nor opulent merchant's office have so many thanks been given as they have
been here. For it is here, if you have the blessings of the gods,
that you have come from either danger, or a perilous long journey.
Zephyr appears suddenly.
Zephyr rests.

Samiyah closes her eyes briefly, her lips moving in a silent prayer.
Samiyah lays her hand upon the bloody surface of the shield.
Cresom looks at Zephyr.
Crimson stains her hand instantly, welling up.
Samiyah shudders as images pour into her mind of the many that the shield has fed upon.

Samiyah spasms, as if in a seizure, as the images of death and bloodshed wash over her.
Samiyah curls up in a ball, screaming in horror.

Samiyah whimpers, 'make it stop!! Seraph, please, make it stop!!'
Zephyr pulls the shield back.
Samiyah collapses to the floor.
Cresom growls.
Zephyr says (in common), ‘I tink she got the chills der boy'.

Cresom says (in common), ‘I thought I smelled something'.
Cresom makes a complicated-looking gesture.
Samiyah shudders as if gripped by a nightmare.
Zephyr tries to wake Samiyah up.
Samiyah screams at the touch, jerking away.

Samiyah lashes out blindly, unseeing, caught up in the visions of death.

Zephyr backs ups grabbing his mace.
DarkClaw emerges from a thick layer of mist as it dissipates and seeps into the ground, a soft whisper filling the area.
Zephyr nods in recognition to DarkClaw.
Samiyah moans, rocking back and forth upon the floor, curled in a fetal position.
DarkClaw looks to Sami almost frantically, her features filled with alarm. "What is happening?!"
Zephyr says (in common), 'she got da chills'.
Zephyr says (in common), 'she touched ma shield'.

DarkClaw says, 'WHAT shield?'.

Samiyah moans softly, mumbling incoherently.

DarkClaw takes one look at the shield and growls, moving closer to Samiyah, but slowly.
Cresom says (in common), ‘I am here just watching over to make sure nothing horrible happens to her body. '.
DarkClaw says softly, "Sami...it's okay, it's just me."
Zephyr says (in common), 'never in my days have I seen da person act like tat'.
Samiyah goes completely limp and unmoving.
Cresom raises an eyebrow.
Cresom growls.
DarkClaw curses beneath her breath and reaches out, touching a hand to Samiyah's shoulder gently.
DarkClaw growls, "Where the hell IS he?!"
Zephyr says (in common), 'where be who?'.
DarkClaw says, 'Some God, not even here to help her when she needs it.'.
DarkClaw spits, "SERAPH!"
Cresom says (in common), 'The person that is causing all this. '.
Zephyr says (in common), 'da ghost?'.
Samiyah groans, her eyes slowly opening at that name.
Samiyah struggles to sit up, wiping away the blood from her mouth where she has bitten her lip.
Zephyr says (in common), 'you are all foolish'.

Samiyah's eyes follow the shield.
Zephyr says (in common), 'it just be a shield da mage make to give people the chills'.

DarkClaw ignores Zephyr and puts herself in line of view between Samiyah and the shield. "Sami...are you okay?"
Samiyah's eyes are not yet quite focused as she attempts to look at the Goddess. "no, Sayyida." The words are slurred.
DarkClaw's voice lowers to a more soothing tone, "What happened? And tell me how you feel."
Samiyah stumbles over the words. ‘I saw it. saw it ... all. All of them.'
DarkClaw growls over her shoulder, "And one of you FIND SERAPH!"
DarkClaw turns back to Sami, "What did you see?"
Zephyr says (in common), ‘I no be looking for a ghost'.
Cresom says (in common), ‘I will go look! Though he lurks in the shadows and very hard to find.'.
Cresom leaves west.
Samiyah looks greenish, her hand going swiftly to her mouth. She crawls over towards one corner, and vomits.
Zephyr says (in common), ‘I be going to get a drink thanks for da coin lass'.
Zephyr leaves west.
DarkClaw rests her hand on Samiyah's back, trying to comfort her, waiting for her to gain her composure enough to talk.
Samiyah finishes retching, her whole body shuddering, then wipes her mouth on a bit of linen.
Samiyah glances over at DarkClaw with embarrassment, and rearranges her veil to cover her face once more.
DarkClaw says, 'Better now?'.
Samiyah nods slightly, calling a small fireball to burn away the mess.

DarkClaw smiles and removes her hand before you get a chance to notice. "Tell me what you saw."
Samiyah staggers over to a bench and sits, drawing her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them.

Samiyah shakes her head slightly, as if the movement causes her pain. 'No, Sayyida. It was memory.'

