On TFC, there are three basic alignments that a player can follow. 
 
When you first start a character, it is UNALIGNED. The unaligned DO NOT 
have any restrictions on who they can help or consort with. 
 
At some point, a character may make the bold step to follow an immortal, 
vowing to be beholden to them through the act of [[worship|WORSHIP]]. At that moment, 
their alignment becomes that of the immortal they chose, with the immortal 
making the commitment binding through the act of [[acceptance|ACCEPTANCE]]. Once accepted, 
the mortal is bound to follow their alignment and orders of their immortal, 
and the mortal should consider the bond as in effect FOR THE REST OF THEIR 
MORTAL LIFE. Only by the permission of the immortal in question, or by the 
expensive intercession of the greater powers described in HELP [[reformation|
REFORMATION]], 
is it possible to break your vow.
