Dexterity measures how agile one is.
This is how the races rank in average dexterity:
1- Aarakocra
2- Elves Halflings Sahuagin

Character History:
<basic pre-level-1 history to come - right now this is off the top of my head, + news/timeline information>
Darkfang always wanted to be a Tiger, so as soon as she was eligible she approached Tripper to be able to follow him. He interviewed her, gave her a Tiger quest, and she set out upon it. In the ensuing months, she completed the quest (gathering at least 5 unique items, each from different hometowns of her (South) continent, without using the vortex) at least 3 times, as she had a bad habit of appearing in the realm _just_ after Tripper had left, and as was preyed upon by some of the young hunters of the time, she occasionally lost her collection. She had begun her career as a ranger, however, so ranging and roving all over her homeland was an exciting proposition for her. By the time she met up with the Tiger Lord and was able to turn in her quest collection, she knew the South Continent quite well, and had developed not only a love of exploring on the ground, so to speak, but also an increasing skill set by which she avoided later kills.
Darkfang loved the honor that was intrinsic to the Tigers, and eventually became the Tiger Den Mother (TDM). She spent a lot of time pinned to the floor by Taaut, Tripper's invisible Tiger, who would rummage through her backpack for steaks. She and her good friend Aslan were adopted by Jyslin T'Sarran, the TDM at the time, and the connection still means a great deal to her.
When the Tigers disbanded, Darkfang eventually joined the FoLK (Fellowship of Lore and Knowledge) under Lady Clue. The FoLK were formed after the removal of 'Sentry' followings, but they remained pacifist, nonetheless. DF thrived in the FoLK, sharing her maps, hints, and tips with the other members of the FoLK, and learning a great deal from them, as well. Over her time as a follower of Clue, she became especially close to Bevier, Mistyfier, Fobro, Wolfwood, and Elise.

Trivia:
* Also known as DF, she's been called both Darkfang and DarkFang, and has referred to herself by both. Usually Darkfang.
* The first PK attempt on Darkfang was by Cici, who summoned her while she was having a conversation with Whitehawk (then attendant of Unity).
* Darkfang survived several pre-damage cap attacks by Orgrim, usually with 31 hp remaining.
* The first time Darkfang saw Okk, he was retired, and asking about those who had plague in various hometowns. She didn't realize he wasn't simply an ogre ordained of one of the evil followings, so was very reticent in answering his questions. Speaking with Tyrell later reassured her as to Okk's status, and since then she has grown to consider Okk one of her good friends.
* Because Darkfang was a pacifist, information-gatherer, and explorer, she enjoyed a fairly close relationship with several members of the Chosen of Fate.

Description:
Written by Cordir
Luminous grey eyes meet yours, filledwith an odd, warring combination of
welcome and wariness. The woman before you stands quietly watching, but
in her stillness is the lithe, grace of the mother wolf the instant before
leaping into battle to ward her cubs or pack. Her blonde hair, bleached
from a life spent out of doors in the wild, has unusual lupine streaks of
grey-black in its length, which reaches past her hips in its tight, neat
braid. Short of stature but still giving the impression of strength, she
remains alert even in supposedly 'safe' environs. Her hands, which hover
near both the scabbards of her twin blades and the pouches that hold the
elements needed for her spells, are calloused, but clean. Not the hands
of a highborn lady, they appear capable and dextrous. Here and there, her
face, arms, collarbone and hands are dotted with scars; some are old and
white, others all too crimson and fresh. Garbed in travel worn but neatly
mended, brown leather breeches and tunic and a soft, full-sleeved, open
necked shirt of deep green, she looks like she would blend in well in the
forest she loves. Only the bonds and loyalty that tie her to her pack -
the Tigers - and her adoptive family - House T'Sarran - could make her
leave her beloved woods.
Player Information:
Darkfang was my first character, created shortly after I was introduced to TFC by Tyrell. Her backstory started out relatively simple, but certain people wanted to add to it until it became overly grandiose. Until very late in Darkfang's existance she was played entirely on telnet (or ssh from the university computers) so in order to keep her surviveable (which, eventually, she got to), my typing reflexes actually got pretty quick (especially fl;qua red; or eventually, fl;qua shimmering).
DEX = Dexterity - A rating of your agility.
LUC = Luck - A rating of how random events affect you (for and against).

