The Warning

(Log by Samiyah)

You tell Zephyr (in common), 'I need to warn you of something. I am not sure if it was just a dream or not, but....'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'but what lass?'.

You tell Zephyr (in common), 'I think that Sahib Wish said something about trying to destroy the shield.'.

Zephyr laughs.

Samiyah rubs her burning eyes.

You shrug.

Zephyr says (in common), 'he be hard pressed to be getting his hands on dat'.

You say (in common), 'I am not sure.'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'stupid nash god.’.
Zephyr pulls out a bottle of rum and takes a sip.
Zephyr says (in common), 'dat nash god be chasing another ghost'.
Samiyah springs up from the bench, pacing.

You say (in common), 'Nash is .. is phooey as far as I am concerned and does not exist but Sahib Wish certainly does. So… I give you fair warning'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'not right in da head if ya be asking me. I no fear them fools she be safe locked away'.
Zephyr nods in recognition to you.
Zephyr leaves east.

Samiyah shifts restlessly, her hand falling to her side to check a weapon that is not there.

Samiyah paces a bit, pausing to rub her eyes.

Zephyr arrives from the west.

You say (in common), 'hello again'.

Zephyr nods in recognition to you.

Samiyah tries to sit and relax on one of the benches.

Zephyr says (in common), 'why are ya be 'stupid stubborn desert lass'.

You say (in common), 'Because Wish said so.'.

You say (in common), 'though it is impudence and I should stop'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'oh da foolish god dat believes in ghosts'.
Zephyr takes a drink of rum.

Samiyah shifts and rises, pacing around the fountain.

Zephyr says (in common), 'whatcha be doin’ lass'.

Samiyah's hand slides to her hip as if to check a weapon that is not there.

Zephyr says (in common), 'need a nip lass'.
Zephyr holds out the bottle.

Samiyah shakes her head no...
Samiyah glances at it despite herself.

You say (in common), 'No.'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'soot yaself'.
Zephyr takes a drink.

You say (in common), 'It would be weakness. I will show none.'.

Zephyr says (in common), 'den why ya be walking in here wearing a trail in da floor'.
Zephyr looks surprised.
Zephyr says (in common), 'da boogieman get ya?'.

Samiyah paces restlessly, shifting her shoulders.

Zephyr says (in common), 'ya be keep wearing dat floor out I needs to pay me dues to the lass downstairs'.

Zephyr stands up.
Zephyr leaves west.

Samiyah's hand absently falls to her hip.

Samiyah gossips (in common), 'Will it involve better.... *curbs her tongue*'.

You gossip, 'a better buffet?'.

Samiyah gossips (in common), 'I should not have spoken. Your pardon, Sahib.'.

You gossip, 'hmmm....well, since you did not complete your question, I suppose I shan't have to answer it. I am not an easily offended Immortal. Your impudence is amusing, that is all. However, as with all God's, I suppose I am fickle.'.

Cantor arrives from the south.
Cantor bows deeply.

You bow before him.
You say, 'hello Cantor'.

Ebony gossips (in minotaur), 'better then pickled'.

Cantor says (in common), 'just exploring did not mean to intrude'.

Samiyah gossips (in common), 'I am trying to be good and mind my manners. Sometimes with better success than others.'.

You say, 'no intrusion'.

You say, 'All are welcome in my Coral Cave'.
You say, 'if they can get in, of course'.

Cantor says (in common), 'I like the description of temple '.

You say, 'thank you...I apologize for the...typo'.
Wish refers to the last sentence.
Wish points his 5th tentacle with disgust.

Cantor comforts you.

You make a vain attempt to comfort yourself.

You say, 'hmmm, you look a bit incomplete, Cantor'.

Cantor says (in common), 'no one follows you ?'.
Cantor says (in common), 'oh a friend told me I should try here '.

You say, 'Alas, my following is new, and small...but I do have some followers'.

Cantor says (in common), 'he gave me some extra stuff he had'.

You smile at him.
You say, 'If you are new to this realm, then I doubly welcome you'.

Cantor says (in common), 'yes that sami lady told me my name was close to another who once was here '.
Cantor says (in common), 'I picked it cause I started cleric'.
Cantor chuckles, evidently amused.

You smile happily.
You nod.
You say, 'Yes, there have been others with like names'.
You say, 'and Sami...she is certainly not all she appears...that much I have personally become aware of'.

You say, 'However, I was speaking of your description'.
You say, 'not necessarily your current garb'.

Cantor says (in common), 'so do you have a rule book or a requirement book of sorts ?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '... we did speak at length, did we not? or was that another fever dream?'.

Cantor says (in common), 'ah I see =D'.

You say, 'even a young human boy like yourself should have...well, something '.

Cantor says (in common), 'just started not much thought into such things yet'.
Cantor looks at Cantor.

You tell Samiyah, 'We spoke, Samiyah, yes. It was not a dream. Although parts of it may have been imagined.'.

You say, 'well, I am sure you will get to it in time'.

