There isn't much to notice about this person. His clothes are ill-fitting,
and his face hasn't seen a razor since he left his mother's home. Yet...
something about the grace of the way he uses his hands, and a certain
ancient knowledge in his eyes bespeaks to his understanding of the ways
of magic. It would be easy to underestimate him - and many have, to their
peril. His gaze is steadfast, meeting yours without reservation.

Long Description: A black and gold insect darts through the air, moving far too quickly to see.

Look yellowjacket:
It is easier to hear this insect, rather than see it. It moves quickly,
darting here and there, fiercely hunting prey. Fearless, it readies its
stinger, curving its abdomen forward, wings flitting back. The bands of
black and gold that stripe its body might first mislead you to think it
is a bee, seeking pollen and the shelter of flowers, but no. Aggressive
and willing to take on targets larger than itself, this yellowjacket is
prepared to defend its territory against any who might invade.  You can
only Admire its spirit and tenacity as it dives and buzzes past, flying
close enough to stab you with its stinger before zooming away. 

Look Spirit:
This little bug shows unusual spirit. Even feeling the stinging pain
caused by its passing, you sense you will not soon forget it.

Long Description: This green robe has seen better days, and shows stains and tears.

Examining this robe, you realize that it is very, very old. Made of a 
fine linen, it has withstood the test of time, yet it bears the proof
that its wearer did not walk a very safe path.  Bloodstains and tears
are visible, reminders of one foolish and madcap plan after another.
Barely legible on the inside collar is an embroidered name:  "Malin"

Running your fingertip over the embroidered name tag, you are swept
into a powerful vision of the past:

Two young boys, one slightly older than the other, dash through a 
verdant forest. The shorter of the two shouts, 'Slow down, you are
gonna run straight into the dragon!'  His legs do not allow him to
keep up with the older boy, who, caught up in the spirit of things,
hasn't quite thought through this latest adventure. The boy sighs,
and chases after the other, grumbling softly.

Long Description: A shimmering length of chain seems to grow from the earth here.


Look Blue or Look Chain:
Bloody briars encircle it, almost as though the metal grew from
the plant itself. The blues and reds mingle together where the
blood stains the chain.

a keen-edged sword of odd green-brown metal

Long Description: This slender blade bears a razor's edge along its unusual green-brown length.

Look sword:
This blade is clearly unique in the world, crafted of the ore collected from 
fifty earth elementals in an epic struggle lasting three days. Forged in the
fires of a dying fire elemental, it has been hammered to a keen razors edge. 
The grip is crafted of a composite of desert opal and lapis blended together
in a pleasing blue-green that compliments the green-brown of the blade. Twin
lines of script flow down its blade, interweaving: one line in elven and the
other in the desert tongue. They tell the tale of a brother and sister, hard
at work together, towards a common goal. Bound by blood, each has shed a bit
of it again in the forging of this blade, a mighty weapon for his righteous,
noble use.
 
Look lapis opal grip:
The finest deep blue lapis and the brightest, glittering rare green opal has
been crushed together into a composite of brilliant color, and shaped into a
hilt made to fit one hand and one hand alone. Her love and affection forms a
part of the magic that binds his grip to this blade, unbreakable.
