[Notes: This scene occurred after one of Deamhan's many absences. While it was not a formal 'fateful hour,' it was one of the free-form RP events that were a precursor to the more structured Hours. It gives some background into Cordir & Deamhan's relationship, the curse that lay upon Mireya, and Cordir's irrational hatred of the Demon Realm.]

It is 2am on Searynx the 21st, the month of the Deities' Wrath, in the year 2400.
TFC started up at Tue Mar 14 20:34:45 2000 / The system time is Tue Mar 14 21:01:58 2000

Within The Tapestry of Fate
[Exits: north up]
Stepping through the spider-web, you find yourself standing beneath countless
stars... no, not stars, but strands of light, their incandescent glow pushing
back the darkness that would otherwise overcome you.
You stand on a circular cathedra of dusky marble striated with silvery
gray. Four titanic, equidistantly spaced archways of albescent jade yearn
upward towards the lights above you. Sable fires seethe within three of
them, a spider-web filling the fourth. In the center of the rostrum stands an
intricately carved wooden loom. It is cool here, like the first misty chill of
twilight, and you shiver slightly, hair prickling on the back of your neck as
you realize: Perhaps this is no place for a mortal to be.
The Loom of the Weaver is here, coruscating with an unearthly radiance.
(Invis) (Purple Aura) Talmud is resting here.
(Purple Aura) Gregar is here.
(Purple Aura) Deamhan is here.
(Purple Aura) Boromir is here.
(Purple Aura) Durin is resting here.

Deamhan rests.

Cordir says, 'To begin... I assume all of you know that Deamhan is my husband...?'.

Deamhan snickers softly.
Deamhan gasps in astonishment.
Deamhan says (in common), 'I'm your WHAT?'.

Talmud chuckles, evidently amused.
Talmud nods.

Cordir rolls her eyes at Deamhan.

Talmud snickers with Deamhan about their shared secret.

Boromir checks his notes. Boromir nods in agreement.

Deamhan smiles brightly at his...wife...?

Cordir says, 'You're that scraggly, scruffy half-elf I shacked up with.'.
She pokes him in the ribs.

Boromir rolls his eyes.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Oh that one, right'.
Deamhan nods at himself; he must be getting senile.

Cordir says, 'However... on a more serious note...'.
Cordir says, 'When he and I were wed... '.

Boromir casts 'couth' on Deamhan.

Gregar says (in common), 'you leveled, Deamhan!'.
Gregar applauds Deamhan's actions.

Boromir smirks.

Cordir says, 'There was... a ... protest... that I heard, whispered in the Pattern. Someone took notice of our Oaths to each other... and objected...'.

Talmud raises an eyebrow at Cordir.

Boromir casts 'max couth' on Gregar

Cordir says, 'To understand more about that, I think you need to know more about Deamhan...'.

Cordir says, 'So... I turn the cathedra over to him.'.

Deamhan smiles happily.

Boromir gets comfortable.

Cordir smiles quietly at her husband, and seats herself.
Cordir adjusts her skirts so that her limbs are covered.

Deamhan says (in common), 'First...I'd ask that everyone refrain from spells, except for detects'.

Boromir nods.

Deamhan says (in common), 'And second, I'm going to make a bunch of shrooms, because I don't intend to be hungry'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and you don't have to be either'. Deamhan grins neutrally.

[Deamhan makes several dozen mushrooms, several of which are stuffed by Gregar into various bags for safekeeping and munching later.]

Deamhan says (in common), 'after that, on to the story'.

Boromir hears a refrain of oink oink from Gregar's corner of the room.

Durin snickers with Boromir about their shared secret.

Gregar says (in common), 'sorry I stock up when i get the chance'.
Gregar says (in common), 'I frequently starve for lack of food'.

Gregar jitters with excitement.

Deamhan says (in common), 'ok, close enough'.

Boromir chills out.

Gregar rests.
Boromir rests.

Deamhan smiles happily.

Cordir ftells, 'I recommend you turn off all channels.'.
Cordir ftells, 'its going to be a noisy night, I believe.'.

Trevor has entered the game.

