A Wide Trail
[Exits: north south]
You are traveling a wide trail through the Valley of Loth-Llorien. Huge
trees grow all about you, towering over the trail. To the west of the trail
is a huge tree, with a doorway set in its trunk. The trail continues to
the south and opens out into a large glade to the north.
You are within a huge tree. This room fills it completely, the walls arcing
[Exits: down]
Overlooking the Hall of Bards below, this small space has been carved out
from the tree to create a very small shop. The scent of exotic woods and
a strong odor of glue permeates the area. Workbenches are piled high with
works in progress - everything from great concert harps to tiny rattles a
child could easily play. Neat rows of finished work hangs from the walls,
few bits of wood shavings, adjusts his cloak making his family badge
more prominant, and asks how he can assist you. There's something,
though, about the tone of his voice... or perhaps its the glint in his
eyes or the set of his mouth that gives you a touch of pause. But
surely, Master Amati would not allow anyone dishonest to be in his
Baird has had the title of Bard of Loth-Llorien since before the Great
Western Road was built. Every five years he attends the gathering in the
Glade, as the moderator. He has heard the stories of hundreds of journeys,
and the songs of hundreds of hearts. He teaches his craft to those who would
in the circle of the trunk. Numerous stools and benches give the room a cozy
a strong odor of glue permeates the area. Workbenches are piled high with
works in progress - everything from great concert harps to tiny rattles a
child could easily play. Neat rows of finished work hangs from the walls,
all available for sale... for a price.
