Helati de-Orilig is Chosen

End of the Granite Cavern [Exits: south down]
This is the Last Bore, the tunnel that connected the Plaza to the black caverns of N'Kai. Stong winds howl here, flowing into small holes in the ground. The source of the winds is a mystery - there SHOULDN'T be any wind ... yet it rages like a storm here ...

A Marker Slab has been erected in the center of the room.
The Sigil Draktha floats in the air here, warding the cave below.

Helati appears out of nowhere.

Cordir smiles at Helati.

Helati curtseys gracefully to Cordir.

Cordir says, 'Greetings, Helati.'

Helati says (in common), 'Sorry, I lost link right in the middle'

Cordir says, 'Shall we enter N'Kai, and speak further of your intents?'

Helati nods.

Cave Conjoining N'Kai [Exits: north]
You are below the Sigil Draktha, near N'Kai the Black. You have no escape but to go onward, for the Barrier seals you within here just as forcefully as it does the Spawn. Bones lie scattered about, strewn above a dried pool of blood.

A Message has been scrawled on the bloody floor.

Helati appears out of nowhere.

Cordir smiles quietly at Helati.
Cordir says, 'Pardon me, while I lessen my distractions...'

Helati says (in common), 'Of course...'

Cordir smiles quietly.Cordir says, 'That's better.'

Cordir raises one hand, and a glimmering appears in the air.

The glimmering expands into a silvery web-like Pattern.

The Pattern is breathtaking, all-encompassing, glorious and indescribable...

Or... is it simply a spider web? Or is it somehow both all at once...?

Helati stares in awe.

Tears run down your face, uncontrollably, as you gaze upon its splendor.

Cordir murmurs quietly, 'This is the Pattern, the Tapestry of Fate...'
Cordir murmurs quietly, 'That which was given into my hands by the High Ones, to serve.'
Cordir murmurs quietly, 'We of the Chosen serve Fate, as its servants, its voices, its tools...'
Cordir says, 'I ask you now, Helati... is it your wish to join us?'

Helati says (in common), 'Yes M'Lady, it is'

Cordir nods solemnly.
Cordir gestures, and an enormous spider descends from the Web.

Cordir says, '(dang - afk one sec - cat problem)'

Helati chuckles, evidently amused.

Cordir says, '(sorry about that - I have a geriatric cat with a lot of health problems, and had to attend her)'

Helati smiles happily.
Helati says (in common), 'No trouble at all'

Cordir gestures, and an enormous spider descends from the Web.

The spider steps delicately towards you, eight eyes glowing softly.
The spider pauses a few steps away, and lowers its thorax in a bow.

Cordir gestures at the spider, and says, 'This is the Web Guardian. She Weaves in the Geasa of all the Chosen into the Pattern.'

The spider turns and looks at you intently.
You hear a voice in your mind:
*Speak now, those Geasa you would bind yourself with.*
*Speak now, and let them be Witnessed*

Helati says (in common), 'I will always be visable to those in the Guild and Temple areas.'

Cordir nods.

Helati says (in common), 'I will never use cant'

Cordir nods.

Helati says (in common), 'I will always offer my assistance to at least one newbie as soon as I log on.'

Helati smiles happily.

Cordir nods.

The spider tilts its head, considering.
*Visible. Yes. For what purpose, within the Guild and Holy Land?*

l helati
Before you stands a powerful, smaller than normal minotaur.
Her eyes cut through you, as if on fire. She speaks with a throaty, caressing quality in her voice. Her thick black hair is plaited halfway down her back. She moves with an incongruous lightness much as a lioness stalks her prey. At first glance, she seems harmless. But something inside you makes you think otherwise.
Helati is in perfect health.

Helati says (in common), 'To allow those who may need assistance the ability to see me. For instance, newbies.'

The spider tilts its head, considering.
The spider turns and looks over at Cordir.

Cordir nods.

The spider dips its thorax in a bow.

Cordir gestures, and the spider slowly creeps over to the web, climbs up its silken strands, and begins to Weave.

Cordir smiles at Helati.

Helati smiles happily.

Cordir says, 'The choosing of Geasa is a very important part of the requirements for entry...'
Cordir says, 'But not the only one...'
Cordir says, 'Will you give your sworn word that you have served for a year and a day?'

Helati says (in common), 'I will'

Cordir says, 'Have you explored at least eight of the racial cities of the Northern Continent, and brought tokens of each?'

Helati says (in common), 'I have'

Cordir nods.
Cordir says, 'I have received your tale of your life... and found it pleasing...'
Cordir says, 'And you more than meet the level requirement...'
Cordir says, 'I ask you again... is it still your wish to join the Chosen?'

Helati says (in common), 'It is.'

Cordir nods solemnly.
Cordir says, 'Giving your life in service to Fate is a decision that will change your life...'
Cordir says, 'It binds you in service to Me, to your fellows, and, indeed, to all the Realm.'

Helati nods.

Cordir says, 'I Choose for life...'
Cordir says, 'And I do not Choose often.'
Cordir says, 'One last time... I ask.... do you wish to pledge to the Chosen?'

Helati says (in common), 'I do, M'Lady'

Cordir smiles quietly, but radiantly.
Cordir nods.
Cordir says, 'Then kneel, and give me your hands.'

Helati kneels before you, giving you her hands.

Cordir meets your eyes and smiles, taking your hands between her own.
Cordir says, 'Do you, Helati, swear that you will serve Me with honor and conviction, all of your days?'

