level 2. Kill fidos until you level.

LEVEL 2.

****S A V E**** Go back to MUD school and kill all monsters and if your weapons mostly injure, kill puddings. Load up the TFCarena file into tintin++ ( #read arena). This contains all the reactions to all of the mobs in arena except rats, puddings, spectators, fans, and the stuff in the cellar. It is now just a matter of running around the arena like a maniac, killing everything that you come across... Don't worry... with these macros you shouldn't interfere with another player's fight. If you are feeling brave load up TFCarena2. This has the fans, puddings, and spectators on it. Remember to go back to MUD school cages and pond when you have cleared arena. Keep killing fidos, janitors, drunks, and beggars. Watch out for the guards and don't try the vagabonds yet. Keep an eye out for ALL amulets and other jewelry, Watch for better armor also. You should level quickly to 3 if no lag.

LEVEL 3.

****S A V E**** More of the Level 2 stuff. Another 15-30 mins with no lag and you should be at level 4.

LEVEL 4.

****S A V E**** Ask an elf to buy you a pouch, if you don't already have one. Go to the magic shop and buy 4 clear red potions. (RECALL POTIONS) Type cont pouch and food nuts. Go to the MG inn and type getfood.Fill up to capacity on food. On your way to the East gate fill your skin at the fountain. Go to the East gate then one more E. Rest until your moves are greater than 100. Set wimpy as high as it will go. Type mutant, this is a speedwalk to the mutant area. You will be going through Hovelton, which has aggressive guards. The good news is that they seldom see you run past them if they are even on the path to start with. If you get attacked don't fight. Flee and quaff. If all went right you will be at the entrance to the Mutant area. Load TFCmutant into the client. This has all the mobs except the men.

Set wimp 10 1/4 of max hit

THIS IS A VERY GOOD PLACE TO PRAC THINGS. mages.. set sod (spell of the day) to magic missile
clerics.. set sod (spell of the day) to magic stone
shamans.. set sod (spell of the day) to rift
rangers, warriors, thieves, set sod to kill

NOTE: thieves may want to alter the macros so that they try to steal coins or typical jewelry items from specific mobs. (i.e. steal misty amulet from water drop, steal coins slug;steal root slug;) What this does is cast your spell on all mobs in room one at a time. You WILL gain higher levels on your spells this way.

Keep an eye on your HP's if they get low set SOD to nil. this will prevent you from auto killing, and then just rest till the HP's come up.

The tubes are good containers, the roots and meat are food and the coconuts are milk containers.

Keep all random jewelry, not the normal stuff the mobs carry like tin ring, pearl necklace etc.

The macro is designed to sacrifice ALL junk items, and pick up all food and drink items. At level 4, by yourself in this area you will level before you get to the end of the area. EXPLORE the area. No aggressives. Main heading is SW to get to the end. If your food is good and water is good stay in the area for the next level. If not quaff out or find the Chieftain's hut and go down and east... this will take you back to the Guild.
NOTE: the Hovelton guards will not see you if you are invis, or if sneak is good enough.

LEVEL 5.

****S A V E****

  • Go find a mage to Id the randoms you found in the mutant area.
  • Restock your food and water.
  • Sell your unneeded items.
  • Prac any new spells you got.
  • Go back to mutant area and go through it again. Keep the same sod until it gets to superb.

LEVEL 6.

****S A V E****

  • If you haven't allready, load up TFCmtmen this is the kill macros for all the mutant men. Be careful at first, some have weapons and can disarm you. Some also hit hard. Two or three loops through the Mutant area should level you.

LEVEL 7.

****S A V E****

  • Go through mutant area again about 6 time this time to level. Keep an eye on your food and water and keep getting those randoms id'd.
  • By now your sod should be VERY close to superb, if it is switch to next sod. Thieves should now have thier sod set to BS to improve on that.

NOTE: sneak, and track are good things to set right before you call the speedwalk to mutants. The long path will hike up the skill quicker.

LEVEL 8.

****S A V E**** THIS IS THE EXPLORATION LEVEL
By now the exp is getting pretty slim in the Mutant Area. Now it is time to find the racial cities. I won't help you find those but there is a lot of exp to be had fighting guards. Dwarvenhold is one of the better places to find exp. Go through the Kobold area that is by the gnomes. Kill all the kobolds there and go up the mountain and find the Kobold Pouch and the rat mask. That quest will get you a lot of exp also. Lizard Swamp will probably be weak on exp but you can try. The Goblin Mines have the potential for some good randoms and minor exp.

LEVEL 9.

****S A V E****

  • EXPLORE the Dwarven Mines that are west of Elemental Canyon, and South of Gnome area. But only if neutral or evil because all are Blue aura mobs.
  • EXPLORE Dwarvenhold, beware of the Drunken Something Inn.
  • Find the COCKROACHES and EXPLORE
  • Find Holy Grove and EXPLORE
  • FIND Malenest, it is North of Harper's. Kill all there.

LEVEL 10.

****S A V E****

LEVEL 11 - 15.

  • MORE level 10 stuff
  • EXPLORE Harper's Landing
  • EXPLORE the Frozen North... (Polar bear area)

***IMPS**** Take the hint.. We need more level 8-15 areas.

LEVEL 16.

  • If you have close to ***DEMOLISHING*** spells and around 150 -200 hp, go to Landru's Keep.
  • WORK Dwarvenold, and Explore Bazzar.

LEVEL 17.

Level 18.
