'EFFECTIVE LEVEL' EFFECTIVE

Because dual- and triple-classing exists, an "effective" level is
calculated from all of a player's classes, to create an index of
the player's strength. Effective level is calculated by taking the
primary level (whichever is highest) and adding 1/3 (rounding down)
of any others.

This "effective" level is used in many, but not all, facets of the
MUD. Some features operate on your primary level, or the level you
have in a particular class. Experience will teach you which
method is employed on what features.