Deamhan says (in common), 'You all know that I am a vampire...hello, Trevor'.

Deamhan smiles slightly.
The fangs are obvious.

Deamhan says (in common), 'I was born a long, long long long time ago'.

Boromir counts the longs.

Deamhan says (in common), 'rather before birth records were kept, I think is the phrase'.

Deamhan grins neutrally.

Deamhan says (in common), 'in the Half-Elf Camp on the northern continent. I had a twin brother. His name was Diabhail, and he has not been seen by anyone for a very long time. Not quite as many 'longs' as since I was born...but close'.

Boromir grins neutrally.

Khorlan ftells, 'I'm back :)'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Jacek raised us, because we did not know who our parents were'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Shortly after our eighteenth birthday, we heard of Lord Khore'.

Within The Tapestry of Fate [Exits: north up]
The Loom of the Weaver is here, coruscating with an unearthly radiance.
(Purple Aura) Trevor is here.
(Purple Aura) Talmud is resting here.
(Purple Aura) Gregar is resting here.
(Purple Aura) Deamhan is here.
(Purple Aura) Boromir is resting here.
(Purple Aura) Durin is resting here.

Deamhan says (in common), 'We spoke to him and were attracted to the honor he represented'.

The spider-web opens.
Khorlan arrives from the north.
Khorlan closes the spider-web.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Welcome...you came just in time to hear about people getting bit'.

Serenity ftells, 'Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease tell me i am not too late!'.
Serenity ftells, ':)'.
Talmud ftells, '*smile* Hello Serenity'.
Boromir ftells, 'ok youre not '.

Deamhan moves to the great Loom and rests his hands on it for a moment, eyes closed.

Serenity ftells, '*laugh* Should i report to the temple as quickly as possible?'.
Cordir ftells, 'yes'.

The Loom, and the Pattern on Deamhan's skin, begin to glow slightly.

Serenity arrives from the north.
Serenity flies in, feathers landing everywhere.
Durin closes the spider-web.
Serenity grins sheepishly, despite the beak.
Serenity rests.
Serenity says (in common), 'my apologies'.

A small globe of light rises from the Loom, and comes to settle among you all.

Looking into it, you see...
A dark, powerful figure waits in a clearing.
Two young men approach, clearly nervous and trying to hide it.
The figure rumbles, "You know that this cannot be undone."
"Are you ready to loosen your embrace on life?"
The two young men nod, one more firmly than the other.
One says, 'We will learn, and hunt, and grow.'
The dark figure nods, and says, 'Then I Embrace you, kindred.'
He comes to stand first behind one, then the other.
A bite, a Kiss.... each of the young men crumples to the ground.

Deamhan removes his hands slowly from the Loom, and the light fades.

Deamhan says (in common), 'We rose the next night'.
Deamhan says (in common), 'For those who don't know it, the Thirst is not explicable'.
Deamhan says (in common), 'Perhaps some of you will get an idea, if you consent to Dalmiera...'.
Deamhan grins neutrally.

Boromir shivers.

Gregar chuckles, evidently amused. He nods in recognition to Deamhan.

Serenity cocks her head to the side, in thought. She nods.

Deamhan says (in common), 'We were Hunters among Khore's Kindred for several centuries. We were never among the ranks of the great, but we gave thanks many times to those who gave us their sacred blood. One night, Lord Khore and the other Kindred assembled with us to learn of our parentage, for Khore had decided that it was time we know'.

Boromir raises an eyebrow.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and this is the seed of the reason I am telling you all this tale tonight. For our mother was Magda, a woman of the camp'.

Talmud seems to raise a brow.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and our father, Lord Vil'.

Gregar raises an eyebrow.

Talmud moves noticeably.

Serenity nods.

Deamhan says (in common), 'of the demon Realm'.

A tingling settles over you, as if that name summoned attention.

Talmud nods.

Serenity says (in common), 'my goodness'.

Deamhan raises his head and looks outward.

Gregar seems surprised at the mention of Magda's name.

Talmud tilts his head toward Deamhan, in increasing interest.

Serenity beams a smile at Deamhan.

Deamhan murmurs a small benediction, and gestures in a warding pattern.