Cantor says (in common), 'ah dang i'm ugly'.

Wish looks on curiously.
You say, 'To me, all Humans are ugly.'.

Cantor chuckles, evidently amused.

You say, 'But I am sure, they say the same about me.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*nods slowly* I was sure of it... but then... not as much. Thank you, Sabih. That eases my mind somewhat.'.

You say, 'as for Alchemy rules and requirements, we have none of that'.
You say, 'however, there is an Alchemists' Code'.

Cantor says (in common), 'oh ?'.

Wish points nonchalantly to the north wall with his 2nd tentacle.
A small sea urchin begins crawling towards Cantor from the wall of the Coral Cave.

You tell Samiyah, 'I am glad your mind is at ease.'.
You tell Samiyah, 'However, I would not advise getting used to the feeling.'.
You tell Samiyah, 'You have done damage to yourself. And perhaps to other things in this realm.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*cautiously* I know I am not fully ... well.. the dreams linger.. and a sense that something is missing'.

Cantor says (in common), 'straight forward cannot claim ignorance if you have read them'.

You nod in recognition to him.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'I cannot compose myself enough to meditate.'.

You say, 'That is true. The Alchemists' Code provides freedom...guidance...and a warning.'.

Cantor nods.

You tell Samiyah, 'Something missing, you say? Or something...added..perhaps...'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'Sahib explained .. '.

You say, 'Should have any questions, please let me know'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'I will grow accustomed to them over time...'.
Samiyah tells you (in common), '*quietly* It was worth the price paid.. to understand.'.

Cantor nods in recognition to you.

The sea urchin nearly touches Cantor's foot.

Cantor says (in common), 'aren't those poisonous'.
Cantor chuckles, evidently amused.

You say, 'Do you mean this?'.
Wish points to the sea urchin.

Cantor nods.
Cantor nods.

You tell Samiyah, 'I doubt that very much, Samiyah. Does anyone ever become accustomed to a tumor that presses on the brain?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*blink* a what?'.
Samiyah tells you (in common), 'I do not know that word'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Yes, I suppose you would not.'.
You tell Samiyah, 'Do you have trees or cacti where you are from, desert woman?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'palms, yes'.

Wish grabs the sea urchin with his tentacle.
Wish pops his tentacle into his mouth.

Cantor says (in common), 'good ?'.

You say, 'sometimes my tentacles get messed up.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'have you ever seen strange, unnatural lumps on these palms? As if parts of them were growing out of control?'.

You smile happily.

Wish points to the eastern wall with his 6th tentacle.

Cantor says (in common), 'sorry am looking around'.

You say, 'please, take your time'.
You say, 'I too am in the midst of multiple...conversations...shall we say'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'yes - sometimes there is an... an ailment. It must be cut away else the palm will die'.

You say, 'So, please, do not take any significant pauses as me ignoring you.'.

Cantor says (in common), 'I shall not'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'do you say that there is such a thing in me now?'.

Wish begins to sweep up some darkly discolored sand near the entrance to the Coral Cave.

You tell Samiyah, 'I can only say what I suspect. And that is that these dreams...visions you are having...may not only be because a part of you is missing. Have you considered that something may have been added to you...and it is growing?'.

Cantor says (in common), 'sorry I forgot to wipe my feet'.

You shake your head.
You say, 'oh no, it was not you'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*stammers evasively* I .. er... the Sahib... I ... know why... it.. it will ... '.

You say, 'just some blood stained sand that needed sweeping up'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Did you think the Similus and the other objects of Seraph only take from their victims?'.

Cantor says (in common), 'oh that cannot be good'.

You say, 'oh it was not good...but...the victim did not die...yet'.
You say, 'Of course, some things are worse than death, are they not?'.

Cantor nods.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*evasively* I .. um.. have spoken to Seraph and He explained..'.

You tell Samiyah, 'How long have Seraph's toys been out of his control? Do you honestly believe even he still knows what they are? What they can do?'.

Cantor says (in common), 'I should go and grow and come back when I have '.

You say, 'as you wish, Cantor'.

Cantor bows before you.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*hesitantly* A long time.. but they were made for Him. He would know.'.

You say, 'May the Light of Lord Nash shine upon thee.'.

Cantor leaves south.

You tell Samiyah, 'A cobbler makes you a pair of shoes, Samiyah. You wear them, for a time, your feet molding them to yourself. And then, you hand them down to your younger sibling, or a poor hapless person on the street. And they wear them for a time. Do you honestly believe the shoe remains in the shape of your foot forever'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'You should have been a bard, Sahib.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'That is quite a compliment, Samiyah, and I appreciate it deeply.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'You explain things very.... convincingly.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Change, Samiyah. It is perpetual. It is the foundation of the world. I once said souls were immutable. I was wrong. Even they change all the time.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'It is hard to hold to one's own thoughts when speaking to you.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'That is only because I speak so much, desert woman.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Now, know this: The Similus it has Changed you...It is STILL changing you. But there is a reverse corollary. Tell me what it is!'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'what is 'corollary'?'.
Samiyah tells you (in common), 'the substance of your temple?'.

