[ 10] Samiyah: a bardic work
Sun Nov 11 21:43:10 2012
To: seraph
Sahib Seraph:
I am afraid that I know almost nothing about you, other than what
the Sayyida DarkClaw has told me. That little, was a fearsome and
horrible tale -- indeed, she and I spoke once, of me writing a work to warn
the world of your stealing of souls. That is all that I know of you - that you
steal that which is most precious, as a game. I do not think I can
in conscience, sing well of you, if that is your desire
with respect,
Samiyah bint Rasul
DarkClaw says, 'I would bind your soul with ours, but I know that isn't your way.'.
Samiyah smiles but shakes her head.
[ 16] Seraph: poem

Seraph says, 'I feel that’s a good deal'.

11/18/2012: 3:00 PM - The Fallen One's Tale
Someone says, 'hi'.
Samiyah lays a hand across her chest, modestly lowers her eyes, and curtseys.
You say (in common), 'Hello, Someone'.
Someone says, 'it’s me '.
Seraph has granted you the ability to see him when he is invis.
Samiyah takes a slow, careful step back, but curtseys once more.
Seraph says, 'so you feel like you’re being forced?'.
Seraph wings fold about his body.
Samiyah says very politely, 'Hello, Fallen One.'
Seraph grins evilly at you.
> l seraph
You see nothing special about him.
Seraph is bathed in the essence of charisma.
Seraph is in perfect health.

You say (in common), 'Is it true that your eyes were torn out as a mortal?'.
You say (in common), 'I cannot tell, for the shadows around you.'.
Seraph says, 'torn no'.
Seraph says, 'they were burned out'.
You tell Seraph (in common), '((you REALLY need a desc!! *scold*))'.
You say (in common), 'Who did this?'.
Seraph raises his hand and a throne of bones rises from the floor.
Seraph sits on the throne.
Samiyah startles, and takes another step backward, gasping as she hits the wall unexpectedly.
Seraph says, 'when I was a child my parents were killed'.
Seraph says, 'I was about 8 at the time'.
Seraph says, 'I took to the streets of Midgaard doing whatever I could to survive'.
Seraph says, 'I meet up with a man and he took me in, fed me, clothed me'.
Seraph says, 'trained me in combat'.
Seraph says, 'but everything comes with a price'.
Seraph says, 'I worked for him stealing - collecting items for him '.
Samiyah nods slightly, listening.
Seraph says, 'if it wasn’t up to his standards I was beaten and it was never up to his standards'.
Samiyah makes a soft sound of sorrow at the image of a starved, desperate child being beaten.
Seraph says, 'One day he told me to go collect from the weaponsmith so I did'.
Seraph says, 'When I got back I saw him talking with a huge ogre'.
Seraph says, 'I was spotted standing there and was dragged into the room'.
Seraph says, 'They beat me with a chain and whips until I was almost dead'.
Seraph says, 'They heated up an iron fork and came over to me'.
Seraph says, 'He said a person with no eyes has no soul for the eyes are the window to the soul'.
Seraph says, 'and pushed the burning rod into my eyes '.
Samiyah covers her mouth with one hand, her eyes reflecting the horror she feels.
Seraph says, 'that moment my soul left my body and I was standing before a angel'.
Seraph says, 'He said I feel the hate in you and I will help you'.
Seraph says, 'He breathed life back into my lifeless body '.
Seraph says, 'He also told me how to steal souls for souls kept me alive'.
You say (in common), 'was this the 'Vir' I have read of?'.
Seraph says, 'no'.
Seraph says, 'I was not dead and I was not alive when I came back I was a angel'.
Seraph says, 'the first soul I ever took was Marion'.
Seraph pulls a gem from his robe. It glows bright red.
Samiyah stares wordlessly at the gem, shuddering.
Seraph tosses it to you.
Samiyah squawks and catches it instinctively.
Seraph says, 'meet Marion'.
Samiyah holds it in her hands like she would a dead, rotted thing.
Seraph says, 'he was the one who took me in'.
Tears seep from her eyes, staining her veil.
Seraph says, 'as the years passed I killed and collected souls'.
Samiyah begs softly, her voice shaking, 'Please .. please take it back.'
Samiyah extends her hands.
Seraph says, 'Then the Dark lord took me in under him I learned to harness my hate'.
Seraph opens his hand and the gem returns, absorbing into it.
Samiyah lowers her arms, unconsciously rubbing her hands against the linen of her robe, over and over.
Seraph says, 'Kerri made me a helm so I could see again'.
You say (in common), 'How? Magic?'.
Seraph says, 'I became his Ordained and fought many battles for him spilling blood of the innocent'.
Seraph says, 'he used some of his immortal powers to create it'.
Seraph says, 'don’t mistake my childhood as a tale of sorrow. It is a tale of vengeance'.
Seraph says, 'I am thankful for Marion - he unleashed me'.
Samiyah nod slightly and asks softly, 'What of your vows to Lady Mystaya?
Seraph eyes glow bright red.
Seraph says, 'hmmmm Mystaya'.
Seraph says, 'I loved her but she was my weakness'.
You say (in common), 'do you have children?'.