Just because your stats are at MAX, does not mean you don't need to wear any of the stat. Racial maximums for each stat vary from race to race (see help race<attribute> for racial comparisons) so depending on your stat rating (LOW, BAVG, AVG, AAVG, HIGH or MAX) you will need to adjust the amount of a given stat you wear. As an easy point of reference, all humans at MAX in any stat require 7 for "perfect" (the maximum amount of that stat your character can wear while still gaining bonuses from that stat).
When looking at the help race<attribute> charts, an easy way to figure out how much YOU need to wear is by comparing with humans. Each spot lower than humans will require one more of the stat at MAX, and the inverse for races higher on the chart. Finally, once you've determined how much you would need to wear at MAX, you can work backwards adding on stat points required for each level below MAX you are.
_________________________________

Scores rolled at MAX during character creation *can* be higher than the listed values. I have seen a MAXed stat (specifically luck) drop and still be MAX. LOW is also a range, being anywhere from BAVG-1 to, I would assume (but have not confirmed), 3.
It looks to me like the racial relationships have changed, in some cases fairly drastically (elves ranking 8th in LUC would MAX at 14, not 18, for example).
According to the methods Corri used, the races I have looked at would have the following MAX stats (I assume human baseline is the same):

Hum: STR: 18 INT: 18 WIS: 18 DEX: 18 CON: 18 CHA: 18 LUC: 18
Aar: STR: 16 INT: 19 WIS: 17 DEX: 21 CON: 16 CHA: 18 LUC: 14
Elf: STR: 17 INT: 22 WIS: 17 DEX: 18 CON: 17 CHA: 19 LUC: 14
Gia: STR: 21 INT: 20 WIS: 15 DEX: 16 CON: 18 CHA: 17 LUC: 17
Hel: STR: 17 INT: 21 WIS: 17 DEX: 17 CON: 17 CHA: 16 LUC: 21
Sah: STR: 17 INT: 17 WIS: 19 DEX: 20 CON: 17 CHA: 16 LUC: 16

I can also confirm that at least some of the stat descriptions (BAVG, AVG, etc) are no longer a single point. I have seen BAVG and AVG each remain unchained through 3 trains, and AAVG and HIGH both change to the next stat after only one train was used (the stat was AVG when 3 trains were used and ended up at MAX).

Training Your Stats
(From the TFC For Newbies website, by Nyx)

Trains are used to increase your stats. You will start with a few of them, 2 to 4 depending on your race, and with luck you will occasionally get one when you level. They are uncommon, though, so be careful not to waste them. Prior to level 12, your stats are still shifting of their own accord, so using a train merely effects the potential of that stat. Training after level 11 affects the stat itself, so most people wait until then. That way they don't end up wasting a train on a stat that was going to end up at its maximum anyway. The choice, however, is up to you. You can find out how many trains you have by checking your score and finding the line that looks like this:

You have 2 training sessions remaining.

To use a train you must first find a special mob that is a trainer. If you are under level 5 you can train with the individual who watches over your class’ section of Camp Tolanrael. If you are level 5 or bigger then your best bet is to find the trainer in your hometown. All hometowns have one. They are usually well-traveled and respected members of their society. You know you have found a trainer if you type TRAIN and see something like this:

You have 2 training sessions.
You can train: str int wis dex con chr.

If you type TRAIN and are told “You can’t do that here” then you’ll need to keep looking. If you are having trouble finding the trainer in your hometown, ask for help.

Once you have found a trainer and you are ready to train a stat, all you have to do is type TRAIN , where is the abbreviation for the stat you want to have increased. You cannot train luck or any stats that are already at their maximum.

