The Storytelling Amphitheater
[Exits: west]
You are in a small amphitheater. Several rows of curved marble benches curl comfortably around a raised dais. The high ceiling and polished stone walls are shaped to reflect the voice of the speaker at the dais, letting them be heard throughout the room. An open archway to the west leads out into a small courtyard.
Foghair is resting here.

Ghazkull gossips (in elven), 'good evening sleeping Almond'.

Foghair whispers, could you cast comprehend on me?

Samiyah makes a complicated-looking gesture.

Foghair says (in common), 'I have no idea what he just said'.

Foghair fidgets nervously.

Tamar calmly enters and stands nearby.

Ghazkull draws a funny looking rune on Sami.

Samiyah glances down at the glowing rune on her wrist and smiles.

Samiyah makes a complicated-looking gesture.

Foghair hums the tune of a song about whales.

Samiyah curls up on one of the benches.

Foghair says (in common), 'Shall I begin? Or are we waiting on anyone else?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'it's generally considered good to announce on gossip, in case Raage might want to attend?'.

Ghazkull sits next to his Bonded, placing an arm around her as he does so.

Foghair gossips (in common), 'Ahem, I'll be performing a story for my Bard's Council exam in a minute or two, Raage. If you're interested, we're in the amphitheater'.

Raage gossips (in common), 'ah...cool. let me kill this mob and I'll run on over'.

Samiyah grins happily.

Foghair gossips (in common), ':)'.

Foghair shakes his head, as if clearing out the cobwebs.

Raage arrives from the west.
Raage rests.

Foghair beams a smile at Raage.

Raage smiles happily.

Samiyah cheers enthusiastically at the way things are going.

Foghair says (in common), 'By your leave?'.

Foghair looks at Taar.

Foghair blushes.

Foghair looks at Tamar.

Tamar nods in recognition to Foghair.

Foghair sits down on a small bench in the center of the amphitheater.
Foghair rests.

Foghair says (in common), 'Welcome, all'.

Foghair says (in common), 'I would like to tell you the story of how the bat got its wings'.

Foghair pauses and smiles.

Foghair says (in common), 'Once upon a time, oh best beloved, in the Caverns of NKai,'.

Foghair says (in common), 'there lived all manner of dark and mysterious creatures.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'And the most dark and mysterious of them all was Bat. '.

Foghair says (in common), 'Few could tell you what he looked like in those days for he liked to be so terribly dark and mysterious.'.

Foghair pauses and takes a breath.

Foghair says (in common), 'Bat would climb out upon its Wind-Worn Ledge, spread its darkest arms, and'.

Foghair pauses and looks out at the assembled people.

Foghair says (in common), 'Oftentimes, in Darkest Night when none of the other dark and mysterious creatures were awake,'.

Foghair says (in common), 'the Bat would climb up out of the slippery-slidey shadows of the Calm Cave and'.

Foghair says (in common), 'look up into the gale-force winds that swept through the Caverns of his home.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'It would count the bones of the statues and it would name the patterns of rocks on the walls'.

Foghair says (in common), 'and it would dream of catching the Wind as it howled through the caverns...'.

Foghair says (in common), 'as it howled throughout all the caverns...'.

Foghair says (in common), 'Bat caught the Wind and became one with it, until it couldnt tell where one began and the other ended.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'What once was only the Bat, now the Wind, blew out of the Caverns and into all of the realms of all the world.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'He flew high and he flew low, topaz eyes gazing down upon all the places hed only scented,'.

Foghair says (in common), 'only dreamed of in Darkest Night.'.

Foghair looks up, as if watching something fly across the skies.

Foghair says (in common), 'As he flew, his wings grew longer and he grew stronger until one day he flew so fast,'.

Foghair says (in common), 'he outran the sun and the moon and flew over a desert and for the first time in his life flew out into Brightest Day.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'In Brightest Day, his topaz eyes glowed and he swooped and turned, reveling in the warmth of the sun on his fur.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'In Brightest Day, best beloved, Almond Eyes gazed upwards and saw his revelry.'.


Samiyah looks at Wind

Foghair says (in common), 'At first she thought him another mirage, just more waves shimmering in the desert heat.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'For in the golden light of Brightest Day his true colors shone.'.

Ghazkull smiles happily.

Foghair says (in common), 'What in Darkest Night looked dark and dreary, in truth, shimmered and gleamed like the purest silver.'.

Foghair tilts his head and grins happily.

Ghazkull glances down as his mark fades.

Samiyah cannot help but reach out to caress a lock of Wind's hair.

Foghair says (in common), 'Parched from the desert heat, Wind flew down to the oasis where Almond Eyes rested and'.

Foghair says (in common), 'splashed the cool waters of the pool onto his fur then spread his wings to fly again.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'But her gasp at his beauty so near stopped him.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'There in that desert, Wind and Almond met and their Bond began.'.

Ghazkull smiles at Samiyah.

Foghair catches Ghazkull and Samiyah’s eyes.

Samiyah beams a smile at Wind.

Foghair says (in common), 'Wind and Almond flew upward laughing and followed the breeze.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'For days and weeks and years they flew, chasing the sun, chasing the moon.'.

Foghair says (in common), 'Their adventures became the stuff of legends. How he became a Vampire Bat'.

Ghazkull blinks.

Foghair looks to the East.

Foghair looks to the West.

Ghazkull bows his head.

Foghair looks down at the floor and his voice lowers.

Foghair raises a fist to the sky.

Foghair’s face slowly creases as a smile grows like the dawning of the day.

Foghair stands and searches the crowd.

Foghair stops searching as his eyes fix on Ghazkull.

Foghair says (in common), 'He will succeed, best beloveds, we know he will.'.

Samiyah nods.

Foghair bows.

Samiyah claps her hands together.

Foghair says (in common), 'How the bat got its wings'.

Raage is so excited that he cheers just for the hell of it.
Raage gives a round of applause.

Ghazkull gives Foghair some gold.

Tamar claps at Foghair's performance.

Raage stands up.

Raage utters the words, 'xafe ay candusqarr'.
Raage invokes recall magic.
Raage disappears suddenly.

Foghair bows before Tamar.