You tell Samiyah, 'hahaha~'.

You tell Samiyah, 'That is quite a guess, Samiyah, but no, the meaning of "corollary" is "A proposition that follows with little or no proof required from one already proven". The Similus has changed you...it is STILL changing you. What is the reverse of that proposition?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '....'.
Samiyah tells you (in common), '*shakes head* No.. that isn't ... He told me... '.

You tell Samiyah, '*sigh* Samiyah, you will discover the truth...whether you wish to or not, and Seraph has not worn those shoes in a long, long, time.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'You believe that my touch is changing Similus? '.

You tell Samiyah, 'Yes, desert girl. I do. '.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'when no other ever has? You said it yourself... how could such a thing be save for the imaginings of a stupid desert girl!?'.

You tell Samiyah, 'I never called you stupid, Samiyah. I would never do that.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*frown* You did not?'.

You tell Samiyah, 'And I stand by what I said. No, I have only called you "silly" Regardless, If I did call you stupid, then I was deeply mistaken. And please, accept my apology.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*blinks, kerflummoxed* There is no need. You are Immortal. You can speak as you
may.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Now, as for what I DID say...I said that these things happening to you were of your own doing. What I mean by this is that it has been YOU who has empowered the Similus. And, by empower the Similus, it has Changed you...it continues to Change you. And you have Changed it...and it continues to Change due to your empowerment.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'The Similus is its own thing.. I do not think the touch of any desert girl would change it.. any more than it would change a person by shaking their hand..'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Your belief...Did we not agree that belief is more powerful than...well, than almost anything?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'yes .. we did agree on Belief... in personages that exist.. but I did not sing to wake Similus .. it was awake already...'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Oh Samiyah. Everything is Changed in some form by even the smallest of encounters. In the end, it matters not what I think. You will discover the truth or untruth of it in Time.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), '*softly, troubled* I will speak of it with Seraph. He will understand and know what to do.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'My third stomach is growling now and needs to be filled.'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'enjoy your meal, Sahib.'.

You tell Samiyah, 'Yes, Seraph will know what to do. I am sure. Thank you, Samihyah. Hopefully it will not squirm so much going down. That gives me heartsburn.'.

The Nature of the Pattern

(log by Wish)

The Coral Cave
[Exits: south]

Cordir fades into existence, wreathed in ebon flame and sable shadow.

You say, 'hello, Cordir'.
You say, 'welcome to the Coral Cave'.

Cordir gives you a piece of red volcanic glass.

You smile happily.

Cordir says, 'Hello, Wish.'.

Cordir: Hello Seraph

Seraph: hi

Cordir gets (Limited Edition) a sepoid plushy from (Tattooed) (Writhing) The Covenant of the Chosen.

You laugh.

Cordir gives you (Limited Edition) a sepoid plushy.

Wish hugs the plushy tightly.

Cordir says, 'a gift .'.

Seraph: what's new in the zoo?

You say, 'I shall treasure it!'.

You bow deeply.

Cordir: Wish is happy.

You put (Limited Edition) a sepoid plushy in a piece of red volcanic glass.

Wish: nod, I am

Cordir waves happily.

You wave.

Cordir gathers the shadows around herself, ebon flames outlining her for a moment.

Cordir: I however am irritated.
Cordir: so consider yourselves warned.

Seraph: why

Cordir: a myriad of reasons.

Cordir: I do not wish to discuss it.

Seraph: so I assume wish got the best of you

Wish: Who me?!
Wish: I just saw Cordir for the first time today.

Seraph: well she is mad and you are happy

Cordir: As usual, Seraph, you leap to the wrong conclusion.

Wish: well, if a brief encounter with me is that effective, I am powerful indeed
Wish: I won't kid myself, however
Wish: Cordir has said she does not wish to discuss it, so let us drop it and move to other things

Seraph: doesn't surprise me

Cordir: what doesn't?

Seraph: nothing
Seraph: well enjoy the silence

Cordir: *mutter*

Wish: and people think I am strange...

Cordir: are you speaking of me or of the departed?

Wish: the departed

Wish: You aren't strange, Cordir. You are moody.
Wish: me, I am even keel at most times.

Cordir: Moody?
Cordir: *considers*
Cordir: I prefer what Khore used to use.

Wish: *feels a rift coming on *
Wish: oh? what was that?

Cordir: Tempestuous.

Wish: hmmm... I suppose so. Although I always thought "tempestuous" implies a childishness that I do not associate
with you

Cordir: *wryly* Though before that, it was Mad One.
Cordir: which I will tolerate from none save him.
Cordir: lest anyone get ideas

Wish: I rarely have ideas
Wish: they are fleeting as a good tasting burp

Cordir: careful wish. your ... beak.. will grow if you tell such lies.
Cordir: You forget.
Cordir: I have known you a very long time
Cordir: and that which I did not witness, I have read in the Pattern.