Seraph says, 'no'.
You say (in common), 'what about your followers?'.
Seraph says, 'After many years of killing and raiding towns my time came to become a god'.
Seraph says, 'When I took my rightful place among the gods I was torn apart'.
You say (in common), 'emotionally or literally?'.
Seraph says, 'Both'.
Seraph says, 'I lost my way to the power. I lost my focus'.
Seraph says, 'The souls I collected shattered within me destroying my mind and body'.
You say (in common), 'so what is the Vir?'.
Seraph says, 'The vir is an illusion'.
Seraph says, 'Something my mind created and took hold'.
Seraph says, 'Once the gods cast me out of the heavens I returned to normal'.
You say (in common), 'so the power of immortality was too much to bear?'.
Seraph says, 'I was not ready'.
Seraph stands up the bone throne crumbles to dust.
You say (in common), 'so if you 'returned to normal'... why do you still steal souls '.
Seraph bends down, looking you dead in the eyes.
Seraph says, 'Because I like to'.
Seraph grins evilly at you.
Samiyah cringes back, her shoulders pressed against the stone wall as if to hide within it.
Seraph says, 'I want chaos and death'.
Seraph says, 'I want to stop as many people as possible from entering the heavens'.
Samiyah asks softly, 'Why? Does it make you feel better?'
Seraph says, 'yes it does'.
Seraph hand glows red. As he holds it close to your face, you can feel your soul slipping away.
Seraph pulls his hand away.
Samiyah reaches up and grabs a small, hand-made charm in her hair, and says quickly, 'Away with you!'
Seraph says, 'see, Samiyah? I can collect anytime'.
Seraph says, 'but I like you'.
You say (in common), 'Why do you want me to write about you?'.
Seraph says, 'why? Because you are skilled'.
Seraph says, 'people listen to you'.
You say (in common), 'Why do you care if people know your story? You hate them all..'.
Seraph says, 'everyone wants to be remembered'.
Seraph says, 'I don't hate you'.
Seraph says, 'that's why I will not take your soul'.
You look at Seraph.
You shiver.
You say (in common), 'Which of my works did you like best?'.
You say (in common), 'so that I understand your preferences better..?'.
Seraph says, 'the wylds'.
You say (in common), 'The Hunter's Call?'.
Seraph nods.
Seraph says, 'You don't like me very much do you?'.
You say (in common), 'I think the soul is the only thing in life that is truly ours'.
You say (in common), 'and that you would steal that, take it..'.
You say (in common), 'I cannot fathom.'.
Seraph says, 'nothing is truly yours'.
You say (in common), 'I do not know _you_.. I do not like what you _DO_'.
You say (in common), 'you choose to be an instrument of pain.'.
You say (in common), 'I don't understand that desire.'.
Seraph says, 'you choose to be a instrument of life threw song'.
Seraph says, 'same difference'.
Samiyah adjusts her veil to hide a smile, and murmurs, 'Though, to Anduin, one is as evil as the other.'
Seraph says, 'there you have my story'.
You say (in common), 'I have a part of it, yes.'.
You say (in common), 'but when I wrote of Sayyida DarkClaw's life.. I did not simply speak to her.'.
You say (in common), 'our own perception is a cracked and warped mirror. we do not see ourselves clearly.'.
Seraph nods.
Seraph says, 'Darkclaw knows me well'.
You say (in common), 'I searched the archives for your words..'.
You say (in common), 'What was your argument with Talyn and Aslan?'.
Seraph says, 'they followed majere and did not deserve to breath life'.
You say (in common), 'Aslan was a Handmaiden of Fate'.
You say (in common), 'Talyn was a Tiger'.
Seraph says, 'talyn killed mystaya so I swore vengeance'.
Seraph says, 'ooc wow hard to remember that far back'.
You say (in common), 'Did you slay his love, in return?'.
You say (in common), '(I have mad research skilz on the tfc site!)'.
You giggle.
Seraph says, 'got to run for a few band prac'.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.
You wave.

Cresom says (in common), 'sure'.
Samiyah worries at her lower lip, the movement causing her veil to twitch.
You say (in common), 'I have no family outside the desert.'.
You say (in common), 'But consider you one that I trust and look to '.

> L seraph
If Hell itself had a champion, it would look much like the unholy figure
that towers over you. Dressed from head to toe in black plate armor, the
unrelieved sable continues in the inky wings that arch upward. Weapons,
shield, and armor alike bears the evidence of battle - blood dripping in
a steady stream to pool at his feet. Thick shouldered, bearing the signs
of two gods - Kerriariadne and Katrana - worn still around his wrists, a
clearer picture of violence could not be drawn. His multi-hued hair - an
uninteresting brown at the top, fading to a pale white at the ends - has
been braided back, to stay out of his eyes during combat. His eyes seem
unusually dark, shadowed, until he lifts his head with an evil laugh, an
unopposed view granted of the burned holes that are all that remains. It
is a horrifying sight and he laughs at your discomfort. His crossed arms
draw your eye to the holy symbols still worn around his wrists: That of
Katrana and Kerriariadne - the gods that shaped him the most strongly.