The tingling fades, as if the attention moved elsewhere.

Deamhan bows his head a moment.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Not long after that, my brother disappeared. I do not know how or where or why, but I know who I suspect'.

Cordir nods silently.

Serenity sits down and thinks deeply.

Deamhan says (in common), 'I don't know if he took Diabhail by force, or seduced him into wanting to go, but that was the first time he took notice of his offspring'.

[Khorlan departs.]

Deamhan says (in common), 'Mother had hidden us from him before that - Jacek knew who we were, but no one can make Jacek tell a secret, and Mother was...as she is today, unable to speak, half mad. Perhaps Vil was not interested in harming me at the time. Perhaps Jacek, or Lord Khore and the guardian vampire Bezil, protected me'.

Boromir shivers uncomfortably.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Whatever the truth, I grew and prospered, and eventually chose to turn my path to a more peaceful one within the Kindred'.

Trevor smiles gently.

Deamhan says (in common), 'The pleasures of the Hunt, though still powerful, were...not the same, without my brother'.

Gregar thinks briefly of an encounter with Dalmiera's glistening fangs.
Gregar nods in recognition to Deamhan.

Boromir shivers uncomfortably.

For an instant only, you feel a powerful thirst for prey.

Trevor shivers uncomfortably.
Talmud shakes his head clear.

You dream of quick, silent movement through the woods, following something...

Gregar barely noticeable licks his lips.

Something that doesn't know you're there...

Boromir remembers the past ..when the hunt was his to enjoy.

Something that knows you are there, and fears...

Then it passes, leaving you relieved.

Boromir sighs loudly.
Trevor faints, falling into a heap on the ground.
Serenity winces. Ouch!
Trevor stands up.

Deamhan says (in common), 'One day in Harper's, I met a witch'.

Deamhan grins neutrally at Cordir.

Cordir colors slightly in a blush.

Deamhan says (in common), 'She was young and pretty, then...'.

Serenity grins neutrally.

Deamhan grins extra-wickedly at his wife.

Gregar steps away from the rift zone.

Cordir bows her head.

Serenity says (in common), 'then?'.
Serenity hushes now.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Oh, she's just pretty now'.
Deamhan kisses his wife.

Serenity hides her head under her wing.

Talmud seems to smile barely.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Like cheese. Better with age. You know'.
Deamhan smiles brightly, walking merrily into danger.

Talmud says (in common), 'I'd think wine'd be a better comparison, but'.
Talmud shrugs.

Boromir rolls his eyes.
Trevor snickers softly.
Deamhan snickers softly.

Cordir affixes her husband with a patented steely glare.

Deamhan ducks.

Deamhan says (in common), 'She, er, washed my face'.

Serenity giggles. Serenity laughs.

Deamhan coughs. Deamhan clears his throat.

Trevor runs to a far corner.

Cordir says, 'You were filthy.'.

Boromir never considered a cheese in that light.

Deamhan says (in common), 'It, er, sort of needed it'.

Cordir says softly, 'And I thought you the most handsome creature I'd ever laid eyes on... and still do.'

Deamhan says (in common), 'Anyway...we'd spoken before, but that was when the wicked witch started flirting with me'.

Serenity snickers softly.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and it all went downhill from there'.

Boromir smirks.

Deamhan smiles at his lady.

Trevor stays hidden in his far corner.

Deamhan chuckles, evidently amused.

Gregar desperately tries to hide a knowing smile.
Boromir chuckles and says nothing.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Eventually Lord Khore attained a higher level of enlightenment'.

Cordir self-consciously plays with her damp hair.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and was no longer able to spare attention to followers'.

Deamhan smiles at Cordir.

Cordir blushes.

Boromir nods ... and smiles a sad smile.

Cordir coughs, covering a blush.

Deamhan says (in common), 'It was...difficult'.

Gregar says (in aarakocran), 'I can only imagine'.

Serenity nods and says (in common), 'indeed'.

Trevor raises an eyebrow.

Deamhan says (in common), 'The Kindred were close'.

