The Sisters Speak
(Log by Cordir)
Cordir <72>: Do you have a moment, Sister?
Katrana <72>: I do. Need me?
Within a Grand Hunting Lodge
[Exits: west down]
(Red Aura) An enormous, empty black iron cauldron hangs above an unlit firepit.
(Invis 72) (Intense Light Red Aura) Katrana is here.
You say, 'Your old follower is something of a thorn in my side'.
Katrana raises an eyebrow.
Katrana says, 'I have several old followers that could do that. which one do you refer to?'.
Katrana smirks.
Cordir spits the name, "Seraph"
Katrana grumbles.
Katrana says, 'He has been annoying me as well. I do not know what to think of him.'.
You say, 'His soul collecting business.'.
Katrana grumbles.
Katrana says, 'Is he again? Are they willingly being given?'.
Katrana raises an eyebrow.
Cordir says abruptly, "No. From the past."
You say, 'from those in the grave.'.
Katrana eyes grow wide.
Katrana shakes her head.
Katrana says, 'You must be joking...are you certain?'.
Katrana realizes who she just asked and grimaces.
Cordir snarls, "He took Mireya and Deamhan."
Katrana gasps in astonishment.
Katrana says, 'No!'.
You say, 'They have been Pattern-lost for centuries'.
Hunting hounds bellow in the distance.
You say, ‘It was the spell wrought to conceive her - A vampire has no living seed - so we twisted time, knowing a price would have to be paid. We paid it willingly'.
Katrana sighs loudly.
Katrana nods.
You say, 'but to see their life spark in his hands.. with him taunting me of how I had "abandoned and forgotten" them'.
Katrana says, 'Sister...they may have returned...of their own will. To be Reborn as the Pattern willed...'.
You say, 'Into his grasp as a meal or bargaining chip?'.
Katrana says, 'No. What is he doing?!'.
Katrana growls.
You say, 'I do not know what he is doing'.
Katrana says, 'Either is terrible.'.
You say, 'I commanded him gone before I slew him myself … which - he warned me - would destroy their spirits'.
Katrana says, 'Good, you should have done mo...'.
Katrana sighs loudly.
Katrana says, 'Because he holds them...'.
Katrana shakes her head angrily.
You nod.
Thunder peals outside as if reflecting the Wyldess' mood.
Katrana's eyes flash crimson.
You say, 'I want to HURT him, Kat. I want to reach out and .. and.. rip his wings off. I want to hurt him through his people so he feels helpless. I have not ever been this angry'.
Katrana grins Wyldly.
Katrana says, 'Sister...what does he hold close? Or who?'.
You say, 'His little mouse'.
Katrana nods.
Katrana says, 'I can call the Hunt.'.
Cordir gestures vaguely, "some desert-born rabble as they all are. Nothing but bad comes of Tribefolk."
Cordir paces.
Katrana raises an eyebrow.
You say, 'I want him to fear and hurt and worry.'.
Katrana sits down and thinks deeply.
Katrana says, 'Well, that or...'.
You say, 'I want him to regret the day he put his filthy desert hands on my daughter's spirit'.
Katrana says, 'What if mine try to claim her? Seraph -worshiped- me.'.
You say, 'Cut her Thread, you mean?'.
Katrana sits down and thinks deeply.
Katrana says, 'I could. Or attempt to steal her faith. Or both.'.
Katrana grins Wyldly.
Katrana says, 'Both would hurt him...significantly'.
You say, 'something has to be done. Something vengeful.'.
Katrana sits down and thinks deeply.
Katrana sits down and thinks deeply.
Katrana says, 'I will have some words with Seraph...'.
You nod.
You say, 'I cannot speak with him. The rage just fills me.'.
Katrana nods.
You say, 'I want him in pain.'.
Katrana says, 'Speak of the plague.'.
You nod.
The Last Chance To Do Right
(Log by Katrana)
You ftell, 'Hound...I have a...opportunity for you.'.
Sagan ftells, 'Er... yes, my Wyldess?'.
You ftell, 'How would you like to Hunt a Thread that has never been cut by another mortal?'.
You ftell, 'To protect...the Triat.'.
Sagan ftells, 'I would like that VERY much! Those threads are harder to cut than most. '.
Sagan ftells, 'Well... the reason is normally irrelevant to me, but to protect the Triat does add a level of obligation to the idea. '.
You ftell, '*nod* I need to have a conversation...but I hoped you had felt that way.'.