Wish: indeed...and our long association has been to my benefit and pleasure..*bow*

Cordir: *smiles slightly* Only the naming of Rath as Anathema sorrowed me more then the day you were so named.
Cordir: You have a quick and facile mind. I have long enjoyed our conversations.

Wish: As have I. Now, as for my time as Anathema, I suppose it was a necessary Change for me at the time.

Cordir: ... and you are the only soul in this world quite as self-inflictedly broken as I.

You tell Cordir, 'Broken? I am not broken.'.

Wish: I am quite well, thank you, Cordir.

Cordir: *quiet sigh* Of course you are.

Cordir: well - that is.

Wish: Yes. Quite.

Wish: I wonder, Cordir, this Tapestry of yours. Can you read the frayed ends yet to be sewn?

Cordir: No.
Cordir: I can.. influence it.. somewhat.
Cordir: But I do not generally do so.

Wish: I am confused

Wish: I shall have to research this Tapestry of yours more.
Wish: For if you can influence it, then it is more than simply a record of events.

Cordir: *sharply* Neither you or Seraph need do so.

Cordir: It is all that is or has been or will yet be
Cordir: the Weave changes based on Choice
Cordir: that is all you need know.
Cordir: I do not read an unchangeable future. I read all possibilities.

Wish: *surprised* My apologies. I had not realized the Tapestry had an owner.

Cordir: a keeper.
Cordir: not an owner

Cordir: .. I apologize. That was more sharp than necessary
Cordir: Seraph has been ... tampering.
Cordir: and seeking to learn how to do yet more.

Wish: Apology accepted. Your reaction to my curiosity implied that you do not wish me to satisfy it.

Cordir: when you asked, in haste and existing irritation - I assumed the worst.

Wish: That is understandable. Even I, as even keel as I claim to be, am not always obvious in my motivations.
Wish: However, in this case, the source of my curiosity is deeper
Wish: I mentioned about reading the frayed ends
Wish: You say it is Choice that determines the Weave

Cordir: The interweaving of all outcomes yes
Cordir: which can be .. influenced or ...
Cordir: *falls quiet a moment*
Cordir: Threads can be tampered with
Cordir: altered.
Cordir: the Weave tangled.
Cordir: it can be cataclysmic.

Wish: By whom?
Wish: The very nature of the Tapestry begs the question.

Cordir: I can. I have.

Wish: If the Weave of the Tapestry is determined by Choice...must not there have been a First Choice that led to each subsequent Weaving?
Wish: And, if the Weave can be altered, might not the First Choice be also altered?

Cordir: for the most part yes.
Cordir: Chance also plays a part it the weaving
Cordir: changing the weave of the past is enormously difficult.....
Cordir: and has profound consequences.

Wish: Is Seraph attempting to alter the Weave that has been, or the Weave that will be?

Cordir: that Will be.
Cordir: and what Is

Wish: Then, based on you descriptions, I have to respectfully disagree with you.
Wish: Seraph is not tampering at all.
Wish: He is simply making Choices which affect the Weave. Are not we all doing the same?

Cordir: He is attempting to alter Threads themselves.
Cordir: which in turn changes what will Be
Cordir: and wishes to learn how to manipulate the threads further
Cordir: of course I refused.

Wish: I believe I understand now.
Wish: I am about to say something.
Wish: You will take offense, I suspect.
Wish: But, friends must be plain with each other...and I do call you friend.
Wish: I perceive that you are possessive of the Tapestry. And more importantly, your power to influence it.
Wish: From my point of view, we are all trying to Change the Weave.
Wish: Seraph is no different.

Cordir: it has been my task for six thousand years.

Cordir: If I took your thread
Cordir: and I ripped from you your tentacles
Cordir: altering your thread to that of an elf
Cordir: would that not be upsetting?

Cordir: Transmutation, in your alchemical terms

Wish: What you speak of is not Transmutation, which is a metamorphosis from one thing to another. The first thing
never ceased to exist.

Cordir: Seraph admitted he would change a soul - a Thread - to that degree, did he feel it right to do so

Wish: What you speak of would not be upsetting in the least.

Cordir: Indeed?

Wish: for if you were to change the Weave of what was, then I would have never have had tentacles to be upset about
losing.
Wish: One may not be upset about losing what one never had.

Cordir: no you misunderstand

Wish: Yes, I must.

Cordir: You would know your loss
Cordir: the Thread does not change back through its course - at least.. not as he is doing it...
Cordir: but from that point in time.
Cordir: think of it as a knot or a splice

Wish: I think I understand the discrepancy in our discussion.

Cordir: the Tapestry is .. at its core. a reality and a metaphor.. so a bit hard to describe

Wish: Yes, but one thing you said I am unclear of

Wish: You said there is a Weave that was. A Weave that is. and a Weave that will be....or something like that.
Wish: Are you so sure of that? From my perspective, there is only a Weave that Was. And a Weave that Will be.

Cordir: there is the moment of Now.