As he returns your stare, you feel a strange tugging in your chest - a
sense of emptiness... as if, by his presence alone, he could steal that
which is most precious - your very essence. With a smirk and a flick of
his fingers, he releases his playful tugging on your spirit... For now.
Seraph is bathed in the essence of charisma.
Seraph is in perfect health.

Brrrrrrrrr.
You say (in common), 'Not.. entirely... no. We had just finished swearing blood-oath. A tribe of two, now.'.
Cresom nods in recognition to you.
You say (in common), 'Cresom is my brother, now.'.
Seraph says, 'ahhhh'.
Cresom nods.
Samiyah holds up her bloody palm.
Cresom holds up the blacked bloody palm.
Seraph says, 'cute'.
Cresom says (in common), 'what havoc are you bringing to the realm today?'.
Seraph gasps in astonishment.
Seraph says, 'me?'.
Cresom nods.
Seraph says, 'i'm not bringing havoc'.
Cresom says (in common), 'a fallen angel can do no good as far as i know '.
Seraph raise his hand and a throne of bones rise from the ground.
You shudder from the sheer thought of it.
Seraph rests on the throne.
Seraph focuses on samiyah.
Cresom growls.
Seraph says, 'have you made up your mind about going home?'.
Samiyah gazes back, not able to look him in the face, staring instead at his feet. Her voice is barely a whisper. "I am afraid."
Seraph says, 'does my presence bother you cresom?'.
Seraph says, 'afraid afraid of what?'.
Cresom says (in common), 'no just don't like her being intimidated.'.
Cresom tells you (in common), 'i can't spell worth a damn sorry=P'.
Samiyah's fingers entwine to still their shaking. "Afraid to go back. Afraid what they might say."
You tell Cresom (in common), 'Hey, RP is RP, even misspelled. I'm just happy to do some :)'.
Seraph says, 'but then you will know the truth'.
You say (in common), 'I don't WANT to know if you are the god my ancestors prayed to. '.
Seraph says, 'how am i intimadating you cresom?'.
You say (in common), 'I don't want to know if you hear my prayers, instead of the gods I have always believed heard them!'.
Seraph growls.
Samiyah flinches, and instinctively reaches out, grabbing Cresom's arm.
Seraph stands up his throne crumbles to ashes.
Cresom flexes slightly.
You tell Cresom (in common), '(ooc: lol!!)'.
Cresom tells you (in common), 'snicker'.
Seraph voices changes to a demonic growl.
Seraph says, 'YOU THINK I AM BEING HARSH ON HER'.
Samiyah trembles, her weight shifting back so that she is half-hiding behind the Ordained.
Seraph says, 'SPEAK '.
Cresom says (in common), 'doesn't matter what I think, no one bothers Samiyah not with me around.'.
Tears course down from her eyes, staining her veil.
Seraph leans into cresom looking deep with in your soul.
Cresom says (in common), 'my sould is clean.'.
Cresom says (in common), 'soul i mean'.
Seraph gathers ahold of himself.
Seraph says, 'i am trying to help her'.
Cresom says (in common), 'doesn't seem like it to me. '.
Seraph looks at samiyah.
Samiyah will not meet the Fallen Angel's gaze, instead, staring at his feet once more.
Seraph says, 'look at me i need to see your eyes when i ask you this question'.
Samiyah swallows hard, trembling like a leaf. Her head lifts slowly, as she forces herself to obey.
Seraph says, 'have i harmed you in any way?'.
Cresom says (in common), 'harm can come in many forms'.
Seraph says, 'have i not tried to help you'.
Samiyah answers carefully, 'You have not done harm to my person. You have threatened my friends, however.'
You say (in common), 'answers more firmly, 'And you touched my face, which was a halal thing to do!.
You say (in common), '(oops)'.
Seraph says, 'have i not been trying to help you'.
You say (in common), '... not in any way that I understand...'.
Cresom says (in common), 'again your version of help can be twisted'.
You say (in common), '.. not in any way that you have spoken clearly of.'.
Seraph says, 'FINE'.
Samiyah flinches at the thundering tone.
Seraph smashes the wall with his hand.
Samiyah eeps and jumps back, her eyes going huge and frightened.
Cresom tightens a bit more.
Temple
[Exits: east south]
As you enter the Temple, you begin to feel more relaxed. Your worries
begin to melt away as you sense the peacefulness of the room.
A blue shimmering can be seen to the south.
(Dark Cyan Aura) Cresom is here.
>shiver
Brrrrrrrrr.
You say (in common), '... is he gone?'.
Cresom says (in common), 'he left us'.
Cresom hugs you.
Samiyah's trembling turns to tears and she weeps against your chest.
Cresom hugs you.
Samiyah fumbles for a bit of linen from one of her pouches, and blows her nose, sniffling. "I hate it when he thunders like
that."
Someone lands causing the ground to shake.
Cresom growls.
Samiyah adjusts her veil, ensuring its properly in place, then screams at the impact and the ground shaking.
Someone wings open up and ones of samiyahs elder tribesmen falls to the floor.
Someone hisses ASK HIM!
Samiyah blinks in astonishment to see the tribe shaman crumpled on the floor.