The Hall of the High Order
[Exits: north]
This cold stone hall is not a place of warmth and comfort: it is sparse and
imposing in its nature. From the placement of the tables and benches to the
lines of armored figures against the wall, everything draws the eye up to a
commanding and horrifying throne of made of bone against the south wall. An
ancient black dragon hide has been stretched taut and nailed to the ceiling,
a barbaric reminder of the prowess of the one who makes this his home. Fire
roars within an enormous hearth, large enough to roast an entire cow within,
yet the chamber has an icy stillness to it despite the flames. Upon the wall
to the east and to the west, a massive portrait hangs in a black wood frame.
On the floor, just in front of the throne, a black iron plaque has been set
into the stone.
It is impossible to track here.
(Blue Aura) A hand-lettered open book rests upon a black iron pedestal.
(Invis 71) (Intense Dark Blue Aura) Seraph is here.
Grantsight set for Seraph.
You [GS] tell Seraph, 'We need to talk...I have information that I am not happy of, young one.'.
Seraph tells you, 'please come visit'.
Seraph sits upon his throne.
Seraph says, 'you’re here'.
Katrana glances around the newly established temple.
You say, 'Things...feel...familiar.'.
Katrana nods slowly.
Katrana shakes her head slowly before turning to you.
Seraph says, 'you influenced my life so I paid respect to you'.
You say, 'I hoped I did in a more positive manner...'.
You raise your eyebrow.
You say, 'I hear whispers... You have two souls... Unwillingly given.'.
Seraph rests his head on his hand.
Seraph says, 'unwillingly? no that is not true'.
You say, 'Nor is willingly given, either. They have not been Reborn yet.'.
You sigh.
You say, 'So it is true? Why meddle with Her Seraph? Not only is she a powerful deity. She is my SISTER.'.
Seraph holds out his hands then opens them.
Two souls form and float around Seraph.
Katrana reaches out to the two almost protectively.
You say, 'Let them go.'.
Seraph says, 'Mistress of the Wyld: hear these words'.
You raise your eyebrow.
The Silver and Argentine Threads shudder at the edges of your vision.
Seraph says, 'I found them lost so they wanted to come with me'.
You growl. Grrrrrrrrrr...
Katrana shakes her head slowly.
You say, 'No. '.
Seraph says, ‘I offered to give them to your sister'.
You say, 'They may have been lost, but the Pattern would have taken them and granted them Rebirth when it was time.'.
Seraph says, 'well now I will give them Rebirth when it is time'.
You say, 'That is NOT your decision, dear one.'.
Seraph says, 'see I went to your sister'.
Seraph says, 'and offered to give them to her'.
You say, 'In return for what?'.
The souls float around then land back in Seraph’s hands.
You say, 'Something like this should be let go. You were of the Triat.'.
Seraph closes his hands.
You say, 'They should be Reborn!'.
Seraph leans back in his throne.
Seraph says, ‘I offered in good faith'.
You raise your eyebrow.
Seraph says, 'Yes. She refused. Her hatred has blinded her'.
You say, 'Then give them to me...right now.'.
Seraph says, 'no'.
You raise your eyebrow.
You say, 'No?'.
Seraph says, 'they are Cordir’s'.
You say, 'They are the Pattern's ! Cordir knows this. She would not be upset if you gave them to me. '.
Seraph says, 'Patterns are meant to reform...reshape'.
You say, 'In its' own time! Seraph...if I do not get those souls...Threads...things will happen.'.
Seraph says, 'Mistress of the Wyld, even though I respect you and have you in my hall, these souls will not be placed in your hands'.
Katrana eyes flash crimson.
You say, 'What are you intending to do?'.
You growl. Grrrrrrrrrr...
Seraph says, 'which brings me to my next subject. Your hound: would you like him whole again or not?'.
Seraph rests his hands on the arms of his throne.
You say, 'No...that once was something I would have wanted...but I accept the Pattern...and so does he...as it is. And for me to accept something...is difficult. I thrive on change. On chaos...but some elements...are NOT meant to be tampered with. Even I have learned this.'.
Seraph says, 'all elements are meant to change'.
You say, 'Then so be it. I have nothing left to say Seraph. Other than...be ready.'.
You say, 'Things you hold dear, hold close...like how I view the Pattern...and Threads... Will waver...and things you thought could not change now will.'.
Seraph leans forward looking you dead in the eyes.
Katrana stands still staring back.
Seraph says, 'You threaten me? You helped create me, Katrana, you know how I think'.
You say, 'I know, dear one...I had hoped, you had remembered...and knew...how important the Pattern is...Threads are…. And what should and should not be tampered with.'.
Seraph says, ‘If my thread is so much even looked at the wrong way....'.