Helati says (in common), 'I swear it'

Cordir says, 'Do you, Helati, swear that you will never withhold aid from any who are deserving?'

Helati says (in common), 'I swear it'

Cordir says, 'Do you, Helati, swear that you will act as a servant of Fate in all things?'

Helati says (in common), 'I swear it'

Cordir smiles at Helati.
Cordir says, 'Then give me your Oath. '

Helati bows her head and utters a quiet prayer.

Helati now worships Cordir!
Cordir has accepted Helati into her following!

Cordir smiles at Helati.
Cordir ftells, 'Welcome, Helati, to the Chosen...'

Helati smiles at Cordir.

Cordir gets a fine silver dagger from a sheath at her waist.

Helati ftells, 'Thank you for having me! ;)'

Cordir pricks the flesh of her wrist, drawing blood.
Cordir gets a black quill from a bag of dragon hide.
Cordir dips the quill in the blood pooled upon her wrist.
Cordir says, 'Hold out your hand, please.'

Helati holds out her right hand.

Cordir swiftly tattoos the Covenant of the Chosen upon your palm, drawn in her blood.

Cordir creates (Tattooed) (Writhing) The Covenant of the Chosen out of thin air!
Cordir gives (Tattooed) (Writhing) The Covenant of the Chosen to Helati.

Helati stops using the Brooch of Loth-Llorien.
Helati wears (Tattooed) (Writhing) The Covenant of the Chosen as a decoration.

Cordir says, 'As you grow and change, so will this Covenant.'

Cordir smiles quietly.
Cordir says, 'It's time to bring you home, Helati'

Helati nods in recognition to Cordir.

Cordir lifts her hand, making a deft gesture of summoning.
A glimmering light appears, which expands into a shining web-like Pattern.
Cordir steps through the Pattern Web, disappearing from the chamber.
The Pattern fades into motes of light which scatter about the chamber.

Within The Tapestry of Fate [Exits: north]
Stepping through the spider-web, you find yourself standing beneath countless stars... no, not stars, but strands of light, their incandescent glow pushing back the darkness that would otherwise overcome you.

You stand on a circular cathedra of dusky marble striated with silvery gray. Four titanic, equidistantly spaced archways of albescent jade yearn upward towards the lights above you. Sable fires seethe within three of them, a spider-web filling the fourth. In the center of the rostrum stands an intricately carved wooden loom. It is cool here, like the first misty chill of twilight, and you shiver slightly, hair prickling on the back of your neck as you realize: Perhaps this is no place for a mortal to be.

The Loom of the Weaver is here, coruscating with an unearthly radiance.

c sum helati
Helati arrives suddenly.

Cordir smiles quietly.
Cordir says, 'Again, welcome!'
Cordir says, 'I am sorry more of my folk are not here to welcome you.'

Helati says (in common), 'Thank you'
Helati shakes her head.

Cordir says, 'I would ask three things of you...'

Helati says (in common), 'Your welcome is enough'
Helati smiles happily.

Cordir says, 'First, that you make yourself familiar with the items on the Board List'

Helati nods.

Cordir says, 'Second, that you put 'Fate' in your title somewhere...'
Cordir says, 'While there are titles I enjoy use of, they are not mandatory.'

Helati nods.

Cordir says, 'I shall send you, via messenger, a few bits of information that are most easily relayed off-Realm.'

Helati drinks water from a canteen.

Cordir says, 'And lastly....'

Cordir says, 'That you send me a list of what you're wearing, so that I can improve upon it if possible.'

Cordir blushes.

Helati giggles.

Cordir says, 'I'm terribly vain, you see...'
Cordir says, 'And don't like my folk to be wearing shoddy equipment.'

Cordir smiles mischievously.

Helati says (in common), 'Of course… Although I fear you will be disappointed in my equipment'

Cordir chuckles softly. Cordir says, 'It is often thus. Fear not... we'll fix that.'

Cordir smiles at Helati.

Helati says (in common), 'Thank you M'Lady'
Helati says (in common), 'May I ask a giant favor of thee?'

Cordir nods. Cordir says, 'Of course'

Helati blushes.

Cordir says, 'Helati, as you serve me, so do I serve you.'

Helati says (in common), 'Well, you see...When I was a poor little heifer, I always dreamed of being...'
Helati says (in common), 'Well, of being a princess...'
Helati blushes.

Cordir chuckles softly and nods, listening.

Helati says (in common), 'I was hoping that I could be your princess of Fate, if it is not to much to ask of you'

Helati blushes.

Cordir pauses and considers a moment, then says, 'While I am not adverse whatsoever at giving out special titles... I believe they should be earned...'

Helati says (in common), 'Of course'

Cordir says, 'I would certainly consider this....But I cannot give you an answer right now. Is that fair?'

Helati says (in common), 'I understand, and thank you for even considering this request' Helati smiles happily.

Cordir smiles quietly. She says, 'Certainly. Titles help to give folk a sense of place within the Order.'

Helati nods.

Cordir says, 'I have a Dragonslayer, an Apprentice... a Shadow... a Journeyman...a Monastic priest...' Cordir smiles quietly. She says, 'They speak much of who we are, and who we strive to me.'

Cordir says, 'pardon, to be.'

Helati says (in common), 'It is a silly request, I understand' Helati laughs.

Cordir shakes her head, and says, 'Nay...It is an admirable goal to seek to be worthy of 'princess'. A princess is a role model. of the Chosen should be such. A princess is known for beauty, kindness, charity... All admirable qualities...'

Helati says (in common), 'I hope to be so in your eyes'