Wish: I am not so sure there is.
Wish: Since each Now is instantly Was
Wish: either that, or we live in an infinite number of Nows.
Wish: and there is neither Was or Will be.
Wish: I do not see how all Three can simultaneously exist.
Wish: Quite a conundrum, do you not think

Cordir: *quietly* Some see a Tapestry. Some see Nash. Some see Oblivion and void.
Cordir: this is where the line between reality and metaphor blurs.

(Log by Samiyah)

On the Dock
[Exits: east south west]
Flopping back and forth, a tadpole seeks the safety of the water.
With its gray and white plumage, this gull blends in with the fog.
Flopping back and forth, a tadpole seeks the safety of the water.
Gasping for breath, this fish flops about helplessly, seeking the water.

Fishing pole in hand, this half-elf hopes for a good catch.
Oar in hand, this half-elf fisherman heads for the pier.
With its gray and white plumage, this gull blends in with the fog.

The corpse of the fisherman turns its head and winks at you.

You shiver. Brrrrrrrrr.
Samiyah takes a steadying breath.
Samiyah closes her eyes.
Samiyah takes another breath.

The Crest of Took Hill
[Exits: north south up]
The sky is cloudy and a cold northern gust blows.
A statue of Bandobras Took stands by a small fountain.

Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

Bandobras Took bends down to tie his shoe, then straightens up again, solid as rock.

You blink.
Samiyah closes her eyes. Breathes.
Samiyah murmurs, 'No weakness.'
Samiyah opens her eyes.

Samiyah leaves up into the Vortex.

Beginning School Classroom

You are in the middle of a large classroom. There are desks with young

The Crest of Took Hill
[Exits: north south up]
You stand on top of Took Hill, named after the legendary Bandobras Took,
the legendary hero who founded Hovelton. There is a fountain standing here,
dedicated to his honor. Looking around from up here you can see the river
flowing off to the west, with the forest beyond, and some small farms to the
north and east. Past the farms to the east, the Eastern Plains fill the
horizon. A small stone path heads down the hill to the north and south. This
would be a very nice, serene place if not for the strange and ominous grey
vortex swirling above.
The sky is cloudy and a cold northern gust blows.
A statue of Bandobras Took stands by a small fountain.

Someone says, 'ouch'.

You say (in common), '.. Seraph?'.

Someone nods.

You smile happily.

You say (in common), 'Hello...'.

Someone says, 'hello'.

You say (in common), 'What made you say that - 'ouch' ?'.

Someone says, 'watching you kill things'.

Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

You say (in common), 'I.. seem to be getting better at it.'.

Someone nods.

Someone says, 'so it seems'.

You say (in common), 'It's all the lyrical, though. Not really me.'.

Someone says, 'why do you check for a weapon'.

You blink.
You say (in common), 'what do you mean? I don't carry one. Well, I have a rapier I keep for disarming, but I don't have to use it very often.'.

Someone says, 'you keep checking for a weapon'.

You wield a finely crafted rapier.
You stop using a finely crafted rapier.

Samiyah's brow furrows as she frowns, looking troubled.
You say (in common), 'I don't know what you mean...'.

Samiyah spreads her hands wide, showing that she carries no weapons sheathed.

Someone says, 'it is fine'.

Someone says, 'so a lyrical helps you do those things!'.

Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

You say (in common), 'Yes! It is the rarest of them all. There are still a few I do not currently have but Pugilistic allows me to fight without weapons.'.

Someone says, 'and the lyrical is part of you?'.

Samiyah sits down on the grass, so that she can keep the statue in line of sight and still be pointed in the direction of your voice.

You say (in common), 'Until my spirit slips flesh, yes. Then, I will forget its song.'.

Someone says, 'then it is you doing it'.

You say (in common), 'I cannot do it without the Lyrical. Perhaps that's a better way to say it'.

You say (in common), 'May I ask you a question about Similus?'.

Someone nods.

You say (in common), 'When you bore it... Did you ever get the sense that it was alive?'.

Someone nods slowly.

You say (in common), 'Do you feel as if your presence, your connection to it, changed it in any way? '.

Someone says, 'my hate brought it to life I feed off of it and it me'.

Samiyah removes the decorative brooches holding her veil in place.
Samiyah unwinds the dark linen folds of fabric that cowl her hair.
Samiyah lifts the last drape that conceals her face.
You stop using an ornamented black linen headdress and veil.
Samiyah runs one hand distractedly through her braids.

You say (in common), 'So... Could you feel it, even when you were not holding it?'.

Someone sits down and thinks deeply.
Someone says, 'why remove your headdress and veil?'.

You say (in common), 'Because there is no need to be wearing it right now.'.

Someone sits down and thinks deeply.

Samiyah looks up, in the direction of your voice. 'Because I choose not to.'

Someone nods.
Someone smiles at you.

You say (in common), 'You have been clear that I cannot believe the truth of any of what I was told as a child.. So I have decided... after much thought.. I am already a very very bad desert girl. I sing, which is forbidden. And I talk to strangers, which is forbidden and I work magic... I sometimes touch people... all of these things - the Elders would punish me for. So if I do not live in terror and fear of them hunting me down to punish me for those..'.