You say (in common), 'Sahib Malik, are you... are you allright? '.
Samiyah glances over the man, looking for injuries.
Someone hisses ASK HIM!
Someone watches the elder stand up before samiyah.
Samiyah shivers at the thundering voice, then switches to the desert dialect to ask:
Samiyah asks (in the desert tongue), 'Revered Elder... This One' - she indicates the general direction of the voice - 'is the god
of the Desert..'.
Samiyah continues (in the desert tongue), 'The Great Shepherd and Guardian of the Tribes... is this so?'
Someone stands back and grins as he answers the dark one is.
Samiyah blinks once. Then again. And again. Her expression is utterly blank and astonished.
Samiyah shakes her head, then speaks. "No, Elder. You must have misunderstood me. He - this Fallen One, of dark aura and
bloodstained hands --'
Samiyah continues, 'HE says that he is the one who answers the prayers of the men of the tribe...'
Samiyah shakes her head repeatedly as she speaks.
Someone smiles as the elder nods he hears all.
Samiyah presses her fist against her chest, as if her heart itself was aching. "Elder.. this cannot be.. We are not of the ways
of evil!"
Cresom says (in common), 'no your not samiyah '.
Samiyah says firmly, "I AM NOT EVIL!"
Cresom says (in common), 'doesn't matter what has been in the past.'.
Someone takes the elder by the hand lets go. he nods and they leave.
Cresom says (in common), 'that would be like my family back a long time ago being evil means i have to be. '.
Cresom says (in common), 'i have the purest heart around.'.
Cresom hugs you.
Samiyah stares in horror as the Elder walks away. "He said that he heard my prayers, when I prayed."
Cresom says (in common), 'id he gone for now?'.
Cresom says (in common), 'is i mean'.
Samiyah bites her lower lip and looks around. "I don't know. I don't sense his presence.."
Cresom says (in common), 'nor do I'.
Cresom says (in common), 'I never fear what I can't see'.
You giggle.
You say (in common), 'that's where we are different.'.
Cresom says (in common), 'because if i can't see it i think it isn't there'.
You say (in common), 'I'm afraid of everything I CAN'T see!'.
Samiyah makes 'scary-monster-hands'
Cresom says (in common), 'those are kids dreams '.
Cresom says (in common), 'i do push ups '.
Cresom says (in common), 'i can squash things'.
Samiyah says softly, 'They tell you that monsters exist... but ... you know, they really do.'
You smile at him.
You say (in common), 'it's easier to be brave with a brother!'.
Cresom says (in common), 'and when they show up I beat them up'.
Cresom hugs you.
You grin wickedly.
Cresom says (in common), 'you always have me '.
You thank Cresom heartily.
You smile at him.
You say (in common), 'Well, I must go on a quest to kill a monster, if I am to be ready to tell The Fallen One's story'.
You say (in common), '3 mobmastery quests and 300 location quests'.
Cresom nods in recognition to you.
Cresom says (in common), 'if you need me just let me know '.
Cresom says (in common), 'i am always here'.
Samiyah says soberly, 'Be careful, Cresom. He has threatened to steal the souls of those I care about. That means you.'
You say (in common), 'Very few people are on that list.'.
Cresom says (in common), 'my soul is strong '.
You say (in common), 'He tears it right from people's chests!'.
You say (in common), 'and turns it into a rock!'.
You say (in common), 'I saw one -- he said it was a girl, named Marion.'.
You say (in common), 'a Nashite warrior.'.
You say (in common), 'just be careful'.
Cresom says (in common), 'she wasn't as strong as me'.
Samiyah asks softly, 'But he is a God. How can you fight a god?'
Cresom says (in common), 'maybe not but i have a god on my side '.
Cresom says (in common), 'my god'.
Cresom stops using a Wisdom signet ring.
Cresom wears a Wisdom signet ring on his left finger.
12/17/2012: The Soul Stealer's Song
Someone says, 'good evening'.
> shiv
Brrrrrrrrr.
You say (in common), 'Fallen One.. greetings.'.
Someone says, 'greetings'.
Someone says, 'how are you?'.
You say (in common), 'I am.. I am well enough. I have finished the work, save for the last stanza'.

Someone nods.
You say (in common), 'but am ready to perform for the Council...'.
You say (in common), 'and for you...'.
You say (in common), 'forgive me -- one moment'.
(combat snipped)
Samiyah is going to a safe spot.
A Small Chapel Strewn With Spiderwebs
[Exits: north south]
Spiderwebs drape every corner of this small chapel, giving it a ghostly
appearance. A small altar to Maurice stands at the center and pews form
untidy, disheveled rows leading towards it. Archways, partially blocked
by webs, allow access to the catacombs to the north and south. This was
a place for visitors to pause, collect their thoughts, offer up prayers
or meditations and perhaps light a candle, before or after giving honor
to those entombed here.
A cracked and broken font of stone still contains a trickle of brackish water.
You rest.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.
Someone says, 'you are ready to enlighten your peers?'.
You say (in common), 'and there's the last line. it just came to me.'.
You say (in common), 'I don't know about 'enlighten'...'.