Alpha female of the Lupine Tiger Pack, Sister to Arianos, and Den Mother,
Player Information:
Darkfang was my first character, created shortly after I was introduced to TFC by Tyrell. Her backstory started out relatively simple, but certain people wanted to add to it until it became overly grandiose. Until very late in Darkfang's existance she was played entirely on telnet (or ssh from the university computers) so in order to keep her surviveable (which, eventually, she got to), my typing reflexes actually got pretty quick (especially fl;qua red; or eventually, fl;qua shimmering).
[ 22] Aslan: FWD: Alright, party's just begun...
Fri Jan 25 02:48:54 2002
To: Cordir Bliss Lins
*curtsey* I would like to (I'm sure, once again) thank, and commend one of
your followers, Bliss. I seem powerless to be able to *DO* anything to
prove my gratitude, other than to post notes. If the occastion arises, I
will make every effort possible to repay the kindness your followers have
shown me. In the meantime, please accept this forward as my token of
appreciation.
==========================================================================
Someone, or something, slapped me with a stupid stick, and I decided to die
this morning. (I dunno, I haven't done it in a while, so I figured I might
as well practice.. *roll*)

Managed to get all of my eq back, and managed to get half of the upper mortal
realm run around like mad dogs on ecstacy... Not the kind of attention I was
looking for, but for a moment there, my stupidity *DID* have an effect on
people.

Alright, I'll eex-nay the cheese. I decided to wander Molotov, ventured a
*WAY* too far, and got killed by a drow soldier. My euphoric 'Mad-xper Aslan'
state is gone, and I'll not venture that way again.

As Fate has determined, this morning was *VERY* lucky, that a friend was
able to convince Lins to perform the CR. I am indepted to them both. I only
hope that someday, I will be able to go full circle, and be able to affect
others in such a positive way others have been able to do for me.