Someone says, 'touch people?'.

You say (in common), 'why should I also abide the other laws.'.

Someone laughs.
Someone says, 'you live how you see fit'.

You say (in common), 'I will choose the laws I live by. And not simply blindly obey theirs. Ever again. And someday... I will go back, and I will tell Elder Salam exactly that.'.

Someone nods.
Someone says, 'I believe you will'.

Samiyah smiles ruefully, 'He will likely grab me by my braids and drag me to the tent of the Teacher...'

You say (in common), 'and I will kick his shins and tell him I know the Teacher's will better than he! But until that day...'.

Someone laughs.

You say (in common), 'I will choose.'.

Someone says, 'when he drags you to the tent I will be there'.

A shiver flows over her.
Samiyah asks quietly, 'And what will You do?'

Someone says, 'whatever I choose to do'.

Samiyah nods.

You say (in common), 'Sahib Wish and I spoke for a time today... He seems to believe that Similus was awakened by my touch.'.

Someone nods.
Someone says, 'perhaps'.

You say (in common), 'I told him that was not true -- it was awake and aware long before me... But he thinks that perhaps.. There is some part of Similus within me now, and some part of me within Similus. Do you think that is possible?'.

Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

Someone says, 'perhaps'.

You say (in common), 'You told me once, that if our souls were entwined, that you would feel all of my thoughts and emotions. Do you?'.

Someone nods.

Samiyah admits quietly, disappointment touching her voice: "I do not feel yours. But I suppose that is as it should be. Mortals should not know such things."

Someone says, 'in time'.

Samiyah smiles mischievously. 'Perhaps I need not bother talking out loud with you any more, if you can pluck the thoughts out of my head.'

Samiyah says slowly, 'I _do_ still feel your wings, from time to time. Though not as much as when I first woke. But I wasn't sure if it was just my imagination, like the other things I see happen, sometimes.'.

Someone says, 'it will come'.

Samiyah smiles faintly. 'I know someone who says that YOU are a figment of my imagination. An old wives tale to scare children. So perhaps I am truly insane, locked up in the infirmary in Nydia, unknowing this is all in my head.'.

A blinding flash occurs. When you can see again, Dimwit is standing before you.

Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

Someone says, 'oh'.

You say (in common), 'Hello, Dimwit'.

Dimwit grins happily.

You say (in common), 'I do not truly think that. But Wish keeps telling me that my mind is broken. It was a poor jest.'.

(long quiet pause)

Samiyah says quietly, 'I know that you exist. I have felt your wings and my eyes yet burn from when you gave me a part of your soul to save my life.'
Samiyah rubs those bloodshot orbs absentmindedly.

You sigh at the long silence.

(Sami leaves and goes about her tasks)

A Peaceful Glade in the Deepwood
[Exits: north east south west]
This shady glade is pleasantly quiet and peaceful. You can hear the
gentle sounds of flowing water to the north and east. You feel
at rest here.
The sky is cloudy and a cold northern gust blows.

Samiyah glances around, remembering Seraph's memories of this place.

Unveiled Part II

(Log by Samiyah)

Altar of S'mierc'
[Exits: south west up]
A clearing has been made here. Several large stones make the circumference of a
circle that encompasses a huge tree stump. This looks to be an altar of sorts.
Away from the circle, leaning against a tree, sits a man. Above the circle is
a very strange phenomenon. It appears to be a swirling grey vortex.
The sky is cloudy and a cold northern gust blows.
A large rock has been carefully placed here.
A huge blood-stained tree stump is centered within the rocks.
Jacek rests against a tree, in deep contemplation.

Someone says, 'I am happy you decided to choose your path'.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

You say (in common), 'I am getting my wings. Slowly.'.

Someone nods.
Someone says, 'I always told you, we were one'.

Samiyah unpins her veil once more, having returned it to its place in your absence.
You stop using an ornamented black linen headdress and veil.

Someone gently touches your cheek with his fingers.

Samiyah closes her eyes at the touch, smiling.
Samiyah dips her head slightly in a bow, acknowledging the blessing.

Someone says, 'such beauty hidden away'.

Seraph has granted you the ability to see him when he is invis.

Samiyah ducks her head slightly, unused to compliments.

> l seraph
If Hell itself had a champion, it would look much like the unholy figure
that towers over you. Dressed from head to toe in black plate armor, the
unrelieved sable continues in the inky wings that arch upward. Weapons,
shield, and armor alike bears the evidence of battle - blood dripping in
a steady stream to pool at his feet. Thick shouldered, bearing the signs
of two gods - Kerriariadne and Katrana - worn still around his wrists, a
clearer picture of violence could not be drawn. His multi-hued hair - an
uninteresting brown at the top, fading to a pale white at the ends - has
been braided back, to stay out of his eyes during combat. His eyes seem
unusually dark, shadowed, until he lifts his head with an evil laugh, an
unopposed view granted of the burned holes that are all that remains. It
is a horrifying sight and he laughs at your discomfort. His crossed arms
draw your eye to the holy symbols still worn around his wrists: That of
Katrana and Kerriariadne - the gods that shaped him the most strongly.
As he returns your stare, you feel a strange tugging in your chest - a
sense of emptiness... as if, by his presence alone, he could steal that
which is most precious - your very essence. With a smirk and a flick of
his fingers, he releases his playful tugging on your spirit... For now.
Seraph is bathed in the essence of charisma.
Seraph is in perfect health.