You say (in common), 'but I am ready to perform.'.
Someone says, 'good'.
Someone says, 'you do that for them'.
You say (in common), 'Thirty stanzas, by the way.'.
Someone says, 'i want a private performance'.
You say (in common), '.. now?'.
Someone says, '30 hmmm im not sure if i should be impressed or insulted'.
Someone says, 'no not now '.
Someone says, '( im going to be busy soon piling wood)'.
Someone says, 'im sure you will make me proud young one'.
You say (in common), 'it is not my longest work - that was The Baroness Lament - but it's the second longest.'.
Someone touchs the water turning it black.
Belgarion tells you (in common), 'i am going to kill sendres once more and head back up to
MoK'.
You tell Belgarion (in common), 'okay - Someone is speaking with me right now, so I may be
delayed a smidge.'.
Someone says, 'let me know when i can hear it for myself'.
Belgarion tells you (in common), 'ok'.
You say (in common), 'I am at your service, Fallen One, and can perform it whenever you wish.'.
You say (in common), 'it is ready.'.
Someone says, 'just pray ill hear it'.
> shiv
Brrrrrrrrr.
You say (in common), 'I do not want to pray to you with intent.'.
You say (in common), 'You may hear them - and that is none of my doing...'.
Someone says, 'it doesn't matter i always hear it'.
Samiyah bites her lip, fidgeting with the long end of her veil.
Someone says, 'we are one samiyah and the sooner you accept that the easier life will be'.
Samiyah leans back against the wall, sliding down it, until she sits crosslegged on the
floor.
Samiyah composes herself, fidgeting with her veil.
Someone flicks his finger fixing the buckle on your golden armor.
Someone says, 'and please get that fixed'.
Samiyah entwines her fingers in her lap, jumping slightly at your touch.
Samiyah takes a deep breath and closes her eyes.
Samiyah prays, 'As my steps have travelled 'round the world for many years '
Samiyah prays, 'I've seen some acts of cruelty, come face to face with fears '
Samiyah prays, 'I've heard of foulest tortures and I've witnessed blood and pain '
Samiyah prays, 'Been exposed to death and horror, time and time a-gain '
Samiyah prays, 'But mortal terrors pale before Immortal threat of wrath '
Samiyah prays, 'A note demanded that I write - a song of Seraph's past '
Samiyah prays, 'Polite, my re-ply, but was firm: Of you, I cannot sing '
Samiyah prays, 'For your deeds are never fair, you only mis'ry bring '
You tell DarkClaw (in common), 'Sayyida - the Fallen One has demanded I perform -- I JUST started a few lines ago'.
DarkClaw tells you, 'May I join you?'.
You tell DarkClaw (in common), 'please do'.
Samiyah prays, 'I thought the matter ended, 'til I saw a wicked grin '
Samiyah prays, 'He backed me to a corner, laughed, and said in voice of sin, '
Samiyah prays, '"What would be worse - harming you? - or all that you hold dear? '
Samiyah prays, 'Now tell my tale, oh little bard, or they'll have cause to fear." '
Samiyah prays, 'He knelt before me, wings pulled back, and looked me in the eyes '
Samiyah prays, 'And ran a finger down my cheek, a threat in kindness' guise '
Samiyah prays, ' "So will you do this thing for me?" he asked with voice so cold '
Samiyah prays, 'I stammered yes, my friends to guard, that he not steal a soul. '
Samiyah prays, 'Thus angrily, surrendered will, agreeing to his task '
Samiyah prays, 'But swore I wouldn't write a word, until I knew his past '
Samiyah prays, 'He smirked and nodded, told his tale, then ordered me to write '
Samiyah prays, 'I shook my head, refusing, having not learned all I might '
Samiyah prays, 'I wouldn't let _his_ answers be the sum of all I learned '
Samiyah prays, 'Re-searched, read, and interviewed, and studied pages turned '
Samiyah prays, 'Until at last, was ready, and to paper, quill I put '
Samiyah prays, Til pages filled and ink was spilled, my fingers stained like soot '
Samiyah prays, 'I've scratched out lines and crumpled pages, disatisfied with all '
Samiyah prays, 'My efforts, words could not contain, encompassed in a scrawl '
Samiyah prays, 'But here and now, present to you, the tale of Seraph's life '
Samiyah prays, 'No pleasantries, no happy end - it is a work of strife. '
Samiyah takes a breath, then begins once more.
Samiyah prays, 'The being known as Seraph was once but a frightened boy '
Samiyah prays, 'Abandoned by his family, no happiness or joy '
Samiyah prays, 'A life of thiev'ry on the street, oft' beaten when he failed '
Samiyah prays, 'His master was a bastard brute, who truly should be jailed '
Samiyah prays, 'Then one day, a task was set, to thieve a weapon-smith '
Samiyah prays, 'And failing, he was snatched right up, clenched in an ogre's fist '
Samiyah prays, 'They beat him with a metal chain, and whips 'til almost dead '
Samiyah prays, 'Then heated up an iron fork, burned eyes out from his head '
DarkClaw winces. Ouch!