Gregar says (in common), 'if Cordir left, I would certainly be lost without her guidance'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Lord Khore and Jacek were far more fathers to me than Vil ever was and with one gone, I was lost for a long while. Though there was one bright spot... Cordir and I had been unable to wed, for Lord Khore walked the red road, and Cordir at the time followed Lord Gryphon'.

Serenity sighs loudly. Serenity smiles happily.

Tripper says, 'Knock, Knock'.
Tripper steps out of a dark corner as if he was always there.

Gregar hugs Tripper.
Boromir bows before Tripper.
Talmud bows before Tripper.
Deamhan bows before Tripper.
Trevor bows before Tripper.
Talmud chuckles, evidently amused.

Tripper bows to the audience.

Serenity says (in common), 'Greetings Tripper'.
Tripper smiles happily.
Tripper says, 'Greetings all, don't let me interrupt'.
Serenity curtseys gracefully to Tripper.
Serenity rests.

Deamhan says (in common), 'My love had quested to marry me'.

Tripper settles in comfortable in a corner.

Lorna appears before you, ready to judge your soul and flip a coin to see if you should live.

Deamhan says (in common), 'but part of the quest, set by Khore, was to slay one of the mighty of Sanguinna'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and he instead slew her. Cordir was with child at the time...'.

Cordir murmurs, 'The three brothers.'

Deamhan nods in recognition to her and says (in common), 'The child, though still hardly developed, was traumatized'.

Boromir winces. Ouch!

Serenity nods slowly.

Boromir shakes his head.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and the Lady - still mortal, but beginning to feel the stirrings of the Weaver -'.

Cordir subconsciously lays her arms protectively over her stomach, remembering.

Gregar closes his eyes slightly in a gesture of sympathy and understanding.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and I did a Weaving, one of our first, to protect our daughter'.

Deamhan takes his wife's hand.

Deamhan says (in common), 'The Weaving did not take away Mireya's unborn memories'.

Cordir trembles slightly, Her eyes flooding with remembered sorrow.

Deamhan says (in common), 'It merely delayed them'.

Boromir nods slightly.

You see in your mind's eye a glowing argentine thread, marred by a knot of tangled ugliness.

Hands slowly push the tangled mass along the thread, farther from its origin.

Deamhan says (in common), 'My...Lord Vil chose another time to intervene. He tried to force the memories on Mireya early, before she was able to understand what they were, before she had had time to grow with the comforting love of two parents, into someone who could face those memories. I was...taken from the Realm, protecting her'.

Cordir's shoulders tremble, holding back tears.

Deamhan says (in common), 'standing between her, her memories and my ... Vil's efforts to harm our daughter'.

Deamhan squeezes Cordir's hand.

Cordir whispers, 'Pattern-bound.'

Deamhan says (in common), 'Though my love knew I was not 'dead,' I was not 'here' either'.

Cordir nods.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and she and Mireya had to do many years without me. Finally, when Mireya was old enough, I was returned'.

Deamhan looks down at Cordir and smiles at her.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and she grew, healthy, to young adulthood. Some of you have met her'.

Nicademus glides in for a closer look.

Serenity nods.

Talmud seems to smile inside the darkness of the cowl.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Though she is not often with us these days, as she has her parents' wandering feet'.

Boromir nods.
Serenity smiles happily.
Cordir nods.
Boromir chuckles, evidently amused.
Serenity nods in complete understanding.

Cordir says, 'The Triat call her elsewhere, as well....'.

Deamhan nods and says (in common), 'They do, but we know little of Their reasons for the present'.

Cordir seems to grumble silently at this.

Deamhan chuckles, evidently amused.

Gregar smirks.

Deamhan thinks his wife ought to get stern with her Avatar sometimes.
Deamhan grins neutrally.

Cordir chuckles softly.

Deamhan says (in common), 'but Vil was not finished with us yet. I don't know why he hates us...me...so. It seems simplistic to say "because he's a demon and demons are evil". _I_ am half-demon, as was my brother, and our uncle Nameless'.

He shrugs and says (in common), 'Perhaps someday we will find out...'.

Gregar grins at his own evil thoughts, then realizes the significance of them.

