Seeking Virtue
05/10/1998: This log was created by DarkHeart, and begins partway through an interview by JohnPaul, the lord of Holy Virtue. In the beginning of the log, they are discussing the Silver Fellowship and Gryphon.

JohnPaul says, 'That is a good question. He has fooled some people.'.
You say (in common), 'Thats just silly.'.
JohnPaul says, 'They believe they work for Good, but in fact, they serve his purposes of evill'.
You say (in common), 'Evils foundation is in deception... deceiving good into evil is a triumph for evil..'.
JohnPaul says, 'So, we see through this deception and do not give aid to any Nashites.'.
You say (in common), 'Understood... '.
JohnPaul says, 'Have you read the laws of this land, as found in HELP POLICY and the FYI notes?'.
Torchbearer arrives from the west.
Torchbearer sleeps.

JohnPaul nods.
JohnPaul says, 'I expect my followers to obey both the spirit and the letter of my rules and the laws of this world.'.
JohnPaul says, 'This means no playing in the "gray area" between legal and illegal, right and wrong.'.

Torchbearer utters the words, 'qcandusahz yaae'. A Magic Mushroom suddenly appears.

JohnPaul smiles happily.
JohnPaul says, 'I assume you know my PK policy by now?'.
Torchbearer wakes and stands up.
Torchbearer leaves west.

JohnPaul says, 'This is both a requirement for restraint and a requirement for action.'.
JohnPaul says, 'Do you accept this?'.

Darkheart bows her head in submission.
JohnPaul says, 'Who was my god when I was mortal?'.
You say (in common), 'Errrmm... I could guess, but i must be honest and say i can't remember.'.
JohnPaul says, 'Then look around.'.

You see a wall filled with stained glass. The scenes tell the story
of the biggest event in JohnPaul's mortal life, the day he was
accepted into the LIGHT as a cleric Mortician.

You see the pulpit from which JohnPaul gives his fiery sermons on Holy
Virtue and how to walk the Path. Behind that is a huge statue of Mort,
his god when he was mortal. To the side of the pulpit is a chair which
belongs to Jerald, the Attendant, an important aide to JohnPaul. On the
far wall are the names Splat, Cerebus, Assilem, and Robert, the
immortals who walked the Path of Holy Virtue.
Thaoer tells you (in common), 'Hello my friend. How are you doing?'.

JohnPaul smiles happily.
JohnPaul says, 'Who is my Paladin?'.
You tell Thaoer (in common), 'Well thankyou Thaoer. I will be with you in a little while...'.

You see a mural around the doorway. The scenes show the birth of
JohnPaul. Through the doorway is the street you entered from.
The door is open.

You see a wall filled with stained glass. The scenes show the many
deaths and other travails which JohnPaul overcame during his mortal
life. One in particular shows his many deaths by the sword of the
mayor of Midgaard.

You see a beautiful fresco painting. The scenes tell the story of
the end of JohnPaul's life as a mortal. The main sequence shows him
being hunted and killed by the executioner. The last scene shows
IvoryTiger giving him godhood.

You see a beautiful marble floor, removed from a quarry near the fabled
Lost City of Mount Aire.
JohnPaul's Temple

You are in the center of the nave. Have a seat in a pew while you
look at the beautiful temple all around you. Besides the pew and
an altar, you notice a pulpit in the front. There is a chair off
to the side of the pulpit, and a plaque hanging nearby.

The altar seems to rise up out of the floor, as it is made from the
same fine marble. A fine likeness of Gators, Paladin of Holy Virtue,
has been carved into the front.

SACRIFICE
Syntax: sacrifice <object>
SACRIFICE works on objects on the ground or in your inventory. If the
object is on the ground, it is removed from the game. If the object is
in your inventory, SACRIFICE offers it to your god, sending it to them
if they are online, and have room in their inventory. If they are offline,
or have no room, it is removed from the game. Your god may reward you
for the sacrifice. The nature of the reward depends upon the type of object.