Seraph is using:
<used as light> (Weak magic) a softly glowing blue gemstone
<worn on finger> (Moderate magic) the Ring of Angelic Council

Samiyah does not say anything, but drinks in the sight of you with her eyes.

Seraph says, 'I am still the beast with no eyes'.
Seraph laughs.

You say (in common), 'You could have four heads and I would not care.'.
You say (in common), 'It is simply good to be able to see You again.'.

Seraph says, 'I know you don't believe it but I will witness the day you fall in love'.

You say (in common), 'No, Sahib, I do not believe it.'.

Samiyah smiles faintly.

Seraph says, 'I do'.
Seraph says, 'and when that day comes I will still watch over you'.

You say (in common), 'And yes - without your helm, your lack of eyes is painful to see, but not because it fills me with fear.. but because it makes me sad.'.

Seraph's head tilts and he looks around.
Seraph hisses: What is he doing?

You say (in common), 'Who?'.

Samiyah glances around, confused.

Seraph says, 'I must go '.

Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

You say (in common), 'of course, Sahib'.

Seraph kisses your forehead then leaps to the sky.
Seraph has removed your ability to see him when he is invis.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

Clarity

(Log by Ghazkull)

You tell Samiyah (in common), 'when you have finished your errand with your brother, may I speak with you?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'of course!'.
Samiyah tells you (in common), 'do you need me in person? or does this work?'.

You tell Samiyah (in common), 'in person would be better, I am in the Temple of the Lost, I have asked permission from DarkClaw for you to enter *smile*'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'it will take me a bit of time but I will be there'.

You tell Samiyah (in common), 'that is fine, I am good at waiting *chuckle*'.

Temple of the Lost
[Exits: west]
It is impossible to track here.
A large eye hovers in mid-air here, emitting a soft, purple glow.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'Soon! '.
Samiyah tells you (in common), 'I have but one bat wing left'.

Samiyah arrives from the west.
Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

You bow deeply.
You say (in elven), 'thank you for coming. I spoke with Darkclaw about a conversation you and she had about your recent offer.'.

Ghazkull chuckles to himself and you think you hear him say 'sit on!?'

Samiyah coughs.
Samiyah says (in common), 'well.. She was worried that you might bring me harm.'.

You nod.
You say (in elven), 'and she was right to be worried, from what I understand, I may find it difficult. However: If I understood your offer correctly, you simply wished to offer me a goblet of your blood?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'The Sayyida seemed to distain that idea.. So I do not know if it will do what you need it to do.'.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I do not feel comfortable being .. chewed on...'.

You say (in elven), 'I spoke with her about that'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'But I would be willing to offer what is needed, through a cup, yes.'.

You say (in elven), 'the... change would be complete.'.

Samiyah asks gravely, 'Are you accepting of that?'

You say (in elven), 'but I would need to feed to fully sate myself. I count you as a friend and would never knowingly, or willingly take what wasn't offered'.

Samiyah flashes a quick smile behind her veil.
Samiyah says (in common), 'I must ask my brother first. I.. my actions of late have been upsetting him'.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'and I had not realized how deeply. He attacked one of the Lost, he felt so frustrated. I do not want to upset Cresom further... so if it is a choice.. '.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'May he enter?'.

You ponder the question.
You say (in elven), 'I don't know that he can'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'he is a great mage, my brother'.

You chuckle.

Samiyah leaves west.
Samiyah arrives from the west.

You hear a distinct pop as Cresom's portal closes up.

Samiyah smiles happily.

Cresom makes a complicated-looking gesture.
Cresom draws a funny looking rune on Samiyah.

Temple of the Lost
[Exits: west]
It is impossible to track here.
A large eye hovers in mid-air here, emitting a soft, purple glow.
(Invis) (Dark Cyan Aura) Cresom is here.
Samiyah is here.

You bow before Cresom.

Cresom bows deeply.

look cresom
There isn't much to notice about this person. His clothes are ill-fitting,
and his face hasn't seen a razor since he left his mother's home. Yet...
something about the grace of the way he uses his hands, and a certain
ancient knowledge in his eyes bespeaks to his understanding of the ways
of magic. It would be easy to underestimate him - and many have, to their
peril. His gaze is steadfast, meeting yours without reservation.
Cresom has a special twinkle in his eye.
Cresom is in perfect health.