Deamhan says (in common), 'any road, Cordir and I had another long period of happiness together, though we were still unwed. And then I was Pattern-bound again, this time with Vil acting more directly against me than ever before...'.

Deamhan realizes he has clenched his hand too hard around Cordir's, and makes it relax.

Deamhan says (in common), 'He...took me somewhere'.

Cordir shivers, and strokes Deamhan's hand with her free one.

Searing heat... thirst, such as you have never felt before.

Your skin is dry. Your lips are dry. You long for water with all your soul.

No... that's not quite right. You long for blood.

Boromir shivers uncomfortably.

You can smell the scent of it, everywhere.

Serenity blinks.

Boromir steps back into the shadows.

It fills your mind, reminding you of Hunts past.

Lorna vanishes amidst a puff of smoke, her laughter echoing around you.

It tingles over your skin, making you want until there is no other thought in your mind.

Talmud's body shakes, his gaze visibly set on the Wyrm's flame.

No other thing in your being, but the thirst for another's blood.

Given willingly or taken by force, nothing matters, but that you taste it.

Gregar tries to relax his mind, thoughts turning from the wyld.

Nicademus spontaneously combusts leaving only a handful of feathers!

Deamhan makes a calming gesture, and the vision releases you.

Talmud bows his head gratefully.
Serenity smiles, weakly.
Boromir remembers a bloody night and says nothing.

Deamhan nods in recognition to Boromir.

Gregar's breathing slows slightly still somewhat shaken.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Imagine this, not for the moments you have felt it, but for more time than you can count'.

Serenity winces. Ouch!

Deamhan says (in common), 'And tell me that you would have kept your soul...'.

Gregar shakes his head.
Gregar says (in common), 'I long for it even now'.
Gregar says (in common), 'it calls'.

Deamhan once more forces his hand to relax on Cordir's.

Serenity says (in common), 'by the gods, i do not know.'.

A soft glow spreads upon Cordir's skin - her Pattern - flowing.
The glow seems to spread to Deamhan's hand, where he holds hers.

Deamhan breathes more easily.

Deamhan says (in common), 'There came a night. A village. I...thought I was released. No. That is not true. I did not think at all. Vil...left me in front of a shepherd'.

Deamhan smiles, with no humor.
You see the look of the hunter on his face. His fangs are sharp.

Deamhan says (in common), 'The shepherd died. As did his family. As did every other family in that village'.
Deamhan says (in common), 'Every'.
Deamhan says (in common), 'single'.
Deamhan says (in common), 'one'.

Talmud's face seemingly darkens.
Trevor shudders from the sheer thought of it.
Serenity lowers her head.

Deamhan bows his head.

Boromir says nothing ...

Deamhan says (in common), 'I...there was a little girl'.

Gregar throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!
Gregar suddenly realizes his mistake and slaps himself.

Cordir murmurs softly, as if quoting, 'But you did not feed alone...'

Deamhan nods in recognition to Cordir.

Deamhan says (in common), 'The girl was the only one who saw me...saw her death. The others slept. It was not a Hunt to be proud of. Merely an animal, released upon helpless sheep. I fed and fed and fed. And only when I had finished, only when I came to myself and realized exactly what I had done, only then, did Vil claim me again. He taunted me with the memories and the scent of their blood. And to my shame, I thirsted for more even as I knew what I had done. I thought he was going to keep me for another age. I...despaired'.

Deamhan looks at his wife for a long moment.
Deamhan says (in common), 'I live only because of her'.

[Trevor departs]

Cordir holds Deamhan's gaze with her own for a long moment.

Deamhan says (in common), 'My love, and one of the bats in my sanctuary - who I should say are...not quite ordinary bats'.

Deamhan grins neutrally.

Cordir nods.

Deamhan says (in common), 'This one was named Quick-of-Eye, and he was our friend'.

Cordir says, 'Quick-of-Eye is a hero to me. '.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Together, he and Cordir found me'.

Cordir says, 'It sometimes seems as if his spirit flies in my garden.'.
She smiles quietly.'It was more than I, and a bat, love. It was the Three.'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'They took me from Vil, but they did more even than that'.

