A Wide Trail
[Exits: north south]
You are traveling a wide trail through the Valley of Loth-Llorien. Huge
trees grow all about you, towering over the trail. To the west of the trail
is a huge tree, with a doorway set in its trunk. The trail continues to
the south and opens out into a large glade to the north.
The sky is rainy and a cold northern gust blows.

The Hall of Bards
[Exits: east up]
You are within a huge tree. This room fills it completely, the walls arcing
in the circle of the trunk. Numerous stools and benches give the room a cozy
clutter, but the high ceiling keeps it from feeling full. Writing tables and
bins for music are set against the walls, and above them, on pegs, hang
musical instruments of all shapes and sizes. A curtained doorway leads out
of the tree to the east and a spiral staircase leads up.
The Bard of Loth-Llorien is here.

Baird has had the title of Bard of Loth-Llorien since before the Great

learn, and spends his days practicing his art.

Legolas gossips (in common), '### [Aoide tells Baird (in elven), 'and what would you have me do?']'.
% l relief
The carving depicts a mighty oak, many stories tall and far wider than a
normal tree. Its branches look small compared to its bulk, almost
afterthoughts. Small balconies jut out at intervals on its sides, and the
tip of its tower seems to support a wide platform. The light wood of the
carving has been lightly stained with a green pigment to color the greenery
that covers the tree. A small metal tag at the base of the carving is
inscribed, in Elven runes: 'Cillidellia'.
Legolas gossips (in common), 'the plot thickens'.

The northern wall seems taken up by woodwinds: clarinets, recorders, flutes

% l master
Tall and slender, with the elegant hands of a musician, Master Amati
has been teaching his craft for hundreds of years. It is he that first
gave a young boy named Stravari a wood-plane and taught him to make
violins. It was Master Amati who inspired the Rogeri clan to make the
world famed war-drums of the half-elves (and act that caused no small
discord at the Court), and who first made record of the drum-songs of
the Ogres. If a living patron saint of music exists: it is Master elf.