You say, 'Oh...your Thread will be fine. I work in other ways.'.
Katrana cackles Wyldly.
Seraph says, 'that is fine. I assume your hunters will come'.
You nod.
Seraph says, 'so typical of you'.
You say, 'As I said...some things, can't change.'.
You wink suggestively.
Seraph says, 'send your dog'.
The Hunt is Called
(Log by Katrana)
Within a Grand Hunting Lodge
[Exits: west down]
Massive beams of dark, ancient pine form the walls and ceiling of this enormous
hunting lodge. Trophies hang upon the wall, ranging from a simple twelve point
buck to the scaled head of an ancient red dragon. The chamber is laid out
symmetrically with rows of trestle tables and wide, stone fireplaces to either
side of the main corridor. To either side of the main door, twin staircases
spiral upwards towards the lofts where the hunters who live here take their
rest. The floor is strewn with sweet smelling rushes and fur hide rugs. In the
north-west corner, a small door leads out to the pens and stables. At the far
end of the lodge, a semi-circular raised platform holds the throne of the Lady
Huntress. The scent of a fresh kill and roasting meat fills the air, and the
sound of the hunting-hounds baying causes your blood to rise in your veins,
suffused with an intense joy you cannot explain.
It is impossible to track here.
(Red Aura) An enormous, empty black iron cauldron hangs above an unlit firepit.
(Light Red Aura) Aoide, The Past Grand Finder, is here.
Grantsight to Seraph removed.
You ftell, 'Sagan, temple please?'.
You ftell, 'Aoide: stay here?'.
Sagan arrives from the west.
Aoide nods in recognition to you.
Sagan kisses Aoide's hand. How continental!
Aoide ftells, 'that was my next question'.
Aoide ftells, 'didn’t want to interrupt'.
Aoide winks at Sagan.
Katrana <72>: Sister are you around? You may want to hear what I am about to say.
Cordir fades into existence, wreathed in ebon flame and sable shadow.
Sagan laughs at Aoide mercilessly.
Sagan drinks water from a water bowl.
You grumble.
You say, 'If only Ink were here too.'.
Aoide says (in common), 'just a sec'.
You nod.
You say, 'Please tell me when you're ready...'.
You say, 'I'm calling a Hunt. And I need to explain it as much as possible.'.
Sagan sits down and thinks deeply.
Sagan says (in common), 'I don't need explanations, just a target.'.
Sagan shrugs.
Thunder peals outside the lodge.
Katrana paces back and forth muttering about, 'souls'.
Aoide says (in common), 'ok, proceed'.
You say, 'First of all Sagan...there is one that just referred to you as a dog...something that has been used as a comparison to Belgarion. So use that as whatever fuel you need.'.
Aoide says (in common), 'oh my'.
Sagan mutters something under his breath.
Sagan says (in common), 'I'm listening. '.
You say, 'Seraph has taken the souls of two...who mean very much to me. And to my Sister. I also know my Silent Sister would be livid. He is... NOT... giving them over.'.
Aoide frowns.
Aoide says (in common), 'and this serves the higher order of good *how*?!'.
You say, 'I'm not sure. He would not...give them to me when I asked. I hope Sister will not strike me down...but I feel I need to tell you the souls, just to show you how utterly important this Hunt is.'.
Sagan says (in common), 'So who do we get to kill in order to show him the error of his ways?'.
Ink arrives from the west.
You ftell, 'Ink temple.. now'.
You nod.
Ink ftells, 'mew'.
Ink smiles happily.
Sagan ftells, 'SHUT UP AND GET TO THE TEMPLE'.
Sagan ftells, 'oh'.
Sagan ftells, 'pretend I said that 10 seconds earlier'.
Ink ftells, ‘I keel u'.
You say, 'Ink...Seraph has the souls of Mireya, and Deamhan.'.
Ink winces. Ouch!
Sagan sits down and thinks deeply.
Aoide gasps in astonishment.
Aoide says (in common), 'how did he get those???!!'.
Sagan says (in common), 'Why... why would he have them?'.
You say, 'So...souls of importance to me, and BOTH of my Sisters.'.
Sagan says (in common), 'That almost seems to be a direct attack on Cordir.'.
You nod in recognition to Sagan.
Ink nods in recognition to Sagan.
You say, 'Clue...the Wyrm was Deamhan's brother in blood... as well.'.
You say, 'Plus these souls not being available for Rebirth...is an attack on me.'.
Aoide nods.
Ink nods.
Sagan nods.
You say, 'I will not have it.'.
Aoide says (in common), 'this is a hunt I will join if Sagan has a use for me'.
