Binding the Tainted - Part III

This log was created and edited by Katrana. The scene opens in the temple of the Chosen. Take a look at part I and II, to help it make a bit more sense.

Solaron gives you a hunting knife.

Katrana looks to Elae.

Solaron gives you some marigold sand.

Cordir ftells, 'Since when has Myronides been wise?'. [Editor's note: Myronides had tossed Clue into a pool where a restless, evil spirt was bound.]

Solaron ftells, 'Oo, I know I know!'.

Solaron ftells, 'Pick me!'.

Cordir says, 'Solaron.. perhaps it is better if you take more of a lead, than Katrana...'.

Solaron ftells, '*blurts out the answer* Never!'.

Katrana looks to the knife.

Solaron sits down and thinks deeply.

Solaron nods.

Cordir glances at Katrana, then the pool, then back at Katrana.

Solaron pats you on your back.

Myronides ftells, 'bah I'm an elf and immortal what's one more random creature? Besides I really wanted to see what'd happen'.

Cordir says, 'And as Acolyte...'.

Solaron says (in common), 'Hand 'em over.'.

You give a hunting knife to Solaron.

You give some marigold sand to Solaron.

Solaron sits down and thinks deeply.

Solaron nods.

Solaron looks to Elae, then to the pool.

Solaron traces a circle around the pool.

Elae nods encouragingly.

Solaron says (in common), 'Let each person stand at a chosen spot near the pool, with their Chosen Element as an offering. '.

Solaron looks to the gathered Chosen.

Solaron stands in his place, holding a still-smoldering chunk of rock.

Katrana takes a stand near the southern end of the pool.

Katrana holds a poition of flight.

Clue moves to one side and holds a vial of the Dhole's tear.

Aslan walks over to the pool, with a potion of fly balanced between her fingers.

The image of the Nightwatch steps out of the shadows, his cupped hands holding glowing sands.

Cordir nods.

Elae nods encouragingly, and says, 'Place your offerings on the grass around the pool.

Clue puts the vial down in front of her.

Katrana lays her potion near the pool, almost glaring to what lies within.

Solaron releases the chunk of stone. It falls to the ground with a strange, metallic thud.

Aslan leans down, and places the potion of fly by the pool.

Solaron drops a chunk of lava. As it hits the floor, it vanishes in a flash. A thundering voice screams, 'Solaron HAS DESECRATED HOLY GROUND!'

Solaron ftells, 'woo'.

Kain yells (in drow), 'knock knock'.
Cordir yells, 'not right now, we're busy.'.

Clue gives you a black rose.

Cordir turns to Clue, and murmurs, 'The flowers... scatter the petals around the pool.'

Clue gives a black lily to Aslan.

Clue crumbles the orchid and walks the circle, dropping its petals.

Katrana takes the petals off of the flower and places the petals along the pool's radius.

You give the Name of the Triat to Solaron.

Aslan carefully pulls apart the flower and gently tosses the fragments around.

Elae says, 'Someone should pour the blood, then someone else toss in the shackles and the light, and a third or fourth recite the Name.'

Clue gives the shackles to Katrana.

Clue gives the light of a lost soul to Aslan.

A flock of ravens circles overhead, strangely silent.

Clue gets a dark crystal chalice from bag made from Clue hide.

Katrana glances to the ravens.

Aslan looks up at the black birds.

The eerie sound of hounds baying in the distance sends shivers up your spine.

Clue walks to the edge of the pool and pours in the blood.

The water of the pool stirs violently.

Polnevdra rises from the water.

An Incarnation of the Wyld stands triumphantly before you.

You raise your eyebrow.

Polnevdra says, 'You will not succeed.'
Polnevdra says, 'You will fail in your pathetic binding...'
Polnevdra turns to Katrana.

Katrana grins Wyldly.

You say (in common), 'We shall not'.

Polnevdra says, 'And YOU... you will fail in your attempt at Mastery.'

Katrana places the shackles into the pool.

Clue ftells, 'the light, Aslan'.

