Area Proposal

Dear Sirak:

I would like to submit the following as a proposed area for TFC:
Area Type: Destroyed Underground City
Area Name: Tier Sh’Halen
Area Size: 60 rooms
Target Level: Players 15-20

Area Purpose:
To fill a perceived need for areas in the 15th to 20th level range for players. Currently that is a difficult range for many players with currently only a few areas written specifically for those levels (3 that are 5 to 20, 3 that are 10-20, and 4 that are 15-25). I also wanted to write an area that had an emphasis on the story and history of the area – I was strongly inspired by Mount Aire and N’Kai. I’d like to create something with a very gothic flavor, with detailed and lyrical descriptions - as much an interactive story as an area to level in. I also want to create a library. Something that has always disappointed me as a player is the lack of readily available history for TFC - yes, there is the Room of Records, and stories told here and there, but creation myths, histories of the land and gods, legends, etc., are sadly lacking. I’d like assist in correcting that. Whether it be a treatise on the founding of the Aara City and it’s greatest heroes (or anti-heroes), or the Tale of the Triat, or the peculiar anatomy of the Gelf Mutants, the [non removable] books in the library of Tier Sh’Halen could tell those tales.

Area Features:
Recall/Transfer/Teleport out only. Alignment based safe rooms, private rooms, lockable rooms, a vortex exit/entry point, food and water sources, bad food/water, entryways through stationary objects, mobs of all various types - wandering, stationary, aggressive, etc., treasure items that are limited by class, sex, alignment, etc.

General Description:
Tier Sh’Halen is.. well, was.. a small but thriving village of artisans. They were rather unfortunately destroyed by the passing of the Wyld in It’s last Time of Waking (around the time of Thalos’s destruction). It’s entrance has lain undiscovered in the little valley in the mountains that was it’s shelter, until recently… There’s a bit of “corridor” called the Dead Marches (7 rooms) to the Tombstone entryway that leads down to the village proper (45 rooms). Deeper underneath the city is a tiny section of caves and tunnels (8 rooms) that can be reached one of two ways. This could be used as a connector to another area, or expanded at a later date.

Currently I have the area completely written out in Microsoft Word document form. I now have access to a copy of your area editor, and can have a finished draft finished within two to three weeks at most, if approved. FYI, I’ll probably have the proofreading assistance of two Immortal area designers - Khore and Molo, if that is allowable.

Thanks for your time and consideration,
Cordir
PS: Please note that use of the Triat mythology is with the permission of Thaygar.