Cresom is using:
<used as light> (Moderate magic) (Glowing) a birchwood rod
<worn on finger> (Artifact magic) (Heathen) a simple ring
<worn on finger> (Artifact magic) (Heathen) a Wisdom signet ring
<worn around neck> (Invis) (Moderate magic) a golden medallion
<worn around neck> (Invis) (Moderate magic) a golden medallion
<worn on body> (Moderate magic) a breastplate of hardened leather
<worn on head> (Potent magic) a small striped insect, darting about quickly
<worn on legs> (Powerful magic) a pair of quilted cloth stockings
<worn on feet> (Moderate magic) worn shoes of a philosopher
<worn on hands> (Potent magic) blood drenched gloves
<worn on arms> The Emerald Vambraces

<worn about waist> (Moderate magic) (Bloody) a briar-wrapped length of blue chain

Samiyah smiles fondly at Cresom. 'Anyone would be lucky to have a brother as protective.'

You nod.

Cresom says (in common), 'found this old stuff in the pit '.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I do not expect that Ghazkull will lose control and harm me.'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'If he does.. perhaps you could sit on him?'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'until he comes to his senses'.

You shake your head.
You say (in elven), 'I am not changed yet'.
You say (in elven), 'and I would wait for DarkClaw before attempting any such thing anyway.'.

Samiyah says (in common), '.. Oh. I thought that is why you needed me here.'.
Samiyah looks puzzled.

You shake your head.
You say (in elven), 'I wanted to clarify your offer'.

Cresom snickers softly.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Oh.'.

Cresom hugs Samiyah.

Samiyah blushes, ducking her head and concealing her face in one of the layers of her veil.

Cresom bows deeply.

Samiyah says (in common), 'well, I am not the brightest girl sometimes.'.

Cresom leaves west.

You chuckle.
You say (in elven), 'it is fine, I think I may have been a little misleading'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I am willing to give blood, to aid you in your Becoming.'.

You bow deeply.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Is it a .. a.. rudeness.. to offer it in a cup and not offer my wrist? I do not know the manners of such a thing.'.

You say (in elven), 'that... I'm not entirely sure. I would not expect you to offer your wrist as you stated earlier, you do not like the idea of being 'chewed on.
You smirk.

Samiyah says (in common), 'No, friends do not bite friends.'.

You say (in elven), 'and in all honesty, I currently am not comfortable with 'chewing on' people. Although I am sure
that will change'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'but.. friends help one another.'.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.

Samiyah pauses.
Samiyah says (in common), 'I.. I do not think my spirit will affect my blood'.

You say (in elven), 'I shall speak with Darkclaw when she is next here. She, had some matters of an immortal nature to attend to.'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'but you should know that I was hurt recently, and my spirit is .. is.. different, now. But again -- you would be taking only blood, and not spirit, so..'.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'very well. When your Sayyida is ready.'.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'When you are ready. I stand ready.'.
Samiyah lays a hand across her chest, modestly lowers her eyes, and curtseys.

You say (in elven), 'I will speak with her when she returns'.
You nod.

You bow deeply.
You say (in elven), 'Thank you, Samiyah'.

Samiyah leaves west.

Doing Good

(Log by Samiyah)

Cresom tells you (in common), 'Hello, Sister how are we today.'.

You tell Cresom (in common), 'I am doing well... and you? are you still angry?'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'not angry I don't get angry just don't like when I don't understand.'.

You tell Cresom (in common), '*nods* I am sorry that I am so difficult and troublesome a sister, making you upset and
worry.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'it is ok it will all fix itself I am sure of it everything always works out for me '.

You tell Cresom (in common), '*smile* My paladin brother. You inspire me, you know.'.

Cresom tells you (in common), 'think good and good things happen'.

(Cresom and Sami go on a number of adventures, running here and there, but separate for a bit.)

The Lower Hall
[Exits: north up]
This hallway must have been built by giants! It is huge! Then
again, there are more than a few giants that belong to The Guild, so
it may just be so. A stairway leads up to another hallway above.

(Weak magic) A pair of scale mail sleeves has been left here.
A copy of the TFC Daily News lies here.

You smile at him.
Samiyah brushes back a lock of Cresom's hair as he sleeps.

Cresom wakes and stands up.

You smile happily.

Cresom smiles at you.

You say (in common), 'I hope I didn't wake you'.

Cresom says (in common), 'oh no '.

You say (in common), 'Your hair was in your face'.

Ping-Pong

(Log by Samiyah)

The Gallery of Wisdom
[Exits: west]
You stand in the holy place of Hutt, Lord of Wisdom. It is clear that this
masterpiece of a temple was built upon the foundations of an older Academy.
The lower sections of the walls are ancient timbers, dark with age. The upper
areas and ceiling are newer wood, carefully joined with the old, making a
beautiful blending of modern and ancient. Display cases of glass and oak
alternate with stunning oil paintings and towering book cases. Proud banners
of deep blue and gold drape down from the ceiling, guiding the eye up to where
a mural of Plato covers the surface.
(Blue Aura) A sword lays across the cover of this large golden book.

Cresom tells the group (in common), 'you ok?'.