Polnevdra says, 'I ...'

Aslan places the light of a lost soul in the water, and watches as the light floats down.

Polnevdra screams

Solaron holds the Name of the Triat in his hands.

Katrana snarls at Polnevdra.

Solaron recites the scroll, struggling as he finishes the incantation.

Clue bares her fangs at Polnevdra.

Katrana hisses, "I shall succeed"

Polnevdra's form seems to melt horribly.

Her form shifts to that of a human male shaman...

His form shifts to that of a male Giant, a hand Aflame...

Clue shouts 'Alak-Natha'.

Katrana curtseys to the form.

His form shifts to that of the Wyldess....

Twin gnome shamaness face one another down, across the bloody waters.

Solaron sits down and thinks deeply.

Her form shifts once more, to that of the Drow woman.

Polnevdra says, 'I have been born and died. We have lived a thousand times. Our time is not yet over.'

Polnevdra says, 'I await your failure, Briar Rose.'

You throw back your head and cackle with insane glee!

You say (in common), 'It is never over until I want it to be over'.

The waters rise up in a roar, constrained by the circles around the pool.

The image disappears in a gout of flame.

Elae peeks hesitantly out from behind the willow strands.

Elae says, 'Did it work?'

Solaron nods encouragingly at Elae.

Solaron says (in common), 'It.. it seems to have.'.

You say (in common), 'I believe so...for now'.

Solaron says (in common), 'I have had little dealings with bindings, needless to say. '.

Elae nods slowly.

Elae says softly, 'I didn't like her.'

Katrana turns to the pool, glaring.

Elae glances over at Katrana, troubled.

Solaron nods in recognition to Elae.

Elae retreats into her tree.

Clue comforts the dryad.

Aslan smiles happily.

You say (in common), 'I do not like her either, but...I can relate to her, I think'.

Clue looks from one to the other around the pool.

Cordir says, 'I would rather not tempt the Tainted's bonds that quickly after putting them in place.'.

You nod.

Cordir says, 'Perhaps we could reschedule for next Tuesday?'.

Cordir says, 'Is that acceptable to you both?'.

You say (in common), 'I,...I believe that would be for the best'.

Cordir nods.

Katrana turns to the pool, with a mixed look of emotion across her face.

The Sanctuary of Fate
[Exits: north]
The breathtaking loveliness of a midnight shadowed garden embraces you. The
night sky is filled with stars... no, not stars, but strands of light which
shimmer at the edges of sight. The soft call of unseen birds provides sweet
melody to please the ear and the low hoot of an owl echoes out of the trees.
A thick tangle of web-shrouded briar roses marks the boundaries of the area
and every conceivable variety of flower blooms within, despite the darkness.
Here and there, care has been taken to create gathering places in the glade,
from an intimate nook of soft, thick moss beneath a veiling willow tree, to
a low, gentle dell where a large group could rest in comfort. Each cardinal
point is marked by its own unique archway. Ebon flames beckon within a trio
of them, and the fourth is sealed by an enormous spiderweb. At the heart of
the clearing is a large round seal of orichalcum.
A shallow pool, its waters troubled and crimson-hued, lies here.
A small weaving loom is barely visible amidst the trees.
(Intense Light Cyan Aura) Cordir is here.
(Light Cyan Aura) Solaron is here.
(Light Cyan Aura) Clue is here.
(Light Cyan Aura) Aslan is here.
(Hide) A distressingly large, shiny black spider weaves webs here.

You say (in common), 'perhaps, I should take my leave for tonight as well,
I'm..I'm not feeling like myself'.

Cordir nods.

Cordir says, 'let us allow ..Her.. time to settle down...'.

Cordir says, 'Thank you, Chosen, for assisting with this.'.

You nod.

Cordir says, 'It has been a long road, indeed.'.

You say (in common), 'anytime M'Lady'.

You curtsey to your audience.

Aslan smiles happily.

Katrana quietly gathers her things and slowly walks out, not before she takes a last look at the pool.