Deamhan nods in recognition to Cordir.
Deamhan says (in common), 'the Three acting through you. This part is more the Lady's tale, as I hardly remember it... but the Wyrm appeared in the avatar of our daughter's form, and the Wyld, in the form of Lord Khore, though not him in truth. The...thing that they had wrested from Vil was an animal with a bloodthirst nothing could ever sate'.

You see a bowed figure. With a shock, you recognize it as Deamhan.

His stance is not that of the aware Hunter, but of the desperate animal.

A Pattern glows dimly on his skin.

But it, like the other, is warped by sickly threads.

Deamhan says (in common), 'The spell that Lord Vil had woven was one he thought unbreakable, for it required the willingly given death of a loved one to break'.

Cordir says, 'Needless to say, he wouldn't let me.'.

Deamhan chuckles, evidently amused.

Deamhan says (in common), 'I was...averse to the idea of returning to the world, only to lose my beloved, yes. But Quick-of-Eye was willing, and insisted that we allow him his choice. So the counterspell was woven, and I was made whole again, with Quick-of-Eye's death'.

Cordir says softly, 'That is why there remains the ashes of a pyre in my garden.'

Deamhan nods in recognition to Cordir.
Gregar winces. Ouch!

Deamhan says (in common), 'The rest, you mostly know. Cordir and I were able to wed. Lord Thaygar presided at the rites'.

Gregar says (in common), 'the ebon hand?'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'There is only the remaining detail that Lord Vil yet lives and is doubtless annoyed that I do too...'.

Durin says (in common), 'good, annoy him further'. Durin grins neutrally.

Deamhan chuckles, evidently amused.
Deamhan says (in common), 'Very shortly before the wedding, we received warning - both from Cordir's sensing of the Pattern, and from an old friend of the Ebon Hand -'.

Cordir says, 'Thayren, Thaygar and Siren's son.'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'that there was someone, or something, bound to destroy us'.
Deamhan nods and says (in common), 'Last night, I asked the Lady to read the Pattern for me'.

Cordir shivers slightly.

Boromir raises an eyebrow.

Deamhan says (in common), 'as she is bound to do so whenever formally asked, she did'.

Serenity nods, as if asking that you continue.

Cordir says, 'The second time in the span of two days.'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'and found that my ... Lord ... my father is the one who made that vow. I do not know what he plans, but I fear it may spill over onto the rest of you'.

Boromir shrugs.

Deamhan says (in common), 'since what affects me, affects the Lady, and all of us...'.

Gregar scratches his head.
Serenity nods.

Boromir says (in common), 'forewarned is forearmed'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Thus, my story to you tonight'.

Deamhan nods in recognition to Boromir.
Serenity agrees with Boromir 100%.

Boromir grins .. an evil grin.

Deamhan says (in common), 'So that you know who I am, and who may wish us harm'.
Deamhan grins neutrally at Boromir.

Boromir inclines his head in acknowledgement.

Gregar's first reaction is to fight.
Deamhan is un-surprised.
Deamhan grins neutrally.

Cordir stiffens, and looks up into the Pattern, anger blazing in her eyes. "Who DARES.... "

Deamhan looks up sharply as well.

Gregar says (in common), 'nothing will ever get me without getting at least one rift in the face'.

Boromir idly glances up.

She snarls, 'How DARE he?'

Cordir opens the Pattern-Web.

Suddenly, Deamhan's fangs seem sharper, and you see what an angry vampire really looks like...

Gregar's eyes glaze over in a wondrous expected fight.
Gregar throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!

Talmud seems to raise a brow.

Deamhan says (in common), 'He's there, isn't he? In OUR place'.

Cordir snarls, 'There is an ... intruder... in my ... our... garden.'

Boromir relaxes a bit.

Talmud looks around.
Boromir looks around.
Talmud frowns, and growls, 'Above You : A Moonlit Garden. Vil.

Boromir thinks party time!

Deamhan will speak to him.
Deamhan leaves up.

Boromir nods.

Cordir says, 'Not alone'.

Gregar looks up then at Cordir in a questioning glance.

Cordir leaves up.