Samiyah prays, 'The eyes are naught, or so they say, but windows to the soul '
Samiyah prays, 'That child screamed and all went black - the peace of death his goal '
Samiyah prays, 'But lifted up, into a light, and there an "angel" stood '
Samiyah prays, ' "I feel the hate inside of you, and absence there of good." '
Samiyah prays, 'Into that corpse, the "angel" breathed, returning gift of life '
Samiyah prays, 'And sent him back, to earthly plane, to sow a path of strife '
Samiyah prays, 'Souls to steal and souls to take, for souls kept him alive '
Samiyah prays, 'The first to fall was Marion, the death he did contrive '
Samiyah prays, 'Soon thereafter, he was found, by Kerri in the Dark '
Samiyah prays, 'Given home, and honors all - still learning all the arts '
Samiyah prays, 'The Booga speaks most fondly of his Ordained Sur-i-el '
Samiyah prays, 'Honors gave his chief Ordained, who's rage burned hot as hell. '
Samiyah prays, 'Mystic armor, mighty blades - for great were the rewards '
Samiyah prays, 'And added greatly to the bags that Booga loved to hoard '
Samiyah prays, 'Then one day it hit him, with the ringing of a bell -- '
Samiyah prays, 'And there within the Booga's tree, in love the Seraph fell '
Samiyah prays, 'Mystaya was his wicked muse, the woman he would wed '
Samiyah prays, 'And for a time was happy, til his love by Tiger bled '
Samiyah prays, 'He swore revenge - let Aslan die! - for Talyn's desperate crime '
Samiyah prays, 'A love for love, the price to pay, in justice so sublime '
Samiyah prays, 'But interposed, the Weaver stood, Her eyes of deepest black '
Samiyah prays, '"If you should slay my Handmaid sweet, there is no turning back. '
Samiyah prays, 'Anathema named, Alliance hurt, and from you turn my face '
Samiyah prays, 'Where once a hand of friendship oft, just coldness in its place." '
Samiyah prays, 'Thus turned from path of Vengeance, he bitterly was forced '
Samiyah prays, 'And helpless rage turned deep within, with words so foul and coarse '
Samiyah prays, '"This love, it only weakens me: I cannot keep her long!" '
Samiyah prays, 'But each time thought to set aside, his heart proclaimed it wrong '
Samiyah prays, 'That wicked core of burning need, the thirst a soul could slake '
Samiyah prays, 'Came manifest in evil lies, all goaded by his mate '
Samiyah prays, '"Oh help me out, I need your aid!" he pled to Maja, whom '
Samiyah prays, 'Agreed to help "dispel a 'Clave", but only found his doom '
Samiyah prays, 'Locked within a Captain's place, blinded, crushed and slain '
Samiyah prays, 'A Nexus-friend was fooled and died, his gear was 'Staya's gain. '
Samiyah prays, 'Years, they passed, and many learned, to trust was but to die '
Samiyah prays, 'Then left behind by god and kin, he gazed up to the sky '
Samiyah prays, 'There must be more, beyond this Realm, I must leave it behind '
Samiyah prays, 'That distance might be sword to cleave through last of oaths that bind '
Samiyah prays, 'years would pass, the seasons sped, while absent Seraph stayed '
Samiyah prays, 'At last, returned, to Gods above, another vow was made '
Samiyah prays, 'I'll stand among you, serve the young, Immortal lessons learn '
Samiyah prays, 'But within me, there's a need, a fire wicked burns '
Samiyah prays, 'Born to sorrow, born to hate, and born to now Ascend '
Samiyah prays, 'And in my presence, trembling souls, before me knees to bend '
Samiyah prays, 'He followed through, was lifted high, his mortal shell to shed '
Samiyah prays, 'And in his name, his minions slew, 'til streets ran wet and red '
Samiyah prays, 'He crafted a new leg-a-cy, and gave a name -- the Vir '
Samiyah prays, 'There from a wicked throne of bone, the Seraph did not stir '
Samiyah prays, 'Many were the conquests of his favored scarlet souls '
Samiyah prays, 'Golson, Mas and Hedschott, all contribute to his goal: '
Samiyah prays, 'Let chaos spread - and lies and hurt - to make the whole world bleed '
Samiyah prays, 'Perhaps so all that suffering, would assuage his dark need '
Samiyah prays, 'For hungered, still, the Seraph did - that hollow void inside '
Samiyah prays, 'It made him reckless, to a fault, and wrongfully decide '
Samiyah prays, 'In a rage, he slew an oathed, and then - the rumor goes '
Samiyah prays, 'It was to friends from earthly plane, their eq quickly flowed '
Samiyah prays, 'The story's garbled - but the fact - he was not cast from high '
Samiyah prays, 'Means there is some question, and we may not e're know why '
Samiyah prays, 'He left his place, he left behind, his people and his throne '
Samiyah prays, 'November twenty, in Oh-Nine, this History has shown '
Samiyah prays, 'Many weeks would pass, until, the Seraph showed his face '
Samiyah prays, 'And with his re-turn, from him fell, the last Immortal grace '
Samiyah prays, 'It was the Spring, in April mid, the Seraph was Retired '
Samiyah prays, 'The Vir was gone, they said so long, their charter had expired '
Samiyah prays, 'Cen-tur-ies sped by with naught a hint of blackest wings '
Samiyah prays, 'Then DarkClaw found him in her home - and Chaos did he bring '
Samiyah prays, 'A growled need, a dark desire - for stronger was his thirst '
Samiyah prays, 'Three souls to gain, or else he'd steal: Belgarion'd be first '
Samiyah prays, 'She wept! She raged! How could he force, a woman to decide '
Samiyah prays, 'Between her friends and twixt her love, the choice she'd not abide '
Samiyah prays, 'She sought advice, she sought to hire, a Bard to tell the tale '
Samiyah glances quickly at DarkClaw, then continues.