Cresom arrives from the west.

Samiyah glances up as Cresom enters, her face gaunt and her eyes haunted. 'Brother.'
Cresom says (in common), 'Alas I have searched where I thought he might be and he must be in the shadows someplace'.
Cresom says (in common), 'Demon Realm closest to hell I can get.'.
Cresom says (in common), 'Midgaard Graveyard'.
DarkClaw flicks a brief glance toward Cresom in acknowledgement, "Thank you, Cresom."
Cresom bows before DarkClaw.
Cresom says (in common), 'Sister are you safe now?'.
Cresom says (in common), 'The shield is gone. '.
Someone steps out of the shadows.
Someone says, 'you forgot to look here'.
Cresom growls.
Someone looks at Samiyah.
Samiyah looks up at the voice, her expression conveying all she has seen, but says nothing.
DarkClaw growls at the voice of Seraph, "You should've been here long before now."
Someone says, ‘I have been here the whole time'.
Cresom says (in common), 'You stay hidden from me. You know you can't intimidate me like you can Samiyah'.
Someone says, ‘I didn't make her touch it that was her choice'.
DarkClaw says, 'No, but you could've eased her suffering.'.
Samiyah nods slightly. 'Sahib speaks true.'
DarkClaw says, 'You choose not to.'.
Samiyah murmurs, 'The first law. Show no weakness.'
Someone says, 'she choose to touch it she has to pay for her actions'.
DarkClaw says, 'Did she KNOW what would happen when she touched it?'.
DarkClaw says, 'If not, then that's crap, Seraph, and you know it.'.
Someone says, 'why is it'.
Someone says, ‘I didn't order her to do it'.
Someone says, 'she CHOSE to'.
DarkClaw says, 'She CHOSE to because she's fascinated by the fact it was YOURS!'.
Samiyah nods slightly. ‘I did. I wanted to learn.'
Belgarion arrives from the west.
Aoide looks at Samiyah with concern.
Cresom nods in recognition to Aoide.
Belgarion says (in common), 'everyone hanging out in recall?'.
Someone says, 'she paid the old man'.
DarkClaw says, 'Your message is poison, Seraph. She deserves better.'.
Samiyah repeats herself. ‘I did want to. I wanted to learn.'
Someone says, 'how so?'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'am I interrupting?'.
Belgarion says (in common), ‘I can leave if you like?'.
Samiyah snaps her head up for the first time, glaring with passion at Belgarion. 'YES. GO AWAY.'
Aoide says (in common), ‘I don't know, Belgarion. I just got her myself. But it looks… tense'.
Someone voice gets deeper: “I DIDN’T ORDER HER TO DO IT.”
Belgarion shrugs.
DarkClaw sighs and looks back to Sami. "What I'm saying Sami...is that Seraph should've told you what might happen if you did."
Samiyah says softly, 'He told me I would learn of who and what he was. I knew it was a risk.'
Samiyah says softly, ‘I have been considering the risks for days, since I learned about the shield.'
Someone says, 'see, Darkclaw?'.
Aoide leaves west.
You say (in common), 'No one made me do anything. I chose. It hurt. I saw more than I could have imagined... and it was horrible..'.

Tears well up, unheeded in her eyes, but she makes no effort to wipe them away.
Cresom says (in common), ‘I hate even being in the same room as Seraph.'.
DarkClaw hesitates and shakes her head slowly, backing away, then abruptly snarls and disappears.
Cresom makes a complicated-looking gesture.
Cresom draws a funny looking rune on you.
DarkClaw grins and bares her fangs. Tendrils of fog rise from the ground, twisting their way up and around her form to shroud it from view.
Cresom says (in common), 'if you get in danger call me I will be right here'.

Cresom bows deeply.

Someone walks over wrapping one wing around you.
Samiyah closes her eyes and sways slightly, as if near exhaustion.

Someone speaks softly: did you seek what you was looking for.
Samiyah's expression is almost lost and despairing. 'Yes, Seraph.'
Samiyah glances up, eyes searching for an approximation of your face, based on the touch of your wing.
Someone speaks in a soft voice: I did what I had to do. What I was created to do then.
Samiyah says, her tone haunted, ‘I had no idea there were so ... so many...'
Someone lifts you to your feet gently.
Samiyah sways on her feet, but leans into your grip for stability.
Someone says, 'Yes. I killed for hate. I killed for vengeance. But it all was for my lord and Dark'.
Samiyah says, barely above a whisper, 'But you liked it so very much..'

Someone nods slowly.
