Consequences

You tell Samiyah, 'Do you have a moment, Sami?'.

Samiyah tells you (in common), 'Yes Sah.. er.. Lord Wish'.

You tell Samiyah, 'You asked me a question. You deserve an answer. I do not blame you, Sami, no more than a traveler walking through the woods should blame the snake that he steps on and is bitten by. It was I who ate your poem. It was I who should have known better that words hold magic in and of themselves. That does not, however, mean that I will not do what I feel is necessary to restore myself.'.

Except of course a desert woman whose knowledge of the ocean extends to the rare shell she finds on the beach'.

I hold you in esteem even if I am angry and I would not intentionally insult you by using something dirty nor would I insult my poem that way either! And No I do not know about the water much or the things on it or in it. I tried to do a thing in .. in the . the word I am not sure - context? - that spoke to you in a good way but it was the worst way, and it insulted you instead and for that I apologize.'.

Flakes of brown, dried blood, fall from the scroll into the alembic, causing the mixture within to foam a little.

Belgarion puts the bloodridden scroll in a saddlebag.

Wish sets up the Alembic in the corner of the room, lighting a small fire beneath it, and checking to make sure the tiny tap is closed.

Wish looks on intently at the alembic, as the mixture within begins to boil.

DarkClaw's features take on a somewhat worried look. "I'm not so sure about this. The Earth...it told me last night of an upcoming struggle."

Belgarion says (in common), 'you have no idea what that could cause'.

Wish says, 'The boiling should destroy any bad ethers that the blood carried with it.'.

Vicarious rummages through his bags for a surgeons mask.

You say, 'It would not say who or what the struggle entailed.'.

Steam begins building up in the alembic, obstructing the view within.

Wish suddenly opens the tiny spigot...and a glowing green fluid begins to drip...drip...drip into the beaker.

Wish begins blowing on the fire beneath the alembic, causing it to burn even hotter.

You tell Samiyah, 'Wish is already preparing the concoction as we speak.'.

The dripping increases in intensity...the fluid turns from green...to blue...

You say, 'Color...that's a good sign.'.

Belgarion ftells, 'is there any place in the realm to get vegetables?'.

You ftell, 'Hmm, I thought there was at one point, but don't know where.'.

The beaker is nearly halfway full when Wish suddenly closes the spigot and waves a hand, putting out the fire.

Vicarious lets out a little gasp for air, intensely watching.

Samiyah yells (in common), '*calls out loudly* "Ghazkull has it - unenchanted or magicked in him!!"'.

You ftell, 'Lettuce or cabbage at least I believe.'.

Belgarion ftells, ‘I need carrots and potatoes'.

Wish holds up the beaker, eyeing the liquid within with satisfaction.