Samiyah prays, 'And spread a warning through the streets, through cities and through dale '
Samiyah prays, 'Samiyah spoke of desert charms, of salt and bonds of faith '
Samiyah prays, 'Four Elements not close at hand, but Spirit the fifth makes '
DarkClaw smiles at you.
Samiyah prays, ' "Call your folk, and keep them close - like desert cat he hunts '
Samiyah prays, 'Culling out the wayward sheep, the wounded and the runts. '
Samiyah prays, 'Be the shepherd, ward them all, and get them through the night: '
Samiyah prays, 'Those shared vows will help you stand against this horrid fright." '
Samiyah prays, 'Heartened, Lady went her way, with troubled Bard behind '
Samiyah prays, 'For she the bonds of Faith rejects, alone and unaligned '
Samiyah prays, 'It wasn't long before he heard of little Bard's advice '
Samiyah prays, 'And thwarted, he began to watch - then spoke and named a price '
Samiyah prays, 'She'd do his bid, and spin his tale, or else her friends would fall '
Samiyah prays, 'But found that this was not enough - he wanted her as thrall. '
Samiyah prays, ' "I am the one who hears your prayers, To whom your people pray '
Samiyah prays, 'I've watched you for the longest time, through dark and light of day '
Samiyah prays, 'I'm here to help, you must believe, It's really for your good '
Samiyah prays, 'For without hate there is no love - I wish you understood." '
Samiyah prays, 'What Gods decree, we must abide - they cannot be gainsaid - '
Samiyah prays, 'And as my tale comes to a close, I'm filled with fear and dread '
Samiyah prays, 'For if it is - as Seraph says - he is my destiny '
Samiyah prays, 'I face the future yet unwrit, unknowing what will be. '
Samiyah falls silent and buries her face in her hands.
Someone says, 'very well samiyah'.
DarkClaw comforts you.
Someone says, 'we will be speaking soon'.
DarkClaw glares at someone.
Samiyah nods, barely.
DarkClaw says, 'Haven't you caused her enough anguish?'.
Someone leaps to the sky.
DarkClaw growls, staring after the Fallen One.
DarkClaw whispers, "Are you alright, Sami?"
Samiyah shakes her head slightly. "No, Sayyida. But I will feel better after I go and help Belgarion and get my mind off of it."
Samiyah pushes herself up off the stone floor, using the wall for support.
DarkClaw nods slowly. "Should you need anything..."
Samiyah unhooks her veil, wiping away the tears that soak her face.
DarkClaw says, 'Wait, please....'.
DarkClaw utters the words, 'gjwwai'.
You say (in common), '(afk one sec)'.
Someone utters the words, 'hfjz gzzuio'.
Someone utters the words, 'zabrahpdjatz'.
Someone utters the words, 'abrazak'.
Someone utters the words, 'sagg xa hgruqz'.
DarkClaw says, 'I fear she's too distraught to be alone.'.
Someone nods.
Someone nods.
DarkClaw says, 'She's barely holding herself up.'.
Someone says (in common), 'i see'.
You say (in common), '(Back)'.
Someone says (in common), 'what happened?'.
DarkClaw says, '(Welcome back)'.
You say (in common), 'Hello... Someone?'.
Belgarion appears out of nowhere.
Belgarion says (in common), 'its me'.
Samiyah smiles faintly. 'Hello, Friend.'
Belgarion says (in common), 'what happened Samiyah?'.
Samiyah blinks, realizing her face is bare, and quickly pins her veil back into place, blushing.
DarkClaw winces slightly and looks to Sami apologetically.
Samiyah turns slightly away, composing herself after being exposed to a non-family member.
DarkClaw says, 'I'm sorry. I was only worried for you.'.
Samiyah swallows hard, then says quietly, 'The Fallen One commanded me to write of him. I have done so. He commanded me to pray it to him.'
Samiyah continues, '... and I have done so... and he heard the prayer.'
Belgarion blinks.
Belgarion says (in common), 'he heard the prayer?'.
Samiyah explains, 'The Fallen One says that he is the god of the Desert tribes... and brought one of the Elders to confirm this, some days ago.'
Belgarion sits down and thinks deeply.
DarkClaw closes her eyes and lets out a heavy sigh.
Belgarion says (in common), 'i have not heard of this before'.
You say (in common), 'He has been most insistant.'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'so seems like the Fallen One has some tricks left up his sleeves'.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.