Ink is so excited that she cheers just for the hell of it.
Sagan enthusiastically cheers Aoide to victory.
Sagan nods.
You say, 'I want his granted Rebirth...but most of all…’
Sagan says (in common), 'So is there a specific person or just open season on all of them?'.
You say, ' I want the one whose Thread has NOT yet been cut by a mortal. Seraph must feel pain.'.
Sagan ponders what you are talking about.
You say, 'I want Samiyah's Thread.'.
Sagan coughs.
Sagan says (in common), 'Really? My little bardling?'.
Ink winces. Ouch!
Ink nods.
You nod.
Sagan sighs loudly.
You say, 'I wanted you all to hear it from me.'.
Aoide says (in common), 'my lady… This will bring us pain. But he must pay'.
You say, 'I care very much for that bardling as well, but she must be granted Rebirth.'.
Ink silences Aoide.
Ink says (in sahuagin), 'Let there be blood!'.
Aoide says (in common), 'I am not arguing with the Lady Wyld!'.
Sagan says (in common), 'If this is your will.'.
Sagan nods.
Sagan says (in common), 'Samiyah will know Rebirth. And fear.'.
Aoide says (in common), 'Sagan, Ink... I will help you. I have sworn to aid the hunt and have not yet done so - but I will not trick her'.
You say, 'She will grow stronger in her Rebirth, as you all have before.'.
Sagan grins evilly.
Sagan nods in recognition to Aoide.
Ink says (in sahuagin), 'Trickery is not needed'.
Ink says (in sahuagin), 'She is naive'.
You nod.
Aoide says (in common), ‘If deceit must be involved, it will not come from me. Pain and fear can. Her god has stepped too far'.
You say, 'I don't expect you to deceive her. Though we do have a bard capable of hiding from the largest of detects.'.
Katrana grins Wyldly.
Aoide nods.
Sagan says (in common), 'Deceit is too easy, anyway. We need to show Seraph that we want this as messy as it needs to be. '.
You nod.
Ink nods in recognition to Sagan.
You say, 'Show him what it means to be hunted... and to have what he cares about, taken away.'.
Ink nods.
Aoide says (in common), 'and the others of his?'.
You say, 'Slay, more than anyone else right now.'.
Sagan says (in common), 'Do they retain the 3 item rule?'.
You say, 'But I want her, and yes...the 3 item rule remains.'.
Aoide nods.
Ink grins evilly.
Ink tries to break dance, but nearly breaks her neck!
You nod.
You say, 'That was all I had to say. I wanted you three here.'.
Ink nods.
Ink says (in sahuagin), 'It will be done'.
Ink looks at you.
You hug Ink.
Sagan nods.
Katrana giggles Wyldly.
You say, 'So plot away my dears'.
You grin evilly.
Ink nods.
Ink already has a plan.
You tell Cordir, 'The Hunt has been called Sister.'.
Cordir nods in recognition to you.
Cordir looks around.
You ftell, 'Should you cut Samiyah's Thread...explain to her why this was needed. I forgot to mention that...she needs to see what her god...has been doing.'.
Aoide nods.
Aoide ftells, 'we will tell her. Also, a mysterious immortal voice gave me a warning for you, Kat. It said "tell your mistress that my offer to help her hound is fading fast"'.
You ftell, 'Meh, my Hound is not broken.'.
Sagan ftells, 'Not any more than most. '.
Sagan grins evilly.
You ftell, 'Haha'.
Cordir says viciously, "Make him hurt for what he has done."
Sagan nods.
Sagan grins evilly.
Sagan bows deeply.
Aoide says (in common), 'I do not know if this is still the case, but Lord Wish has demanded Samiyah's corpse for an experiment. We don't have to give it to him do we?'.
You ponder the question.
You say, 'We don't'.
Ink ftells, ‘I must depart! good riddance!'.
Aoide nods.
Aoide says (in common), 'thank you'.
You say, 'And unlike him, her Thread will be reborn...but it will be cut time and time again until he lets those souls go.'.
You growl. Grrrrrrrrrr...
Cordir gathers the shadows around herself, ebon flames outlining her for a moment.
Seraph: now where is Cordir hiding?
DarkClaw: She must've gotten busy at work.
Seraph: ahh figured since one half came to visit the other would
DarkClaw: That's usually how it works. Just not this time.
Seraph: seems I have upset the balance
DarkClaw: Have you? My balance seems to be the same as it was.
Seraph: come for a visit and we can talk
DarkClaw: Perhaps a rain check, Seraph. (Getting busy here. :-( )