Mostly naive, but trying to learn

Aslan Tsarran-Napei, Fated wife of Talyn

Current Description:
Standing serenely, Aslan looks at you with her soft blue-green eyes. A mystical light seems to follow her, creating a light halo around her golden-red hair. She lights a match, and holds the flame up for your viewing. Upon gazing in the flame, you see the same fair woman, sitting at the base of a large blossoming tree, holding a small elven baby to her breast. To the right of the lady, stands her tall elven husband. Tall and beautiful, Talyn's steady gaze pierces your soul, as he decides whether you are friend or foe. His eyes wander to his wife and child, and a look of overwhelming devotion, tenderness and love fills his face. To her left, stands a beautiful half-elf of incredible grace. A steadfast wolf stands beside Darkfang, and you listen as, Darkfang says (in common), 'At last, we are together' and she smiles at the wolf.
The wolf looks on as two large cats play and vie for Aslan's attention. One, a huge lion, prancing around, shaking it's regal mane, and the other, a tiger, prances about searching for some steaks to fill her belly. The earth seems to shake as both kittens let out thunderous purrs of contentment. The vision blurs. Realizing that a spider's thread has blown in the way of the flame, you search for the thread's keeper. Dark and mysterious, the spider lowers herself and stares at you with her eyes. A quick draft blows the spider and her thread out of view, also burning out the flame. *I am
Aslan Tsarran-Napei, daughter of Jyslin Tsarran, sister of Darkfang Elvenwolf-Tsarran, wife of Talyn Napei, Servant to the Lady Mistress Cordir An'Shalach, Kitten of Tripper the Master of Tigers.*
Aslan is in perfect health.
August, 2002:
The brilliant, haloing light of her aura causes the woman before you to shine like a candle flame in the darkness. Embued with the strength of the Weaver's blessing and Ordainment, she is a study in quiet determination. Her pale blue eyes, the color of Loch Raven's waters at noon, are filled with merriment and welcome... but like the waters, hold depths of character and emotion that are deeply hidden beneath the surface. Still in some ways as innocent as a fawn, she has known the greatest of hurts and losses, teaching her the perseverance of a Weaver. A crown of fiery bright red hair tumbles around her face, giving the appearance of a fey creature of faerie tales or that of a maid waiting an eternity for her knight to return, an impression strengthened by the delicacy and smooth porcelain of her complexion. Though clothed in armor, she gives an impression of courtly grace, sweeping skirts and veils. A woman able to hold her own amidst a field of battle as the intimacy of a storytelling circle, or a kitchen cooking for friends and family, or a sprawled on the floor tussling with a pair of puppies, she is ever growing, ever changing, ever becoming the Wyrm's chosen Avatar.
Character History:
(written for entry into the Chosen of Fate)
My name is Aslan Tsarran. My birth father was an adventurer who was unhappy with what his life in the Realm offered him. I suppose that had my father not been happy, I wouldn't be. By chance, he ventured into thre Spirit Realm, once there, he strove to bring back as much as possible. *fondly remembers* One of his favourite artifacts were The Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis. He loved them for the moral and ethical lessons that may be learned and appreciated. When he returned to this Realm, he decided to marry, and produce heirs for his House. I am, of course, the eldest. Both himself and my birth mother strove to teach the lessons to me and my sister. When my mother died, he isolated himself more and more, until the day that he left. I believe that he got back into the Spirit Realm, and lived the rest of his life there. *sigh*
Ever since my mother died, I have tried to learn from the tales, in remembrance of my late parents. I've gone through my ups and downs, but whats keeps me going is taking care of my sister. I know that it has been harder for her than for myself. I try to show of empathy towards others, just as Lewis' Aslan did. I admire the empathy he showed Digory Kirke, and the amount of grief that he felt for the boy. His willingness to give to others, even if they mightn't accept his help, like the Dwarves, has always left an impression. Thought, I hope to move closer to the extent that he helped Edmund, by sacrificing his life for another, I honestly don't know. I hope to meet someone that I really would sacrifice myself for, for then, I think I could be truely content.
I don't only value empathy, but I also want trust. I try to start with trusting everyone, and if they breech my trust then they have to rebuild my trust in them. I also think that it works the other way around. *ponder* I don't think that that completely says what I mean. Your trust for a person builds, but it doesn't start with no trust. *thinks to herself* Yes, that is what I mean. *smiles nervously* I think that those are some of the values that my adopted mother, Jyslin, saw in me and admired. It was just a couple of weeks ago that she adopted me and my sister, Darkfang. I find it a real comfort to be able to be of some help when I am around. And I also love having a place in the Realm that I belong, if not physically, but in the hearts of others as well. That, I think sums up myself as a person. *passes the story book along to the next person*
Hiya! I had the chance to learn of TFC when I went to University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I volunteered for 'Safewalk' and one of the chicks I frequently saw in the Safewalk office would be playing TFC. So I tried it... And soon loved playing. Playing TFC has given me the chance to meet some really grooving people... (Darkfang, Tyrell, Nicolas, Belsambar, Talyn, Packard, Craige, Garland, Grale) not to mention the grooving people I'll be able to meet in the future ;-) Alrighty all, cheers!

Sah: STR: 17 INT: 17 WIS: 19 DEX: 20 CON: 17 CHA: 16 LUC: 16

It is said that the Tapestry contains all things: all the souls of those who have lived, all of the events that shaped their lives, and all of the places that were the focal point of those events. The Weaver of Fate, Cordir, who maintains the Tapestry, is rumored to have walked the passages of time to draw out those most ancient of places -- the temples of the gods -- to bring them out of obscurity and into the waking memories of those alive today. But not only the stone foundations and towering pillars and portals of these places were brought forth... Over this place, She wrought many a spell, and set into place vigilant guards, that the sanctity of those holy grounds not be marred with the stain of violence. Visitors are invited to explore with respect and with caution.
* The first player to die in the zone was Simalrion, when he was killed by the ghostly figure of the Fellowship's High priestess.
* The first player to complete a mob mastery in the zone was Marian, who killed the ghost of a worshiper of Grimace for mobmastery level 72.