DarkClaw reopens her eyes and pins Sami with a look. "Sami, even if he is the god of the Desert Tribes, he cannot force your faith. You can decide your path and your fate."'.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.
You say (in common), 'I cling to the words you spoke a few days ago, Sayyida. That none can force worship - it is a choice.'.
DarkClaw nods in recognition to you.
Samiyah falters, 'But he says I belong to him... always have... that he witnessed my birth
DarkClaw says, 'I push myself on no one.'.
DarkClaw chuckles, evidently amused.
Belgarion says (in common), 'what i don't understand is how he ( who is without power now ) can do these things'.
DarkClaw says, 'Any God or Goddess could've witnessed your life, Sami.'.
You blink.
You say (in common), '... Oh.'.
You say (in common), 'I suppose that's right!'.
DarkClaw smiles happily.
DarkClaw says, 'You have many who love you for who you are. Please don't let him ruin the person that they love.'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'so he has told you that you belong to him?'.
Samiyah nods slightly, worrying at her lower lip.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.
Belgarion says (in common), 'interesting'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'he has also said he was going to have my soul'.
Belgarion chuckles, evidently amused.
Belgarion shrugs.
Belgarion says (in common), 'that will never happen'.
Samiyah smiles faintly. 'That was in my song.'
Belgarion says (in common), 'what was that he was after souls?'.
You say (in common), 'yours, yes.'.
Belgarion nods.
Belgarion says (in common), 'well i am seeing what the Fallen One truly is'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'do you know why he steals souls'.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.
You say (in common), 'because he has none of his own, any longer - just an empty void inside that aches to be filled.'.
Belgarion smiles happily.
You say (in common), 'only with the soul of others does that hunger abate'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'exactly'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'do you know HOW he steals souls'.
You say (in common), 'Yes.'.
You say (in common), 'He reaches out, touches their chest, and draws it from their body. Sometimes, he turns the souls into gems, if he wants a momento.'.
Belgarion chuckles, evidently amused.
You say (in common), 'He carries the first soul he ever took - Marion.'.
Belgarion shakes his head.
Belgarion says (in common), 'thats the way'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'but not HOW'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'the HOW is through fear'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'those that fear it may be true'.
DarkClaw snarls, "And trickery."
You blink.
Belgarion says (in common), 'i did at first'.
You say (in common), 'well, then I've been feeding him for .. well.. since the day we met.'.
You say (in common), 'because he terrifies me.'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'then he did somethings to Darkclaw'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'i stood up to him'.
DarkClaw beams a smile at Belgarion.
Belgarion says (in common), 'and told him that he was a weak godling'.
Samiyah covers her mouth with one hand as she gasps in surprise.
Belgarion says (in common), 'that he couldnt have my soul because i didnt fear him'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'his disrespect for Darkclaw spawned a rebuke from me that he didnt expect'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'you may verify it with Darkclaw she was there'.
DarkClaw nods and offers a crooked smile. "He speaks true."
DarkClaw says, 'It surprised even me.'.
Belgarion grins evilly.
You say (in common), '..this gives me hope.'.
Belgarion nods.
Belgarion says (in common), 'i will never be afraid of a god that has lost his power ever again'.
DarkClaw says, 'As long as there is struggle, Sami...there is always hope.'.
You say (in common), 'may we be gone from this place? I would like to be out in the sunshine and doing something useful...'.
Belgarion smiles at you.
DarkClaw says, '(Hehe, sorry.)'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'Samiyah if you ever need someone to talk to let me know'.
You say (in common), '(nono, that was in char - Sami's just creeped out)'.
Belgarion stands up.
Belgarion hugs you.
You blink.
Belgarion hugs DarkClaw.
Belgarion kisses DarkClaw.
DarkClaw hugs Belgarion.
DarkClaw kisses Belgarion.
Samiyah averts her gaze.
DarkClaw says, 'Thank you, hon.'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'i must leave now'.
You say (in common), 'oh, drat'.
You say (in common), 'i wanted to help you with that thing on the Mountain you needed help with'.
Belgarion shrugs.
Belgarion says (in common), 'there will be time'.
Belgarion chuckles, evidently amused.
You say (in common), 'I was down here getting the item I needed to be at my best'.
Belgarion nods.
You say (in common), 'Are you wanting the price of a simple ring?'.
Belgarion nods.
You say (in common), 'I bought one for Cresom recently'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'i know what my price is'.
You say (in common), 'let me look it up'.
Belgarion says (in common), 'i was just wondering if it was close to your'.
Belgarion bows deeply.
Belgarion utters the words, 'xafe ay candusqarr'.
Belgarion invokes recall magic.
Belgarion disappears suddenly.
You say (in common), 'Sayyida, could you let him know that my price is 5,050,525'.
DarkClaw says, 'I will, thank you.'.
You say (in common), 'I am sorry that took so long to obtain'.
DarkClaw says, 'No need to apologize.'.
DarkClaw says, 'You should leave here. Put this behind you.'.
Samiyah nods, the movement causing her veil-charms to chime.
You say (in common), 'with your permission, I will.'.
DarkClaw says, 'Of course.'.
Samiyah lays a hand across her chest, modestly lowers her eyes, and curtseys.