A Moonlit Garden [Exits: down]
(Purple Aura) Deamhan is here.
(Red Aura) (White Aura) Lord Vil reclines on his throne.

Cordir ftells, '*icily* Chosen, please attend me.'.
Cordir ftells, 'We have a royal guest.'.

Boromir arrives from below.
Talmud arrives from below.
Gregar arrives from below.
Serenity arrives from below.
Durin arrives from below.

Boromir grins neutrally.

Talmud growls at Vil. Better leave the room before the fighting starts.
Vil slaps Talmud.

Durin frowns.

A Moonlit Garden [Exits: down]
You stand quietly in the midst of a nearly silent garden, afraid to move. This is clearly no normal, natural place. Lit only by the oddly shimmering light of a full silver moon, this tiny glade is no more than twenty paces across, and a still, unmoving pool of water is its silent heart. The trees all around are hung with intricate spiders' webs. None by itself is sturdier than any ordinary web, but the layers upon layers of them combine to seal you off entirely from the world outside. There is no more than a hint of breeze, and the leaves rustling overhead are a barely heard subliminal murmur. The air is strange; somehow, everything seems to be rippling slightly, and a thousand subtle scents drift by your nose and are gone again. This garden, you realize, is not real. Perhaps it is waiting to be real, or perhaps it once was, or perhaps it is beyond such things as real and not-real altogether... A pattern, a place, an idea, that you are holding in your mind for a few moments, and nothing more.
(Purple Aura) Durin is here.
(Purple Aura) Serenity is flying here.
(Purple Aura) Gregar is flying here.
(Purple Aura) Talmud is here.
(Invis) (Purple Aura) Boromir is flying here.
(Purple Aura) Deamhan is here.
(Red Aura) (White Aura) Lord Vil reclines on his throne.

Gregar cackles gleefully at Vil.
Vil cackles gleefully at Gregar.

Boromir ftells, 'royal pain in the a** guest '.

Tripper arrives from below.

Deamhan says coldly, "I do not welcome you, Father."

Boromir laughs at Vil mercilessly.
Vil slaps Boromir.

Boromir wiggles his bottom toward Vil.

Vil snickers softly.

Gregar stares at Vil, practically frothing at the mouth.

Boromir ftells, 'cant touch this'.
Boromir wiggles his bottom toward Vil.

Lord Vil snickers, and shrugs.

Someone grins happily at Cordir.

Serenity ftells, '*laugh*'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'By what right do you violate this place?'.

Lord Vil sneers, 'So... BOY.... by what right did you rob me of my amusements, all those nights ago?'

Boromir seems to glow a bit.

Deamhan says (in common), 'They were not your amusements'.

The demon prince throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!

Deamhan says (in common), 'And I am not a boy'.

Boromir looks at Vil.

Prince Vil smirks, 'Oh, but it was SOOOOOO amusing...'
Prince Vil continues, 'Your poor, agonized little soul...'
His figure seems to grow larger, filling the garden.

Boromir ftells, 'lets whack him one time .. just because :) '.
Boromir gets out his balloon-popping pin.

Deamhan seems unfazed.
Deamhan says (in common), 'These are parlor tricks and smarm, Father'.

The Demon Prince seems almost disappointed. "What, no bold attempts to slay me for daring to violate your little trysting spot?"

Boromir has seen better tricks in the bazaar side-show.
Boromir smirks.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Your presence violates it enough. I will not sully it further with unwillingly shed blood'.

Vil narrows his gaze, and steps forward, grasping Deamhan's chin in his taloned hand.

Deamhan doesn't move, but looks back calmly.

"There's nothing worth anything in you, is there? no fire... no spirit" Vil snarls.

Deamhan throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!
Deamhan says (in common), 'Oh, Father, I never knew you had it in you. Not only to be big and bad and evil and scary-like, but silly too'.

Durin frowns.
Durin nods in recognition to Deamhan.

Vil sneers, "Just a weak willed piece of trash like your mother..."

Deamhan sobers and stares straight back at Vil.
Deamhan says tersely, "There is more in me than you will ever understand, and it is your loss."

Vil lowes his tone. "Prophesy or no... I will see you dead, spawn."

Deamhan smiles coldly. He says (in common), 'All of us die. But not all of us live.'.

Vil hisses in disgust.

Cordir stands coldly silent, Her gaze like ice.

Her fingers work in a small, subtle Pattern.

The spiderwebs in the garden begin to glow softly.

Deamhan removes Vil's talons from his chin and goes to stand by his wife.
Deamhan says (in common), 'Do you see this bond, Vil? You will never break it'.

Deamhan gestures at his fellow Chosen.
Deamhan says (in common), 'Do you see _those_ bonds? You will never break them'.

The demon prince spits at the ground at your feet.

Boromir chuckles, evidently amused.
Durin yawns.
Gregar agrees with Deamhan 100%.

Deamhan says (in common), 'If spitting is the best you can manage, then you are wasting our time. You are not welcome here.'.

Vil gestures at Gregar. "Him. He's ripe for corruption. He practically trembles for it."

Boromir winks at Gregar.

Gregar says (in common), 'My friends strengthen me'.

Serenity beams a smile at Gregar.

Deamhan says (in common), 'That will be his own choice. But I have better hope than that for him'.

Gregar says (in common), 'I shall not be baited even by you'.

Boromir ftells, 'be steady big guy : )'.

Vil gestures at Boromir. "Him. So afraid of the dark, he cannot feed his fellows who... " He smirks at Deamhan. " Thirst.."

Durin says (in common), 'I have been down that road Vil, you will not be able to sway me'.

Durin shivers uncomfortably.
Boromir laughs at Vil mercilessly.
Boromir laughs at Vil mercilessly.

Boromir says (in common), 'of the dark ..perhaps .. bozo's like you? '.
Boromir throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!

Deamhan says (in common), 'Do you intend to make silly threats to each person here?'. He patiently twiddles his thumbs.

Serenity grins neutrally.

Boromir flips a gold coin to Vil ..
Boromir says (in common), 'here go buy a friend'.

Vil smiles coldly.
Vil shakes his head, with a soft murmur. "Why should I?"

Deamhan says (in common), 'It may be, Father, that it is a silly hope to think of reconciliation between you and me. but I do not intend to spend the rest of my life letting hate gnaw at me'.

Vil smiles, 'When I already have your little girl and your brother? How much longer until I have you?'

Deamhan says (in common), 'You will not'.
Deamhan says (in common), 'and you do not'.

Boromir pats Deamhan on his back.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Do you think I would not know if Mireya were unwell?'.

Deamhan smiles.
Deamhan says (in common), 'I forgot one more thing which I have, which you have never had'.

Vil smiles indolently. "What's that, spawn?"

Deamhan says (in common), 'faith'.
Deamhan raises his hands, palms towards his father.

Boromir wonders if Vil realizes he started with no chance and has lost ground since then.

The Prince narrows his gaze.

Deamhan's hands begin to glow slightly, as does the air around them.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Faith is what I have in my wife'.
Deamhan takes a step towards Vil.

Cordir stands next to her husband, and makes a similar gesture.

Deamhan says (in common), 'Faith is what I have in my goddess'.
The very air begins to glow.

Deamhan takes another step forward.
Deamhan says (in common), 'Faith is what I have in my fellow chosen'.

The Demon Prince seems to almost... take a step back.

Boromir raises his hand in a similar gesture and moves toward Deamhan and Cordir.

Deamhan stands straighter, smiling at Cordir and Boromir, and steps forward again.

With a hiss, Vil snarls, and with a roar of thunder and fire, is gone.
The room is enveloped with flame!

Boromir sighs loudly.

Deamhan lowers his hands and closes his eyes, head thrown back, and breathes deeply.
Deamhan opens his eyes.

She shivers, and asks, 'For what?'.

Deamhan says (in common), 'For everything. For so many years together. For being you. For being the mother of my child. For healing me. For loving me'.

Cordir smiles gently, nuzzling against Deamhan's chest.

Deamhan says (in common), 'for being my rock and the strength to turn away from hatred'.

Cordir says, 'Ever and always...'.

Deamhan kisses his wife.
